Imagine being a card grading company, and you’re expecting cards that look good, then someone sends a card that looks like it got curb stomped by a wooly mammoth on steroids

I sent a ripped in half card and it got a 3.5
I used to mark my cards as a kid to keep them from mixing up with the other kids and would love to see how they’d be graded. They’re from the Heart Gold Soul Silver era.

Marking them counts as recoloring no? So no grading at all
Seeing the grades come back for the really bad condition cards are so funny I always wonder what the people grading the cards are thinking when they grade them then see the mint condition cards if I could get anyone of my cards graded it would be my holographic snorlax from the first edition jungle set

I'd love to get my old school base set holos graded even though they're in rough shape. It would just be awesome to have the cards I pulled as a kid protected in slabs.
I feel you man. Even i want my cards graded. Sometimes it's not about the monetary value but the sentimental value
Late to the party but you can buy slabs, and UltraPro sells like 1" thick screwdowns if you're wanting some thickbois. Kinda pricey tho.
Idk but I think you can also slab them with PSA without getting a grade saving money
Why not just put them in protective cases yourself? No need to pay for grading lol.

If I had to choose, I'd grade my jungle base set pikachu. It was my very first card ever, and I recently got into pokemon again and ended up finding it coincidentally... I thought I had sold it with my collection when I was ten, which I deeply regret now 🙃

I‘d really like my Koraidon ex art rare graded. It‘s not particularly valuable, but it‘s just so pretty and I got it from my first three Scarlet and Violet packs ever.

I would grade my full art Marnie. I hunted it for two years and my friend and I both pulled it at the same time while opening packs together. A truly magical moment to reveal two of the same card at the same time!
Ancient Mew is one of my favorite all time cards. Love that card. Hoping to get one soon.

What's your reasoning for using beckett vs psa? I just found my collection from 1999-2000s and have a lot of valuable cards some in mint or close some in lesser condition. I'm trying to decide who to use for grading. I heard psa was more recognized with a better reputation and also having higher resale values. But I also heard beckett was a good pick if you think you may have a black label 10 which goes for more than a psa 10. I'm not sure how true this info is. If anyone has advice I would appreciate it.
if you haven't gotten an answer yet, yes, basically follow that idea. If you think you can get a black label 10 or dont mind trying/spending the money then Beckett is the way to go. Otherwise PSA will still be the go-to for the higher resell.
Pulled a Giratina V Alternate Art from a single Lost Origins pack. Not sure what I should do with it. Grade it or not

I’ve been considering it, but hate how long I’ve heard it takes to get it back :( and also have trust issues with the mail companies sadly so I’m stuck wondering if I should chance sending it off or not
My original base set Charizard. Not first edition or anything, has a tiny bit of whitening around the bottom edge, but other than that, it's in damn good shape. I'm 33 and sharing this passion with my 7 year old son now, but these things got me through a lot in my absolutely terrible and lonely childhood. It's a joy to watch other people open these things since I absolutely can't afford original base sets, but man that rush I used to get is unmatched. Thank you for everything you do. I know it's weird, but it means more than you know to some people.
I cant afford the base set cards either, but I'm planning on completing the set by substituting the more expensive cards with its xy evolution counterpart. Xy evolutions is a re-release of the original base set cards if you didn't know. It was released in 2016 or something. Charizards are still expensive but not as expensive as the original base set charizards.
They reworked the art of the "Basic" logo, but you can barely tell the difference between stage 1 and stage 2 pokemon.

I’m a little nervous about buying anything like that still because I haven’t been in the online Pokémon community very long so I don’t wanna make a rookie mistake and get ripped off because someone tampered with a pack or something. Do you have any recommendations on where to purchase these? Other than eBay lol

I'm a big fan of Snorlax, so have a few of Snorlax that I would like to get done. May have a 9 with one of them, but I think having them in the graded case, just adds to the look of the collection.

Well it’s not really expensive, and it just takes buying 1-2 packs every few days.

I would grade my Japanese Mewtwo rainbow rare GX card, my Dad used to travel to places for work and he brought me a booster pack from tokyo. I opened it with my family and I pulled the card. It may be not as rare as other cards but It always reminds me of that happy moment. This was such a fun video to watch thank you.
My family has a base set pikachu, and its wrinkled in the middle probably close to snapping in half, we also have like a german koffing and a lot of grass types from jungle, fossil, base set 2, and even team rocket I tihnk

I would have my Dark Dragonite graded for sure. It's not mint but it's fantastic considering I've had it since I was 10 ☺️

I would have my Altaria secret rare from Boundaries Crossed graded, and even though it might not be the rarest, or in the best condition, I pulled it from my very first booster pack, so it has a lot of sentimental value for me.
If I had to grade a card from my collection, I would grade my Leafeon Vmax Alt art from evolving skies because I got immensely lucky with it and got it on my first ever evolving skies pack. I love the art work on the card and if it were graded, It would probably be mint.

I have a first edition blaine's moltres that I've always wanted to get graded, but it costs so freaking much to do so that I can't justify doing it lol. I pulled it when I was a kid and kept it in good condition all this time.
this is amazing! Ive never graded anything before! im curious to see if in the future the new robotic grading companies gain any traction? Could be cool to have the processes be a bit quicker and if they can make grades a bit more consistent, it could be a really cool option! But Id love to grade my Ninetails EX!!!

i still get a sick feeling when i think about all the cards i had as a kid that my parents gave away...i had over 10k cards all from 1999-2002,had them all in binders aswell.....the amount of money that got robbed from me...making me depressed just thinking about it
I have/had a reversed holo exeggutor that I forgot on my friends boat and it got some water damage.(I can open the two layers like a book)
I have a shadowless zard, bent and scratched was my first holo ever. I sent it off a year ago and it returned as a PSA 2 to my surprise! I would never part with it, it will keep the memory of alive for so many years to come.

My first Pokémon card collection was about 20-30 cards and I left it in my pocket when I was like 4 when my mom did my laundry and they all got ruined. My favorite card I had was a Garchomp card and it’s still my favorite Pokémon 16 years later
Why is Leon grading with BGS instead of PSA? Is it preference or is it better? (I’m new to grading)
If I had to grade a card from my collection, it would be the elusive umbreon reaching for the moon, definitely a grade worthy card especially if it receives a 10
