Well she is part of the Zephyrs to and you know how all of them are originally they're all down to earth and easygoing individuals but of course they always enjoy a good fight to which is why fie and Laura are so close as friends because the two of them can go all out and not hold anything back plus after they learned a bit about each other in the first game they're a little conflict with each other stopped and they became good friends that often trained together fie Emma and Laura we're always the closest to each other
I wished every time Rean had any kind of romantic scene with Fie, they would have Zephyr off in the distance like making slashing motions across their necks at him.....
Seriously, to his other female students Rean is just like “no we have to wait it’s not right.” Then with Musse he’s like “nah I need you now.” Guess Altina and Juna should have been following Musse’s lead all along.

I swear though the old scenes with Musse were so hilarious. There was a scene where she tries to hug him and Rean does the matrix dodge to avoid it and goes "Whew that was close! I'm your teacher!"
Honestly, I liked Towa in CS1, CS2 and I tolerated her in CS3, but for whatever reason in CS4 I just didn't like her at all. I hated her. Anything she was saying I'd just skip through by the end of the game. Although I realise I'm inciting the hatred of probably the entire Trails community by saying this but I just can't help it.
Yep I completely agree. A lot of people joke about this being fanservice, but there's a lot of seriousness in these scenes. The bonding events were also really well-done and show you a completely different side to the characters.
I wish Rean was fully voiced in all of these cutscenes. It’s the romantic climax of his relationship that has (possibly) been building up the entire 4 games, and only the girl is actually heard during it. It’s just a shame they didn’t get his lines voiced for these. Also, in the cave, Laura stole Rean’s first kiss when he was saving it for Fie. She earned the top spot on my hit list.
Well if you romance Alisa in TOCS 2 or 3 you practically become a makeout artist with her. But since all these romance scenes happen in optional portions of the story anyway there's probably no actual "canon" first kiss...that I can think of anyway.
@@Negajoe I think you’re right, but in my playthrough Laura was the first one to ever kiss Rean and it was during the cave scene. I swear my jaw was dropped for like five minutes.
Haha yeah but she genuinely has an amazing backstory, I like that the characters aren't just flanderized, you look at Sara and her history and there's so much detail to it.
After seeing all these back to back like this it makes me picture a 40 something Rean going around to different little towns and telling girls he is 'The Sacrifice" and he has a little guy hiding in the bushes that he pays to set off fire works at just the right moment......
I don't get why people hate on Alisa, specially about her first special moment. She's the one who has more developement when it comes to her feelings, not going straight to being "in love" but having doubts, even feeling like she can't be with Rean because of how the events are affecting her loved ones. Not saying she must be everybody's choice or that she is the best, but she is a more complex character who, as the cannon love interest, is given more to go through during the games and it's understandable the way she behaves, as a lot of people do these same things On the other hand, yeah, Fie is absolutely the best one along with Towa, cried from laughter with those two
I've only played reverie, but i really like Alisa, Altina, and Fie in that game. If i play this game at some point i think i would go with 1. Alisa or 2. Altina. I just wish Altina was 5-7 years older, but Japan says no.
I disagree. Alisa's drama doesn't work very well. She was feeling terrible about the situation but that goes for almost all the girls, each one tried to deal with the situation in theyown way with they own arc. How exactly did Alisa try to deal with the situation she found herself in? Moving away from Rean, someone who was in a delicate situation and needed help at the worst time of his life. How does this help anything? Rean would still have to fight in Rivalries (he was the sacrifice) and they would still have to face Black Alberich and Sharon... They tried to make the classic “rich girl with shitty family can't be with the person she loves because her family will ruin the relationship trope, but it was the worst time to do it. Meanwhile, other girls are also “failing”, but with the best of intentions and trying to help Rean. For example: Emma. Emma at the beginning of the game was unable to save Rean and blames herself for what happened. Since CS1 she was shy and passive, obedient and cowardly but she develops with Rean's help and has love/respect for him and in CS4 in an act of courage she is willing to risk everything to save Rean from being the sacrifice, even risking her life, showing disobedience against her clan and using a forbidden spell. After failing, Rean is furious at Emma's actions, saying that she is wrong to break the clan's rules (like Vita) and to try to sacrifice herself for him, but Emma is also angry at Rean and throws it in his face how hypocritical he is because he is always sacrificing himself for others but rejecting when someone tries to do the same for him, she still says that Rean is worse than Crow. But they both soon understand each other because they understand the situation. There’s no need for more drama. In the end, Emma and Alisa made mistakes in different ways, trying to do what they considered right. I just think Emma worked better because I can understand her actions, while Alisa's drama doesn't make much sense and goes on for too long. Emma is driven by her own flaws. Alisa is driven by her family's failures. People don't like Alisa because she has always been privileged.
What's funny is when i got to Laura's scene she asks "how many times have you done this before?"...and i think it was my 8th trophy by that point lol. I would encourage anyone who is going for all those trophies to do hers as one of the last :)
While trophy hunting I spent all my tickets on the Ferris Wheel and when I invited Juna Rean was all like "Believe it or not, this is my first riding one"
To tell you the truth I'm surprised that they did not add Sharon as a possible romance option or duvily or rose or Celine as hidden optional Romance characters
Towa might be my personal favorite, but I think Rean has the most chemistry with Emma. I love the Awakener/Witch dynamic which is why I can also get behind Crow/Vita. Rean and Celine getting to hang out is a good bonus. Rean/Sara fans are definitely winning with this one tho
