Millennials could have literally paid off all of our college debts and bought a nice house if we thought about hanging onto our old Pokémon cards from the 90’s/early 00’s :(
First packet I ever opened contained a charizard, back in 1999. I used to keep it in my wallet. Crazy to think it could now be worth crazy amounts of money if I kept it pristine.
My favorite pokemon is Gyrados. I like the fact that he started as a magikarp that no one thought was worth anything but became something powerful and beautiful in the end. :)
Vintage pack openings always seem to make me feel good inside lol reminds me of when I was a kid. My favorite Pokémon will always be cyndaquil an his Evo line, ever since I was a kid it was always something about cyndaquil that stood out to me ❤
Bro, that pat on the back, the biceps😭 freaking swooole!! 💪 I’m so happy for you man. Your life is pretty much a dream come true and I’m happy things have worked out so well for you
As a kid, Charizard was always my favourite. I just loved the fact that it looked like a dragon and could actually spit fire. Besides that I also really liked the eeveelutions, just all the forms that eevee can take is what I found (and still do) so cool 😄
Always amazing to see 1st edition base openings! So hard to pick a favorite original Pokémon. Always liked the Dratini line, with Dragonite's dex entry of saving people stranded at sea.
Same! I remember spending a month at the daycare until I got the perfect Hasty nature Ghastly that I spec'd to have really high Special ATK. Thunderbolt, Psychic, Shadow Ball, Hypnosis. Nobody was ever able to beat that Gengar. Undefeated
As a kid Blastiose was always my favorite. That's because I traded for a secret rare gold Blastiose and even though its not CRAZY value, its sentimental value is HUGE. I've been collecting for about a year now and am really enjoying it. Ripping packs and sharing with my friends is the best. Discovered your channel not that long ago but I am loving the content
I remember opening my very first original base set that was Japanese and getting a Zapdos! I was so happy and all my friends at school wanted it so bad because it was in Japanese. It became one of my favorite Pokemon! I also captured one on Gameboy and always used it. The 90's were great and have been hooked ever since! GO ZAPDOS!!!!!!
Gyarados hands down. Started playing Pokemon Yellow in 99 and my boy single handedly carried me through the Elite Four. I had to grind a ton, got him to level 80 and then beat the game for the first time. Sweet memories.
I remember there was a kid on my block who was a bad kid he would tell me he would steal money from his grandparents wallet when they are looking away. And one day for some reason he game me a pretty beat up alakazam holo that's my memories with it lol
Also wanted to say thank you for rejuvenating my love for pokemon. First saw your videos during the pandemic and watching them became kind of a coping mechanism for me. Since the pandemic ended I've started collecting again, haven't pulled a charizard yet but it's brought back a feeling I haven't felt since I was a kid. Thank you.
As a kid I was all about Scyther, Alakazam and Machamp. But as the years went by I started to see other Pokemon in a different light. And somehow Rapidash rose to the top for me. It's majesty and simplicity just really made an impression on me. I think especially as some Pokemon designs became so elaborate, the look of a unicorn with fire for hair just really settled nicely with me. So yeah, Rapidash I would say had become my favorite Pokemon from the original 151!
@@Leonhart Wait, what?! This is amazing! Thank you so much! I don't have a single one of my cards from when I was a kid. This means so so much to me. You are an inspiration to the Pokémon community and this will not go unappreciated! And thank you Rapidash for all your majestic, flaming glory!
Mankey & Primeape! The episode where mankey steals Ash’s hat was probably my favorite episode of the animated series growing up. So stoked that Primeape got an evolution in Scarlet and Violet.
I’ve always loved Gengar. Has been my favorite since I was a kid when my friend traded me his haunter and I was shocked to see it evolve! Pokémon blue has a special spot in my heart
Always end my nights with one of your videos! This was awesome! My favorite from the original 151 has to be Ninetails! There’s just something so majestic about them.
Psyduck is and always has been my favourite especially now because it reminds me of when my wife gets angry and her head explodes when I buy more Pokémon items for my collection haha 😂
Let's go! Was missing your videos! It is sad to think I won't open these childhood packs ever again, I am grateful you are here to live vicariously through. Fav pokemon ever is Gengar... He looks cool lol!

