Why I sold my Tudor Watches.

- In this video, I will talk about why I sold my Tudor watches. These are the models from my collection I will be talking about: Tudor Black Bay 58 Blue, Tudor Black Bay 41, Tudor Royal 38 Blue. It looks like more and more people are selling their Tudor watches. What was the reason behind my decision to sell my Tudors? Today, you can buy or order almost any Tudor watch at AD. The secondary prices on Tudor watches, even some of the most desirable, have decreased dramatically.

I sold my collection of Tudor, omega and some cheaper stuff and picked up a 40mm explorer. Trying to depart from looking at watches and start enjoying one and just one
Good call on the Explorer. I think it's one of the best models ever made. I love the Explorer in 36 but haven't tried the 40mm version yet. How do you like it?
@@OneManReviews I’ve always been a huge 36 mm guy and wore a 36mm OP for years. My wrist isn’t small, I just like midsized watches. I picked up an OP41 with the yellow indices and it was spectacular but the dial was pretty large. Great piece, but I stuck with my 36 with the grey dial. Fast forward a little while and I traded it towards the explorer 40 and it’s so great. The dial feels like the right size and the heftier bracelet is awesome. I’m going to keep it without the intention of ever trading on. Really enjoying the inky black dial. The 36 mm explorer is nice but the bracelet is a little thin compared to the OP36 so the 40 just felt more to my taste. By no means does it look large in person like the OP41. Oddly enough it looks a little smaller than the explorer 39 for some reason. Now that I think of it, the explorer 40 wears almost the same as the Royal 38
@@Explorer40mm Thanks so much for such a deailed reply. I am now curious to get my hands on the Explorer 40. The ink dial is what I liked a lot with my BB41 and if the Explorer 40 wears smaller that an additional great benefit for me.
Going through the exact same. I have 2 black bay 58’s-- one blue and one silver 925. Just today, I traded the silver 58 for partial money toward a new Cartier Santos. Thought about trading my blue as well, but I couldn’t do it. It’s really a great watch. Glad I kept it.
That's so cool to see people going through similar things. The Santos is an awesome watch. Congrats. I think your Santos and BB58 make the perfect two watch collection.
I think you made great decisions. The railmaster is an underrated beauty and the BB58 Blue was definitely the one to keep hold of 👌🏻
Thank you! I also think that the Railmaster is underrated and the BB58 is just soo good :)
It's really nice to hear you bought an IWC. My only watch (apart from a G shock and an old 35mm Enicar), is an IWC Mark 16. These watches are really under appreciated. Such a beautiful clear and simple design. I really think it is one of the best and most versatile watches for around the £2500 - £3500 mark...The dials are so stark and clear and purposeful. They are just superb. Hope you are enjoying wearing your beautiful blue dial
Thanks so much. I always respected IWC but never seriously considered one for myself. But then I had my hands on the Mark XVIII and fell in love with the model. The deep blue dial is amazing and in certain lights looks like black. So now it's one of my favourite watches.
I think keeping the bb58 blue was smart. Such a good looking watch. I’ve had the bb58 black, Tudor pepsi gmt, Tudor chrono, and sold them all. The bb58 was a tad small. Gmt a tad big. The chrono was nice but a bit heavy.
Ended up grabbing a Tudor black bay pro as a daily beater and I love it. If it was a bit thinner it would be perfect but apart from that I think it’s great. Once they slim the cases down I think everyone will be flocking to grab a Tudor.
Thanks! I was very excited when the Tudor BB Pro came out but it was a bit too thick for my wrist.
Funny this is the video I came back to find. Sold (almost) all my watches Tudors and all. Unsubscribed practically all my watch content and bought a watch from a “ grail” brand. Now I want another Tudor and I’m back on the watch content🤣
It is a perfect circle of the watch sickness. Lol. What watch did you get from a "grail" brand?