Thanks for posting a compilation of these. Finding them in English to go with who I liked most beforehand was pretty hard. I wish someone would show the Fairy Spring scene the next day, and the dialogue changes back on the Courageous and in the last dungeon, but expecting anyone to go through the trouble of that is just being greedy. Idk what I find funnier--the fact that Fie basically spelled out for Rean that she's legal now, or the fact that Rean, confessing his love, still calls Sara "Instructor" 🤣🤣🤣
Man, it's so hard to choose a favorite in these games. Ultimately I went the whole Towa route through all games. She's the best support character in any game so far. The scene in which her aunt tells Rean to marry Towa so she can stop overworking herself and take time actually being happy hit hard. They knew she was bottling up all her feelings over the years. And truly becoming somewhat of a conclusion and being able to move on after unloading all her fellings on Rean was extreme. Her interactions throughout the four games were all wholesome as heck especially at the end of 2 apologizing to her and she just hugged him let me fall for her all together. But also the others are extremely strong choices Alisa: struggles with her own feelings thinking she wouldn't deserve Rean for how she treated him at first and then finding out that her father got possessed and put Rean through most of the shit in his life. Laura: ultimately not knowing where her life is going but seeing Rean just giving himself up made her so angry that she couldn't just stand by and let it happen. Emma: helping him through all the games without taking too much action but always being there for him when he needed someone. Fie: not sure about her but she seemed to take a liking of Rean in the first game without them being too obvious about it. In the second though she just jumped on him during their meeting showed that she thinks of him as a dependable and good person. Alfin: she's Elises best friend, knows about her feelings and tries to suppress her own admiring Rean for being such an awesome and loving big brother (and even saying she would love to be a part of their family) Elise: must be hard to fall in love with your adoptive brother having those conflicting feelings but ultimately making up her mind (knowing her parents I don't think they'd ultimately be against it) Juna: overcoming her hatred towards the Empire made her realize that Rean saved her and her siblings lives and experiencing first hand how much Rean cares for others made her fall in love with him Altina: she struggles alot knowing she's just an artificial humanoid and thus having that gnawing doubt of deserving all the affection she gets. Just let us adopt her q.q Musse: she ultimately just wants to be a normal girl/woman and being loved as anyone else but thinks that people just see her as this master strategist that only uses other people as pawns. That's why she's so flustered at this scene.
Yeah, Towa has the kinds of qualities anyone would look for, that's for sure. It's funny how even though there are so many choices, all of them seem legitimately compatible with him because he'd developed friendships with all of them already.
I was always a Rean/Emma fan. Something about their relationship is so sincere. I guess you could make arguments with all of them but to me Rean and Emma is different. I imagine a lot of it has to do with the Awakener and Witch dynamic but they grow beyond that too. Like in CS4 when Emma enters into Rean’s astral space to try and quell his inner demon even knowing that it might destroy her soul in the process but Rean wasn’t having any of that. He saves her because he didn’t want her to sacrifice herself just for him. That event completely validates the relationship for me because it shows how far they’re willing to go for each other.
Yeah I know what you're talking about. Honestly when I played CS1 and didn't know the plot, I kept thinking that Rean was secretly a witch's son because Rean and Emma have a really close relationship somehow. That scene where Emma goes into Rean was one of the best friendship/romance scenes in the whole series for the reasons you mentioned.
@@BAIGAMING I can’t say that I ever thought that Rean was the son of a witch but I can see why you might would say that especially since you really didn’t know what was going on until the story progressed. I saw from previous comments that you’re a Rean/Towa fan. I do like that pairing. The scene in CS2 where Rean breaks down and let’s everything out in front of Towa must’ve done it for you. To be fair, there are other great moments btw those two but that moment might be the highest but at the same time lowest point of all their interactions together.
Just stuck to Alisa from the start because i wanted to see the canon route first. And because of the abricot jam. And the grownup office angel outfit didn't hurt either!
I fully intend to forever remain salty, that Claire isnt one of the options, they had great chemistry in CS3 and CS4 would have added the right amount of tragedy into the romance. Instead we get Juna and Altina out of nowhere.
Yeah it was sad, you can get more cutscenes with Claire if you find and give her her gift but I wish she was an option. Celine should've been an option too because she has a body.
I know my opinion won’t be very reciprocated here but I honestly really disliked Claire. In the first couple games she was okay, but come CS3 and 4 she just became an icy (pun intended) shell of a woman and put “duty” above the people she loved and cared for. i.e. Millium.
Ah Laura i chosed her for games 1 and 2 so she is who i would stick with through all for she is of what i consider a challange to get as a romance mostly in the first game and the most popular choices were among the other girls so when i had seen that Laura had not been that popular i made my choice to go with her because in my opinion she is the best and honestly the most honest girl whom has been trained in the way of the sword and has a hard time with other stuff that doesn't involve what she hasnt had a chance to work with much like the whole first impression she gave with alissa's reaction to seeing that she was sitting on reans stomach Laura didn't see it as anything more than as rean being helpful and being a gentleman while alissa called him a pervert for her misunderstanding
Yeah I agree, Laura is really innocent, but I always feel like she's too focused on work and sword practice, she really deserves to relax and have romance.

