There was a pigeon egg in my window.. and both their parents. I bought them a house, built shade and gave rice and pearl millet daily.. mommy pigeon was scared of me.. so I never touched her or shifted the baby bird to warmer place.. I thought the baby would do fine with its mom.. but I found it dead within 4 days. 😔 I should have been more careful or educated myself about taking proper care of baby pigeons. Thanks for the videos, I'll learn from it and if mother nature gives me an opportunity again; I'll take the proper care of the beautibeautiful birdies!!

I am amazed you were able to hand feed it, I have always heard that hatching pigeons is nearly impossible due to the need for pigeon milk from the parents, I assume you got some kind of formula that perfectly mimics it.

@@varshasrinivas3242 Yes they do...it is called crop milk, Only Pigeons/Doves, Emperor Penguins, and flamingos produce milk. And chicks normally don't survive without it, as it is very, very high in nutrition, letting them grow incredibly fast. This is why it is so hard to hatch pigeon eggs and why his video is so amazing. I'd suggest a very quick google search on the subject of Pigeon milk.
Shit they need milk what am I going to do on these babies hatch if they hatch I'm just trying to save them They were in my attic and a nest but we had to get all the pigeons out and then we found the nest hidden after we boarded all the windows up cuz they literally smashed through my attic windows to get in and I have no way to like get the nest to them because I can't get on my roof with the way it's lines it plus I don't have a ladder and I'm not even sure if they're still on my roof cuz they weren't really on the roof they were in my attic. I have them incubating but I had no idea that they had milk I thought that was just a mixture of some kind of I don't know worms or something crushed up. I'm going to have to try to find a way to get them the right stuff

I saw a pigeon laying it’s egg under a tree in my back yard so after she laid it she went away and the next day she came back but she didn’t sit on the egg and after the didn’t come for a long period of time so I was concerned and took the bird in too raise it because I’m afraid the egg will get too hot so this is very informative

This is an awesome video! What a beautiful bird. I know I’m a year late but I’m looking for some advice if you wouldn’t mind. I was away from home for a few weeks and come back to pigeon nest with 2 eggs on my counter in my kitchen - I left the window open. Needless to say the pigeons flew off… I’m on a flat so can’t put the nest out. I have the eggs under a lamp in a cardboard box. I’m not sure when they were laid. What recipe did you use for the formula? Thank you.
Thanks for watching, I used to feed the baby pigeon with a powderized chick booster, after you pulverized, just get enough formula and put a hot water and after a minute feed it...

I just done two pigeon eggs in a nest that where on top of my house, we had to clear the nest. The pigeon left and come back, i left their eggs to wait and see if they come back, however it’s unlikely. If they don’t one back for them I will hatch them

So I know nothing about pigeons or really birds for that matter but My attic got broken into by pigeons. they quite literally smashed through the window and we shooed them out and boarded up the window and we thought we were good and it turns out that they were actually getting through another hole in the ruff somehow and we're living up there for months now. I don't ever use it so I didn't know until one day I quite literally heard their little pigeon noises and went up. So we got them all out again and we filled the holes and then we were kind of just tearing some drywall down from the people that used to live here cuz they tried to make like false ceilings and stuff I don't know anyway we found a secret hidden nest that had two eggs in it. They weren't super cold especially for how cold it was in the attic and we did find a third egg not in a nest just like kind of kicked to the side and that one was ice cold and it didn't look like there was any way for life but these two were warmer and in the nest and a little heavier and fuller. I did put the flashlight up I don't see the heartbeat or anything yet but it does look like yours did like the first day that you were doing incubation so I'm hoping that there's still a chance I can give them life. I am using a heating pad though I don't have a light. I have grow lights for plants but they don't give off heat they're just light. I have a Easter basket that I have stuff laid down in and I have them sitting in that and the basket is on top of the heating pad and it's in my basement which is really warm it's like 85° down there. So I'm hoping between that and the heating pad that they'll be warm enough. I put the x&o for turning and I will turn them before I go to bed to the o side. And I'm just going to keep checking them every couple days I guess to see if I see any signs of life like we saw with yours. that's really helpful cuz I wasn't sure how I would even know if I was wasting my time or not or if they were alive in there. But since I don't plan on keeping them for racing or anything when is it safe for me to let him go in the wild I don't want to let him go too early and he's not going to survive especially cuz it's winter here. Which kind of surprised me to begin with cuz isn't it odd for them to lay eggs in the winter? I mean that third egg despite not also just being colder than those two Also it was like the inside was kind of stuck to the side of the egg It wasn't like flowing so that's why I figured that one is no good but these ones it wasn't like that.. Do you think it's possible that they were laid recently and have a chance or do you think they're very old and they were just sitting on them cuz they're in their nest? But if they weren't any good wouldn't they just push them out of the nest like they did the other one? And for the feeding I do have those syringes I don't have that tubing I'll have to look into getting it but why do we use the tubing Why can't you use just the tip of the syringe? Are you supposed to try to basically put it down their throat?