@@OneManReviews He predictably (and likely) got a Rolex 🐑. I would be extremely surprised (and impressed) if it's an actual haute horology brand like Moser, Lange, PP, AP, Breguet, JLC, etc. You're one of the very few watch UA-camrs, OneManReviews, that gets a pass on your Rolex because you have proven time and time again that you are the epitome of a watch enthusiast and collector with a very varied and exciting collection! You have one of everything. Every piece in your collection is different and versatile. One of the best collections I've seen online.
@@JakeLian You never know, maybe it's something "a grail" you don't expect.
Oh man, that's very kind of you to say such nice words about my watch collection. Appreciate it.
I also agree with you retaining the BB58 (blue or black) coz it’s the Tudor that ticks most of my boxes.
Yes, such a perfect model.
As an ex TudorhoIic (who now has a sea dweller and Z blue milgauss plus several other fine brands) I totally sympathise with both your Tudor assessment and love for IWC, coz IWC don’t know how to make an ugly watch. Congrats, thanks and God bless.
A Sea Dweller, Blue Milgauss. These two are already a perfect watch collection! Thanks for your support. Appreciate it. God bless you too.
IWC make plenty of ugly watches 😂😂
Won’t be getting rid of any of my Tudor watches, I love them. The BB58, BB41 and Panda Chrono, no way will I be selling any of them. I have a Rolex Sub 41 and have completely gone off it, just too common and Rolex p’s me off with how hard it is to get hold of their watches. They treat their customers terribly.
These 3 Tudors from your collection are amazing. You definitely should keep them.
From your collection... BB, Explorer 2 and Cartier are timeless. The rest you can sell.
Purchased my Blue Black Bay 58 at Raffis" Yorkdale on 2021, wit the blue leather strap, paired it with the uncle seiko jubilee bracelet and there is no way I can go back to another strap😍😍😍
Yeah, I heard a lot of good things about Uncle Seiko bracelets never tried one though.
Looks like to leveled up on your collection great job !!!
Thank you! I think so too.
I love my BB58 Blue, enjoyed it thoroughly on my last vacation to Playa del Carmen and it got plenty of pool/boat/ocean time! I do want a Rolex, but I am very patient and willing to wait a year or so
The BB58 is the perfect vacation watch! No worries Rolex can wait 🙂
I love the royal 38, was searching at local ads for a long time, it has one of my favorite blue color shade, the best being the. VC overseas. But now that I have the royal for a few months I think I got my fun out of it. Thinking of selling it as well
Yeah, I remember it wasn't easy to buy the Royal 38 blue. I was looking for about 3 months before I found it at one of the ADs here in Canada.
@@OneManReviews yeah due to the integrated sports watch craze, royal was on high demand, it certainly is a beautiful watch but somehow I feel the same as you, it’s just not getting much wrist time anymore, it’s fun while it lasted
@@leroyjenkins9000 Strange case right? The watch is perfect but for some reason not getting enough wrist time.
You are correct in that many people are selling their Tudors ATM. There are two reasons for this: 1. It was one of the hottest watches, at a very approachable price for a new collector. I believe many people bought this watch, as it was so fashionable, and they have ended up being swept up with the general excitement. I imagine they moved on to other watches. Nothing wrong with that. AND 2. The general economic situation. Many people have become over exposed, and suddenly money is required for more basic essentials.
The BB 41 was too big for you, and you need to really think about a Pelagos. It's an amazing watch.
I think you right with your conclusions. If you are talking about Pelagos 39 I agree it is fantastic watch and I loved it on my wrist but it would be competing with my BB58 which I still have.
I am glad to see you still have both Aquaracers!
Sharp eye. Yes still have them although I rarely wear the blue one but the black one is in the rotation.
Cant Wait till they release the Pelagos 39mm in Titanium with a Blue Dial.
Oh, that would be amazing!