I was super big into Pokémon content back in 2016-2017, Over the past few years Pokémon content has gone down in popularity, but I remember watching your videos almost every chance I had. it brought so much joy(couldn't afford cards that well back then) seeing the rare cards back when I was like 13-15, I'm 19 almost 20 now. I'm glad to see you're still posting and getting decent views despite the landscape of UA-cam. Hope you have a lovely day and thank you for posting your content for so long.
Ditto is hands down my absolute favorite Pokémon! There's something so charming and unique about Ditto's ability to transform into any other Pokémon it encounters. Its adaptability and versatility make it a truly exceptional creature in battles. But beyond that, Ditto's ability to mimic its friends and foes alike just warms my heart. It's like having a Pokémon that can empathize with others by literally walking in their shoes, or in this case, their forms. I've had countless memorable moments with Ditto throughout my Pokémon journey. From unexpected transformations that turned the tide of a tough battle to adorable instances where Ditto tried to imitate the mannerisms of other Pokémon - it never fails to put a smile on my face. Ditto's uncanny resemblance to other Pokémon also reminds me that we can all be different and unique in our ways, yet still, find common ground to connect with others. Its friendly nature reflects the essence of what being a Pokémon Trainer is all about - forming strong bonds with our beloved companions. So, whether I'm capturing new Pokémon, battling it out with fierce opponents, or simply spending time with my Pokémon pals, Ditto holds a special place in my heart.

Raichu was always my favorite gen 1 pokemon. Mainly because he was the much underrated evolution to Pikachu, the literal main character. His holo in the Lt Surge deck gives me dopamine
I always loved Hitmonchan! The epic duels that he and Hitmonlee had back in the day always kept me on the edge of my seat! Plus the original games playing with him and ice punch fire punch thunder punch was so OP!
My favorite 151 Pokémon is Mewtwo, ever since I saw the first Pokémon movie as a kid, I have always seen Mewtwo as a badass anti-hero Pokémon. He shows a lot of emotions and has the most character and personality out of all of the legendary Pokémon in my honest opinion.

My mom burnt all my cards when I was a kid. I told her the other day how much some of them are worth now days, she almost had a heart attack. LOL. Favi was defo Bulbasaur just cause of how it spoke in the anime. Adorable is an understatement.
When I was 10 years old in 1999 during the height of Pokemon I had a 1st edition Charizard. I had a kid in my class who was a real trouble maker and he went into our local Woolworths and stole an entire box of 1st edition Pokemon cards and he got the Charizard from one of the booster packs. The crazy thing is too he wasn't even that into Pokemon, I guess he just stole it for fun. I ended up swapping him all my shinies for it and had it for a few months, until when we were on a school trip a kid in my year kept on upping offers to swap and I eventually caved. Still one of my biggest regrets in life.
Charizard will always be my favorite OG 151 Pokemon. I miss the smell of opening the original packs, as weird as that may be. Those were some of the best and most memorable days of my life!

In the games I always made sure I had Butterfree asap, confusion, sleep powder helped for a long time
Aerodactyl was always my favorite. His battle with Charizard in the Indigo League series was LIT!
I love these vintage pack openings so much! So excited to see the fire inside!! 😍 My favourite 151 Pokemon is Ninetales. Then it would be Mew, Raichu and Zubat. ❤️🔥
if only i could get sponsored to open packs. i promise, thats all i would do. no talking, no shot of myself in there at all. just all about pokemon and the description of the video which would be” opening rarest pokemon cards” on like every video, cuz ofcourse imma need some click bait.
Loved your videos for years Leonhart!! Thank you for the years of entertainment. My favorite Pokémon for the og 151 is Gengar.
Poliwrath is my fav Pokemon. Not just from the OG 151. I love his versatility in the games. Learning moves like Body Slam, Hyper Beam, Surf, Strength, Ice Beam, Blizzard, Psychic and Earthquake. Plus he's pretty cool lookin'
I want that Poliwrath card framed on my wall! What a beaut
Charmander is the man, pulled him out of a fruit roll up box in the 90s and was hooked ever since
My favorite of the OG 151 is Charmeleon!!! I always liked the awkward middle stages the most as it resonated with my pre-teen goofy self
dragonair the artwork on the card and its sprite and cry on gen 1 was magical.