For me Towa's my first, Emma's a close second and I'm really happy we got to see her home in this game. Musse's probably my third, she's thirsty af haha I swear in CS3 she tries to kiss Rean and Rean does the matrix bullet dodge move to dodge it, I've never laughed so hard in my life 😅
Yo im with you on this! Nobody tries to keep rean safe as much as she does. From keeping his power under control to almost sacrificing herself to kill the curse inside him, she's a ride or die girl for him
I always chose Fie since CS1 so, of course, I wanted to see their ending here. But still, it really felt so wrong when it was Alisa who got more canon romantic scenes than everyone. I didn't dislike the freedom that they gave us with this saga but, at the end, I hope that we're never going to see this mechanic ever again. Just think about the Calvard's end. If we're going to see everyone after two or three years who will be Rean's partner? Probably noone in my opinion (or they'll simply ignore that point or they could say something like "it wasn't easy but now Rean and Alisa are a couple), and that would just make me more disappointed.
Oh, hi fellow Fie fan. They really pushed Alisa to be the canon choice, same with Elie in Zero/Ao, I kinda hated it too. From what I understood they want to move away from this mechanic in the Calvard series, thankfully there is also no bonding events in Hajimari, they just deduce whom you picked in Cold Steel 4 and give like 1 or 2 events with that character. P.S. The thing that I hate the most in this is that all the other girls whom Rean didn't chose will (probably) stay alone forever because it would be hard to make some new guy for them later down the line if they don't make someone canon, which will disappoint a lot of players too. (At least Millium got out of the Rean's clutches, which I'm oddly thankful for)
@@IxNoiRxI Yeah, you're right. I'd like to ship them with anyone but I suppose that won't be possible. That's a shame. The mechanic is not bad per se but only if you can manage it and when you have a big cast it's very difficult to give the right satisfaction to everyone.
Which is why I’m hoping maybe in the very last Trails game (assuming Rean is a playable character) that they’ll let us date one of the girls one last time. That way it’ll feel complete considering that would be the last entry. Oh top of Joshua finally proposing to Estelle as well as the other protagonists of the future arcs or something along those lines. I’d die happy if they do this.
Same here on Fie! Her character development was wonderfully done. Got to love her personality, along with her backstory which I personally think is one of the best.
Man, as much as I appreciate getting these games in English at all. I wish that NISA had done the XSeed thing and added more voice acting for the western release. Rean being pretty much silent for all of these kind of takes me out.
From what I've been told, XSeed had to pretty much remake the first two games from scratch to include the new voice lines since the Japanese version didn't have any voice files for those silent scenes. They initially remade them to port them to PC and decided to add more voice lines while they were at it.
From what I know the Japanese voice actor for rean is very known and quite expensive for a game like CS to be 80 hours in 4 games and so on so if anything budget and had Sean chip lock got the same treatment for the English lacking voices

@@cotymedeiros2153 I kind of wonder if she's actually a hidden romance character that has such a convoluted and difficult process of how to unlock it to the point to where it takes several years to discover it and also she has feelings for rean as well so I don't know why the game creators would cut her out of rean's possible lovers I think they could have also included Rose as well because I did actually see signs that Rose actually liked rean as well because she did let it slip a couple times even though she hid it quite well I wonder if they were cut content due to being rushed by the deadline to have the games release 🤔

Laura best girl to me, been with her ever since cs1. Seeing as she is the only one that is somewhat close to Rean with following the way of the blade and then being the only one who kisses him in the bonding events, I mean come on
I love her voice. And I love the dichotomy of her character, that she's a refined, dignified young noble but at the same time very physically strong and a skilled, powerful up-and-coming swordfighter.
That's just bias mate, she's not the only one close to Rean, kiseki made an overall good job with the romance balance, in most of them Rean will share a special link with his partner, it's not just Laura, most of them have it
@@calvin10 I think she did fairly well to capture Laura's speech patterns. But I imagine it'd be difficult for any va to match someone who had like 3 games to nail down a voice and character.
Legend of Heroes: Trials of Identity Crisis. Seriously almost everyone in the Cold Steel series has an identity crisis at some point lol, the Altina scene reminded me of that.
I just finished. I was going to pick alisa just for canon sake but ill be damned if Emma didnt win it for me this time. It felt so organic throughout the game for me. Especially since the story bounced off them so many times in my opinion. But when i look back from part 1 emma went from the shy no friend type to a strong confident and helpful friend which i really appreciate alot.
I made a coin toss to pick between Laura and Emma since laura was my fav on the 1st 2 games and emma in the later 2. Eventually got laura. So picked emma first, save, reload then pick laura and continue with the game. Though i qould also like to have claire as an option to have a little romeoXjuliet action
Yeah it's such a terrible decision, I played recent games that seem similarly low budget like Scarlet Nexus that have every single line voiced. They really should've had him voice these important scenes 😫
The more I think of it, the more it seems to me that Juna would fit Rean the most. He needs someone as caring as her, in his life. It would be like her to force him to go to bed in time and not skip lunch. Even if I personally prefer Fie.