I’m glad you didn’t sell all the Tudors. Great video my friend 👏
Thanks, man 🙌 I was thinking of selling the remaining Tudor a couple of times but it's just too good 🙂
@@OneManReviews Don’t you dare man! A man always needs a Tudor in his collection 😂#tudorbros
@@SoCalWatchReviews Lol. I wouldn't dare now for sure 😆
@@OneManReviews 😂
Nice video. To avoid going back and forth buying and selling watches in my collection, I think long and hard before buying a piece. Although it is sometimes difficult to predict if you are going to keep a watch or sell it down the road.
Thank you. I try to use the same approach when it comes to watch purchases but as you said it's hard to predict what you may want in the future.
Totally understand these upgrades. Using car analogies, Tudor is VW, Omega is Audi and Rolex is Mercedes
Thanks. Love those car analogies.
Great choices glad you kept the BB58 blue
Thank you 🙌
Intelligent decision...I think the BB58 is the best watch ever made and the blue one is just awesome. Good move...
Thanks so much 🙏 I also think that the BB58 is one of the best modern watches made.
You made the right choices for the right reasons. Would have done the same if I were in your shoes. Sold a couple of watches also (except my Longines Conquest 39 blue) to built a 3 (technically 4😅) watch collection. Saving for a Rolex Explorer 214270 mk2, Omega Railmaster 40 black dial and a Breitling Superocean 42 (newest edition).
Thanks! Your choice for a 3 (technically 4) watch collection :) is perfect!
@@OneManReviews thanks! I'm really liking the no nonsense time only watches.
I bought new SuperOcean three months ago and I’m wearing it every single day and can’t get enough of it, just like Pep Guardiola 😋The bracelet is also amazing with new clasp and polished central links and it is extremely accurate Chronometer.
Any recommendations on how to sell a Tudor watch? Which site did you use?
Great cat. Do a video on him. He looks very friendly.
Lol. We have a few pets in our household
If ones wrist can handle the size the best Tudor to hang on to is the Pepsi GMT, especially on the Tudor leather strap.
I still have my tudor and have no intention of selling it .... I have a pelagos LHD though much rarer amd a bit different than all the BBs
Oh, I love the Pelagos LHD. That's a keeper for sure. I was even thinking of getting one but sadly they are too big for my wrist.
I’ve owned Tudor in the past ! I now own a Rolex but am on the verge of returning to Tudor not sure I like what Rolex is about anymore plus I live near London you can’t wear it out.
Tudor is priced right well made and under the radar 👍
I think that both Tudor and Rolex fit nicely in any collection.
Smart move to keep the BB58 blue. You will never improve on this one!
Thanks. The BB58 is a nearly perfect, if not perfect, watch.
@@OneManReviews BB58 with a round dot seconds hand, and the Ranger 3 link bracelet would improve it.
My opinion is that you should buy and sell whatever watches you like. I hope you enjoy the new watches. Personally I like the Tudor styles. I would not have sold either of those watches. Tudor gives you great quality for a much more fair price. Many other more expensive brands are over rated and not worth the money you have to pay and hoops you have to jump thru to make the purchase.
Yep. I agree that Tudor makes some of the best value for money watches.
You'll regret selling your Royal. That is a watch to wear on an occasion. When worn, it's perfect.
You'll miss that watch. It's a fantastic time piece.
Black Bay 58 is a classic.
Absolutely.
I would have kept the Royal, Railmaster, and Explorer II. Sell the BB58 and BB 41
Interesting. Why would you keep those 3?
@@OneManReviews Railmaster is a good replacement for the BB41. It can be used as a daily. The BB58 is a little too plain or common, but doesn’t have the superior finishing of a Rolex. The Explorer II can replace the BB58. The Royal has the integrated bracelet and shiny bracelet, looks more unique and dressy.
@@sc1 I would not replace the BB58 with the Explorer II due to the Explorer being an older watch (from 2002). Also, I like the BB58 as my vacation watch. It is tough and doesn't draw unnecessary attention.
Vintage Tudor prince oysterdate is the best.