i just started. Last month 2 pigeons perfectly made it. This month 1 came out early within 2 weeks i found him dead in the pigeonhouse. After that parents left the other egg did not make it.. i wonder what and how it happend 😞
Maybe they just disturbed by anybody if that is the case they are stressed so much
In my opinion, birds will rarely abandon their eggs,
The mother bird will always come back to hatch n nurture their chicks,
avoid going against nature by trying to give artificial warmth or handfeed them
Some pigeons will sometimes lay eggs in a random place and not tend to it. It could because they are too young and inexperienced or because they don't have a proper nest when they have to lay eggs

I found an egg because my neighbor destroy their nest. I don’t have an incubator so I took it to my ap biology class room because they have an incubator. I can’t not be rotating the egg. Do you think that’s are gonna be a problem. The egg has veins and everything already. I can see the little heart. I rotate it in the morning and afterschool. Do you think that enough?
My grandma saw a pigeon mum leave its own egg in my backyard..I was so sad and just had to help it! So we took it home and I’m keeping in warm in my room right now…I put it in a soft cozy blanket and put the heater on so it’s warm enough to hatch, I’m not sure if the baby is alive from the mother leaving it for a few days…but I saw a little crack through the egg, then I saw some red skin I think it was…so I think it might still be alive, and it still has hope. :)
Edit: If the pandemic stops and opens the shops and the egg still hasn’t hatched, I’m gonna bring it to a bird shop and let experts keep it safe, then I’ll let them return it to me and pay them, or I could bring it to my stepdad who is an expert with birds, he should know how to do it. :)

Did you notice of the baby grew much much slower since it never had any milk from the parents? I have an 11 day old one right now that hatched from an egg and never got parents’ milk. She looks about 4 days old.

She’s been on kaytee exact since she’s hatched. She will be 12 days old tomorrow, even tho physically she looks much younger. Will it be safe to switch her over now after so many days?

Just by a chick booster and grind it using the blender turned into powder, after that get an exact amount of powder and put hot water on it, after 5 minutes it's to feed using the syringe..

Just buy 1/2 kilo chick booster or if there's none 1/2 kilo go for 1 kilo it's ok... And then grind it all you can using Blender if there is as long as the chick booster made into powder... That's the time you put hot water in the bowl with a powderised chick booster just an exact amount.... Then use syringe for easy feeding... Goodluck...

A week ago, the laughing dove laid an egg on my balcony’s plant pot. The dove periodically would fly away, max for an hour. On the eighth day (today) it flew away and has not returned even after the sunset. I’m very worried for the egg and don’t know what to do. Shall I wait till tomorrow or put it inside home. I don’t want to interfere just yet because I hope that the dove might return. But if not, what’s the possible reason, which I cannot get? I haven’t disturbed the bird so far nor touching it or its egg. And the egg itself is NOT damaged! I really don’t know what could go possibly wrong. If the creator or somebody who knows the field can suggest anything, I would really appreciate!
Just don't touch the egg after a day the dove will return to sit the egg and after that she will laid the second egg ....

You got it right to keep it warm, yes you still turn it 2 - 3 times a day until it hatch, after a couple of hours when it's feather is no longer wet by itself you can start feeding using a syringe ....

My concern is, how do i find out if its the right time to break the egg. One of my pair produce very beautiful babies but only hatch one egg. I checked other egg is always fertile and even it gets a hatching sign on its shell as well but never make it. My question here is, what day( once complete 18) can i try breaking the egg and save the baby. How do i make sure baby is fully developed by 18th day. Yes, you can help to break the shell, but be sure it's already after the first baby came out no worries about the blood will come out but don't fully out the baby Pigeon on its she'll so that it has the right time go out on its own... Just half of it's body from the shell well out... Hope this will help..

I always have pigeons laying eggs and they fail to crack after the mother has been on top of them for more than 2 weeks i try not to scare them away but guess this is the forth time new pigeons come they fail to raise their egg again can you help me out understand why
Yes you know what why the eggs are easily broken after two weeks because they lack of minerals in their body... Feed them grits composed of red stones, Taiwan soil, it helps a lot bro...