I loved Alisa in the first 2 but Emma was my ultimate choice cause I literally feel for her after playing the 1st first through the second time. But I did do 5 endings like this but Emma was the one I went to the final boss with. Alisa was the second to go that far. I loved Laura too in all 4 but she was way to similar to rean to me so I did her relationship ending but that was it. And Sara and towa was special so I did them as well. Towa will be 3 on my list of final boss run. If you unlock the second endign you'll get a photo of the one you choose at the end and the relationship for that will officially start too.
I think altina's is the best as far as growth goes. Seeing her change like that and get so emotional almost make me cry, and I'm not one to do that in most cases.
And it wasn't just that event. That gradual growth was seen in pretty much all her bonding events. Like that one where she's struggling with an art assignment, Rean suggests painting something she feels strongly about, and she immediately points at him.
The bros before hoes one is probably the best. I like to think that Rean knowing he could die soon didn't want to make any commitment with anyone he also spends that time with crow, someone that not only is in the same situation as him, but that also was with him since the first game
Juna felt awkward. Alisa has always been reans little wifey But then again Emma makes it hard to just choose Alisa. Laura chill asf but kinda wierd too. Musse is just a quick hit. Fie is actually more chill than I'd imagine. Sara was more of a mature.....let's not beat around the bush and get it. Towa was like you are paying for all the short JOKES RN LOL. Elise is the stepsister just put her in a dryer......all in all the best woman would be Emma for me.
Choosing a girl in this game is one of the most difficult task I ever seen in a videogame. They all are amazing and it was very hard for me to actually choose the perfect one... However I cut off some of the girl trying to be in Rean's shoes and using my own logic: Elize: I know she's not a blood-related-sister for Rean but they grew up like they were so I would feel a little awkard to choose Elize as my girl even if she's really beautiful and with a very strong heart. Altina: Altina is the one who really grew much in the whole saga. She started like a sort of "robot" in the second game to become much more like a human in the end but still I can't see her as a love interest. I Think of her more like a little sister or even a daugther. By the way, since Altina and Millium were created by Alisa's father, aren't they some sort of sisters for Alisa herself? Alisa: I was really in love with Alisa in the first two games. She may be the "canon" girl of the game but she's also beautiful and a strong character. The reason because I didn't choose her in the final is because she "friendzoned" Rean in the first "heart" bond event in this game so I think: "Have you left me? Well, then I go choosing another girl" Sara: I love Sara, really, but I wanted to stay rational for the sake of my choice. It's not because of the age gap between the two (20 Rean and 28 Sara) but there's something about her that would make feel weird in choosing her. Could be that sometimes she may be such "immature" or something. I don't really know but I just don't feel good in choosing her. Emma: I don't really know why but I never see her like a girlfriend. She's beautiful expecially in the last game but I alwyas underrated her and maybe this was my mistake but it's just as i felt for her. Excluding these five, the choice for me was between the other six and it was not an easy task. Eventually, my final rankings is: 1) Musse 2) Alfin 3) Towa 4) Juna 5) Fie 6) Laura I think that the most beautiful one is Juna, there is nothing I don't like of her but she can't reach my heart like the other. Fie was my real true love in the first two games (even more than Alisa) but, same of Juna, she can't reach my heart in its entirety. Laura is also good and when she kissed Rean in the first bond event caught me by surprise. I had always considered her as a girl who thinks only to her training and nothing else but I was wrong. And finally the first 3 of the chart. -Towa. Totally underrated in the first games, she may be "short" or looks like a little girl but she's really amazing and beautiful I remember in a bond event in one of the first two games when in bareahard Angelica made her let her hair loose. There I saw the true potential of this "shorty". And I remember also when Rean found her twice sleeping in her office. Towa is the most natural choice in the real life. Rean and her shared many time together, even more than anyone else, expecially now since the two work both in the same place. But Towa is only number 3. -Alfin. Who am I kidding? Beside being "only" the number 2, Alfin in my opinion is the sweetest girl. I don't care if she's the princess of Erebonia, I care only for her as a girl. SHe's still young but she also demonstrated that she can follow her duty as a princess. Her english dubber (the same as Fie's) made a real great job in make her so sweet and adorable. I think I would have chosen her 100% of times if someone hadn't show up to steal the show -MUSSE o Mildine Juselit de Cayenne, I don't care. She's number one for me, the only girl who made me really jealous in the last bond event because I wanted to be Rean expecially when he strongly take her near him and hug her like nobody else. She may started like a "rotten girl" using people only for her own purpose but eventually she changed and grew up. She even apologized for her mistakes and that for me is more than enough. even if they are not "bondable" I want to end this long comment about two other girls who I liked... Leonora of the branch campus and Vivi. Two interesting girls in my opinion. Sorry for the long comment and sorry if my english wasn't perfect.
Thank you for this comment, it makes sense to me. People laugh but it's actually true, it's tough to choose a woman for Rean, they all have good character development especially if you do all of their supports. I really enjoyed Celine, I wish she was an option, she was there for Rean many times like the ending of the first Cold Steel and beginning of the second Cold Steel, as well as helping him out in 4.