In the swimming pool with a Tudor😢😬😶🌫️
Wear my 58 as an everyday watch and over here sweating watching the video 😂
Why? Because some watch UA-cam might have sold his?
@@davidr2802 it was in jest. I knew he loves his bb58 too so i wondered what would've made him decide to sell it
Lol. The BB58 is awesome but I feel like recently the BB54 took over the spotlight.
@@OneManReviews the 58 is perfect for me (7 1/4") wrist but more options for people is never a problem
@@codys5727 agree. Curious to see if they will bring more colors to the BB58 and 54 lines.
Sold my Tudor BB Pro, Keepin my Tudor Prince Date Tiger
Black bay 39 might have been just right
Yes. That's a very good size.
You have a very tasteful collection.
Thank you. It's very kind of you.
Classic framing in the opening sentence: "It seems that a lot of people are getting rid of their Tudor watches". Oh? Really? Where did you get this information? Do you have a reliable source for that? Can you share that source?
Actually forums and online dealers are fludded with Tudors. It doesn't make watch bad.
@@OneManReviews I know it doesn't, but again; "forums and dealers are flooded"? Where do you come up with this? I think you can make good content without the clickbait and unfounded assumptions!
Amazing trades, your current collection is far more mature, Omega and IWC Mark all day over your previous watches. Now sell your Tags and Tudor and get yourself a Submariner lol less is more you get to enjoy it more. I’m down to 2 watches, 216570 Polar and 126334 Azzuro get to wear them daily sometimes both same day :) while I do enjoy watching videos and getting the watch bug wouldn’t want more than 3 watches. The Grail is Vacheron 56 Blue Dial Bracelet/Strap. Great videos btw 😊
Haha thanks. I like the 5 digits Rolex models. Especially those Pepsis. From the modern catalogue I would take Explorer and maybe Air-King. But as an ultimate grail I have thePatek Aquanaut. Patek Pilot Travel Time in 37mm is also great. I reviewed it recently and fell in love.
You got a great power-duo with your Rolexes! 😀
Thanks Bro- they both do it all- The polar is a great daily tool watch that does it all- amazing visibility, take it everywhere un-noticeable including travel- Datejust is an icon even more than the Sub IMO. Always bought Rolex at retail- worth the wait. Great job on the Railmaster and Polar- I've always loved those two watches. Explorer 39/40 is something I've considered also but not sure we'll see, wouldn't like to have more than 3 watches, cant replace any of the ones I have. Not a snob about watch brands but Rolex makes super tough watches, also love their designs and history @@OneManReviews
I do like the royal very much I agree it’s underrated, but I wouldn’t buy one due to its movement.
Why buy the 41 if you felt it was too big for your wrist? Just don't buy either of those models.
Well I liked it anyway and still do.
How did you sell them? Did you take a loss?
Yes, I sold them at some loss.
Anyone is welcome to send me their Tudor watches for safekeeping or disposal.
Lol
To fund other, more expensive, purchases.....carry on.
BB58 OG is the best.
It is great indeed but I like the blue one better.
@@OneManReviewsit’s ugly though without the red dot at 12
The reason: you upgraded, at least in your mind.
I believe I made a step to a better curated collection.
just give it to me sir❤
No more two door watches
Haha. Not quite.
Should have kept the Royal because all the watch wankers hate it hah
Hahaha. I love that rebellios feelling :) I actually miss the Royal. That's a great watch but it wouldn't be geting much wrist time with my current collection.
@@OneManReviews I had the 38 Royal in black and your video partially informed my buying decision. such an underrated watch and one I miss often. But like I said in post below, attempting to be a one watch guy. I feel failure in my future
@@Explorer40mm I think that Royal is a very good option for a one-watch collection. 100m of wr, nice design, integrated bracelet, great quality. Everything is there. But yes the watch enthusiast journey is not that simple. Lol.
The copy of Dermot Mulroney 🙂
They will always be the “poor mans Rolex”. Just buy a used Rolex, always a better option
Dummy 🥴
