The only Solid DT is the DT souls itself thats why Asriel doesnt melt after absorbing chara's soul
But in this case the only Sans's body part that melt is left face so its not DT

For one, I'd figure he has Determination due to the blood. But why affecting him now?
Having blood doesn't necessarily mean a monster has determination ,Most monsters probably have that,or it was just a ketchup bottle
The only monsters that ever had determination were the amalgamates and we know how that went ,and Undyne(although it wasn't mentioned if I remember correctly, it was hinted though) ,who was only able to sustain it for a small amount of time before starting to melt,One can say that Undyne would've probably been able to handle it longer if we didn't attack her,and flowey who was revived by it,other than that we haven't seen any monster deal with determination before
There is a bone in the skeleton that produces blood now don't throw the fault on determination
Maybe its his magic? Remember the fight with undyne, where she can use determination and melt?

When I was younger I used to go to this channel every day to see the next part of this comic. It is so sad it was discontinued. I have so many memories of this. But I’m not going to beg for more. San’s melting eye looks a lot like W.D Gaster. Maybe sans worked with gaster as like an apprentice and now he starting to melt into goop just like gaster.
Well in some comics gaster is sans's dad and was working with dt before he fell into the void which means sans was in concert with dt but we don't know if he abobsred any dt or get injected with dt so we don't for sure yet

I have two reason why Sans may be melting
1. Determination
This one is highly unlikely due to the fact that Sans never has been shown to be determined at all. But there is a chance since determination does cause monsters to melt. It could’ve been that he was injected with determination before, and has been able to keep it from melting him (like Undyne the Undying) till now (may explain why he so strong). But it’s highly unlikely that’s possible.
2. Fallen Down
This is a condition where monsters are either too old or their soul or magic is too weak to sustain them (like old age or organ failure) so the monster slowly starts to dust away (or melt) till they are no more, this was hinted at in the original game where Alphys used determination to help monsters that were “fallen down”, and also the title is a great giveaway. and considering Sans has been around for who knows how long, and also the fact that Sans only has 1hp and 1Def, he most likely will get the illness.
Reminds me of Glitchtale for some reason