@@BAIGAMING This is very late and probably irrelevant but i just finished playing CS4 and i felt like i needed to just add my perspective to your comment regarding Celine. She, even though she is a cat familiar, she is the closest character, relationship wise, that ever existed in this series to Rean outside of Elise. After the situations that lead Elise to have her life endangered indirectly by Celine in CS1 on the old Schoolhouse, Celine learned to become more conscious of her role in class's VII lives. Doing so, allowed her to have an opportunity to become closer to Rean while becoming her mentor, together with Emma, in magical related subjects, throught CS1 to CS4. But in the end of CS1 and beginning CS2 specially, Rean got into a point in the story where he was uniquelly frustrated with his own existance in that narrative. I remember how much Rean threw his frustrations unto Celine, partially because of her decision to make sure Rean would live on without his friends, but mostly because Celine was simply there, the only one physically close to him. Still, because Celine was close to Rean, both were able to grow from that tension between them. Celine learned to understand what it means to be a human and Rean started to learn how to understand on how to handle his own failings and limitations as a single person instead of relying on his allies. From there, Celine was the most important and relevant character to mirror Rean's flaws to himself, though both wisdom and brutal honesty, that rarely other character would even try to do. At the end of CS3 and during 2 months after in CS4, where Rean was jailed, Celine was there again for him. She must have gone through so much hardship being completely alone while being coerced from the Black Workshop into maintaining Rean into a more controlled state that i couldn't stop thinking how horrible it must have been for her to have to survive all that... completely alone with no one way of knowing how or where everyone else were, specially Emma. Going through all the situations from CS1 to CS4 that grew her personality to a very human state, i'm very surprised that Celine was not allowed to have a true relationship with Rean. They understand each other very well, she learned to become something she was originally not, a human form, just to better interact with Rean, they both expressed to each other progressive levels of mutual respect and understanding, and she is incredibly cute to boot. I was very dissapointed such an important character on Rean's life just to be relegated into such an irrelevant relationship. She is by far my favourite character in the series and Rean would never even be alive if it wasn't for her being there for him. Even if you can argue that that is true for other characters in Rean's life, Celine, for me, is just incredibly special. Who wouldn't want to have a companion just like Celine in their lives? Wise, intuitive, pacient, devoted, with a very strong sense of duty, even if you are angry at her. Her human character design is very creative and cute as well. Oh well, at least they gave us a glimpse of her human form. Sorry for the wall of text.
Whenever I come to a long replay I'll generally take Alisa as I like to do a 'canon' playthrough but Altina is by far the best in this. Her character growth over 3 and 4 is just unmatched.
I usually go Alisa for the same reason, but I went with Fie this game after Alisa got all "wishy-washy" in this one. It's the first time I had to think about it in the series. Abandoning your partner when both of you are going through hard times is one of the worst character traits you can get in a long-term relationship. I know it was to make it easier to pick someone else after 3 games of making the non-Alisa bonding endings as romanceless as possible, but it still rubbed me the wrong way.
Funny how everyone seem to have a problem with Rean-Elise all the while worshipping Estelle and Joshua who were in the exact same situation and got in a relationship
I really liked her hometown too! I like Celine a lot, she was always with Rean like the ending of Cold Steel 2 and the beginning or middle of Cold Steel 4.

My thoughts on each one: .Emma: my choice. She was one of the people who most supported Rean in the entire CS arc. Her "alchemy" with him is one of the most cute ones. This scene is the example of that. .Alisa: I don't like or dislike Alisa. She was supossed to be the "canon" girl (like Elie was in Crossbell games). Still, I didn't find Alisa an interesting character and I think Juna was handled better (with less Time on screen). .Laura: I like Laura. I don't love her, but She is agreeable for me. She has a mutual respect Rship with Rean that I respect. I admit that She has the best romance scene in Cold Steel 4. That Cave scene was surely.. cool I guess?. .Sara: I'm into Onee-samas and Milfs so of course I like a Lot Sara. From teasing Rean to be the subject of his teasing. Nothing much to say about the Big Oppai Instructor. Just summon 'Brahma'. Fie: She was likeable. Not one of My favorites, but her scenes with Rean were fun. This one was one of the most funniest/cute ones of Fie. Musse: I... don't care so much about her. So, Let's keep going... Kidding. I think Musse is the "Momo" (To Love Ru) of this series. If you know what I mean, then you already know my answer. Elise: SHE HAD TO BE PATRICK'S GF. You WON'T CHANGE MY MIND. Alfin: Likeable, maybe. One of Erebonia's treasures.. that is in the hand of the Harem King Of EREBONIA. Sadly. Altina: I like her evolution as a character, but I don't think that She and Rean make a good couple. They look better as "brothers" or "father and daughter" or just friends. Towa: She is the perfect example of what "cutesy" and "loveable" means. She has some of the most cute and sad sentimental scenes with Rean. They COULD BE a wholesome couple. So, of course I approve 100% If you ship her with Rean. Juna: how they did that with Juna?. She deserved more, much more than that "you are just my student for now" treatment. If Rean did that to Musse, Altina and even Alfin, WHY He didn't do the same thing to Juna?. Juna was definitely one of My favorite female CS characters. I disliked her at first, but her growth and how honest She was with her feelings make me like a TSUNDERE GIRL (I hate Tsunderes, that is why it's surprising). No One: BROS BEFORE HOES

I agree, I can understand that maybe it's too much work to voice cutscenes with all the characters in them, but for these 2 people romance scenes they really should've had him voiced.
Xseed went the extra mile for CS 1 and 2. That game had this issue too, but Xseed decided to fix it for the English Dub. NISA on the other hand, is well known for being lazy and kinda shit when it comes to their ports/localizations. No surprise they went with the bare minimum. God Xseed spoiled us :/
The romance scenes are so good... now if only the main story of each of these games stopped constantly trying to put Rean and Alisa together anyway despite who he's actually been dating.
@AfroNagoriyuki I don't know if I would say worst girl, but it's obvious who they intended to ship Rean with from the beginning. I wouldn't be surprised if at least for the first game they originally had it as a straight love story between Rean and Alisa and the whole relationship mechanic was thrown in later on in development, because they made no attempt to adjust the story at all around who Rean was dating.
Thanks for posting all these. Its interesting to see all the different interactions. All the romancing students and underage kids is just weird and wrong in so many ways 😂 Ive been a Towa fan since CS1 so i had to go with her. I always enjoyed their interactions throughout the series and they have so much respect for each other. Rean needs to lay off the short jokes though! 😅
I really liked the Towa interaction in Cold Steel 1 too, I liked it a lot because she wasn't in Class 7 and it felt very different. Towa, George and Angelica were an amazing group back then with really great dialog. I remember Cold Steel 3 was hilarious because it had a scene with Musse about to hug Rean, and Rean does a matrix move to dodge it and goes "whew that was a close one".

@@durinV In terms of underlying family relationship I agree that Estelle/Joshua and Rean/Elise are the same. They even have the whole dynamic of meeting the first time a fair ways into their lives. But somehow Rean/Elise felt weird anyway. As for why, definitely her being "just another girl that's into Rean" didn't help. It being one-sided until CS4 didn't help either. Rean and Elise were also much younger when they first met, to the point that Elise apparently took several years to understand that Rean was adopted.
@@Latronibus I think the difference is that Estelle and Joshua met when they were 11, so right on the verge of going into puberty and it's also revealed that Joshua loved Estelle pretty much from the beginning. He never once really viewed her as a sister. She was always something very different to him. It's heavily implied that Estelle always felt the same way too, but she just didn't realize it until later because dense main characters will be dense. Her school friends definitely seemed to notice what was really going on though, as did pretty much everyone in the entire cast except for Cassius. With Rean and Elise, they actually weren't that far along in life when they met. Rean was 6 and Elise was 3. She can't even remember a time in her life where Rean wasn't her big brother and she thought he actually was her brother for many years before learning the truth and discovering her romantic feelings for him. Rean as well legitimately thought of Elise as his little sister and that's why he's caught so completely off guard when she confesses to him. He never allowed himself to think of her in that way before. Basically with Rean and Elise, their connection as siblings has way more emphasis placed on it, so when the game begins exploring the possibility of a romantic relationship between them, it just feels weird.

Honestly, I liked Towa in CS1, CS2 and I tolerated her in CS3, but for whatever reason in CS4 I just didn't like her at all. I hated her. Anything she was saying I'd just skip through by the end of the game. Although I realise I'm inciting the hatred of probably the entire Trails community by saying this but I just can't help it.

Yep I completely agree. A lot of people joke about this being fanservice, but there's a lot of seriousness in these scenes. The bonding events were also really well-done and show you a completely different side to the characters.

I wish Rean was fully voiced in all of these cutscenes. It’s the romantic climax of his relationship that has (possibly) been building up the entire 4 games, and only the girl is actually heard during it. It’s just a shame they didn’t get his lines voiced for these.
Also, in the cave, Laura stole Rean’s first kiss when he was saving it for Fie. She earned the top spot on my hit list.

I don't get why people hate on Alisa, specially about her first special moment. She's the one who has more developement when it comes to her feelings, not going straight to being "in love" but having doubts, even feeling like she can't be with Rean because of how the events are affecting her loved ones. Not saying she must be everybody's choice or that she is the best, but she is a more complex character who, as the cannon love interest, is given more to go through during the games and it's understandable the way she behaves, as a lot of people do these same things
On the other hand, yeah, Fie is absolutely the best one along with Towa, cried from laughter with those two
I've only played reverie, but i really like Alisa, Altina, and Fie in that game. If i play this game at some point i think i would go with 1. Alisa or 2. Altina.

I disagree. Alisa's drama doesn't work very well. She was feeling terrible about the situation but that goes for almost all the girls, each one tried to deal with the situation in theyown way with they own arc.
How exactly did Alisa try to deal with the situation she found herself in? Moving away from Rean, someone who was in a delicate situation and needed help at the worst time of his life. How does this help anything? Rean would still have to fight in Rivalries (he was the sacrifice) and they would still have to face Black Alberich and Sharon... They tried to make the classic “rich girl with shitty family can't be with the person she loves because her family will ruin the relationship trope, but it was the worst time to do it.
Meanwhile, other girls are also “failing”, but with the best of intentions and trying to help Rean. For example: Emma. Emma at the beginning of the game was unable to save Rean and blames herself for what happened. Since CS1 she was shy and passive, obedient and cowardly but she develops with Rean's help and has love/respect for him and in CS4 in an act of courage she is willing to risk everything to save Rean from being the sacrifice, even risking her life, showing disobedience against her clan and using a forbidden spell. After failing, Rean is furious at Emma's actions, saying that she is wrong to break the clan's rules (like Vita) and to try to sacrifice herself for him, but Emma is also angry at Rean and throws it in his face how hypocritical he is because he is always sacrificing himself for others but rejecting when someone tries to do the same for him, she still says that Rean is worse than Crow. But they both soon understand each other because they understand the situation. There’s no need for more drama.
In the end, Emma and Alisa made mistakes in different ways, trying to do what they considered right. I just think Emma worked better because I can understand her actions, while Alisa's drama doesn't make much sense and goes on for too long. Emma is driven by her own flaws. Alisa is driven by her family's failures.
People don't like Alisa because she has always been privileged.
What's funny is when i got to Laura's scene she asks "how many times have you done this before?"...and i think it was my 8th trophy by that point lol. I would encourage anyone who is going for all those trophies to do hers as one of the last :)

Man, it's so hard to choose a favorite in these games. Ultimately I went the whole Towa route through all games. She's the best support character in any game so far. The scene in which her aunt tells Rean to marry Towa so she can stop overworking herself and take time actually being happy hit hard. They knew she was bottling up all her feelings over the years. And truly becoming somewhat of a conclusion and being able to move on after unloading all her fellings on Rean was extreme.
Her interactions throughout the four games were all wholesome as heck especially at the end of 2 apologizing to her and she just hugged him let me fall for her all together.
But also the others are extremely strong choices
Alisa: struggles with her own feelings thinking she wouldn't deserve Rean for how she treated him at first and then finding out that her father got possessed and put Rean through most of the shit in his life.
Laura: ultimately not knowing where her life is going but seeing Rean just giving himself up made her so angry that she couldn't just stand by and let it happen.
Emma: helping him through all the games without taking too much action but always being there for him when he needed someone.
Fie: not sure about her but she seemed to take a liking of Rean in the first game without them being too obvious about it. In the second though she just jumped on him during their meeting showed that she thinks of him as a dependable and good person.
Alfin: she's Elises best friend, knows about her feelings and tries to suppress her own admiring Rean for being such an awesome and loving big brother (and even saying she would love to be a part of their family)
Elise: must be hard to fall in love with your adoptive brother having those conflicting feelings but ultimately making up her mind (knowing her parents I don't think they'd ultimately be against it)
Juna: overcoming her hatred towards the Empire made her realize that Rean saved her and her siblings lives and experiencing first hand how much Rean cares for others made her fall in love with him
Altina: she struggles alot knowing she's just an artificial humanoid and thus having that gnawing doubt of deserving all the affection she gets. Just let us adopt her q.q
Musse: she ultimately just wants to be a normal girl/woman and being loved as anyone else but thinks that people just see her as this master strategist that only uses other people as pawns. That's why she's so flustered at this scene.
I'm still disappointed that Rean didn't bust out the adoption papers in Altina's scene

Yeah, Towa has the kinds of qualities anyone would look for, that's for sure. It's funny how even though there are so many choices, all of them seem legitimately compatible with him because he'd developed friendships with all of them already.
I was always a Rean/Emma fan. Something about their relationship is so sincere. I guess you could make arguments with all of them but to me Rean and Emma is different. I imagine a lot of it has to do with the Awakener and Witch dynamic but they grow beyond that too. Like in CS4 when Emma enters into Rean’s astral space to try and quell his inner demon even knowing that it might destroy her soul in the process but Rean wasn’t having any of that. He saves her because he didn’t want her to sacrifice herself just for him. That event completely validates the relationship for me because it shows how far they’re willing to go for each other.
Yeah I know what you're talking about. Honestly when I played CS1 and didn't know the plot, I kept thinking that Rean was secretly a witch's son because Rean and Emma have a really close relationship somehow. That scene where Emma goes into Rean was one of the best friendship/romance scenes in the whole series for the reasons you mentioned.

I saw from previous comments that you’re a Rean/Towa fan. I do like that pairing. The scene in CS2 where Rean breaks down and let’s everything out in front of Towa must’ve done it for you. To be fair, there are other great moments btw those two but that moment might be the highest but at the same time lowest point of all their interactions together.

I know my opinion won’t be very reciprocated here but I honestly really disliked Claire. In the first couple games she was okay, but come CS3 and 4 she just became an icy (pun intended) shell of a woman and put “duty” above the people she loved and cared for. i.e. Millium.

I always chose Fie since CS1 so, of course, I wanted to see their ending here. But still, it really felt so wrong when it was Alisa who got more canon romantic scenes than everyone. I didn't dislike the freedom that they gave us with this saga but, at the end, I hope that we're never going to see this mechanic ever again.
Just think about the Calvard's end. If we're going to see everyone after two or three years who will be Rean's partner? Probably noone in my opinion (or they'll simply ignore that point or they could say something like "it wasn't easy but now Rean and Alisa are a couple), and that would just make me more disappointed.

They really pushed Alisa to be the canon choice, same with Elie in Zero/Ao, I kinda hated it too.
From what I understood they want to move away from this mechanic in the Calvard series, thankfully there is also no bonding events in Hajimari, they just deduce whom you picked in Cold Steel 4 and give like 1 or 2 events with that character.
P.S. The thing that I hate the most in this is that all the other girls whom Rean didn't chose will (probably) stay alone forever because it would be hard to make some new guy for them later down the line if they don't make someone canon, which will disappoint a lot of players too. (At least Millium got out of the Rean's clutches, which I'm oddly thankful for)

The mechanic is not bad per se but only if you can manage it and when you have a big cast it's very difficult to give the right satisfaction to everyone.

Man, as much as I appreciate getting these games in English at all. I wish that NISA had done the XSeed thing and added more voice acting for the western release. Rean being pretty much silent for all of these kind of takes me out.
I heard the japanese version also have a little voice
From what I've been told, XSeed had to pretty much remake the first two games from scratch to include the new voice lines since the Japanese version didn't have any voice files for those silent scenes. They initially remade them to port them to PC and decided to add more voice lines while they were at it.
From what I know the Japanese voice actor for rean is very known and quite expensive for a game like CS to be 80 hours in 4 games and so on so if anything budget and had Sean chip lock got the same treatment for the English lacking voices

I love her voice. And I love the dichotomy of her character, that she's a refined, dignified young noble but at the same time very physically strong and a skilled, powerful up-and-coming swordfighter.
That's just bias mate, she's not the only one close to Rean, kiseki made an overall good job with the romance balance, in most of them Rean will share a special link with his partner, it's not just Laura, most of them have it

I just finished. I was going to pick alisa just for canon sake but ill be damned if Emma didnt win it for me this time. It felt so organic throughout the game for me. Especially since the story bounced off them so many times in my opinion. But when i look back from part 1 emma went from the shy no friend type to a strong confident and helpful friend which i really appreciate alot.
I made a coin toss to pick between Laura and Emma since laura was my fav on the 1st 2 games and emma in the later 2. Eventually got laura. So picked emma first, save, reload then pick laura and continue with the game. Though i qould also like to have claire as an option to have a little romeoXjuliet action

I loved Alisa in the first 2 but Emma was my ultimate choice cause I literally feel for her after playing the 1st first through the second time. But I did do 5 endings like this but Emma was the one I went to the final boss with. Alisa was the second to go that far. I loved Laura too in all 4 but she was way to similar to rean to me so I did her relationship ending but that was it. And Sara and towa was special so I did them as well. Towa will be 3 on my list of final boss run. If you unlock the second endign you'll get a photo of the one you choose at the end and the relationship for that will officially start too.
I think altina's is the best as far as growth goes. Seeing her change like that and get so emotional almost make me cry, and I'm not one to do that in most cases.
I chose Fie, but damn Altina had the most emotional event out of all of the girls.
Probably the best character development in all of new Class VII by far.
And it wasn't just that event. That gradual growth was seen in pretty much all her bonding events. Like that one where she's struggling with an art assignment, Rean suggests painting something she feels strongly about, and she immediately points at him.

Juna felt awkward. Alisa has always been reans little wifey But then again Emma makes it hard to just choose Alisa. Laura chill asf but kinda wierd too. Musse is just a quick hit. Fie is actually more chill than I'd imagine. Sara was more of a mature.....let's not beat around the bush and get it. Towa was like you are paying for all the short JOKES RN LOL. Elise is the stepsister just put her in a dryer......all in all the best woman would be Emma for me.

I picked Laura since CS1 and I'm glad I still pick her till CS4 though I did like Sara and Juna also.
Choosing a girl in this game is one of the most difficult task I ever seen in a videogame. They all are amazing and it was very hard for me to actually choose the perfect one... However I cut off some of the girl trying to be in Rean's shoes and using my own logic:
Elize: I know she's not a blood-related-sister for Rean but they grew up like they were so I would feel a little awkard to choose Elize as my girl even if she's really beautiful and with a very strong heart.
Altina: Altina is the one who really grew much in the whole saga. She started like a sort of "robot" in the second game to become much more like a human in the end but still I can't see her as a love interest. I Think of her more like a little sister or even a daugther. By the way, since Altina and Millium were created by Alisa's father, aren't they some sort of sisters for Alisa herself?
Alisa: I was really in love with Alisa in the first two games. She may be the "canon" girl of the game but she's also beautiful and a strong character. The reason because I didn't choose her in the final is because she "friendzoned" Rean in the first "heart" bond event in this game so I think: "Have you left me? Well, then I go choosing another girl"
Sara: I love Sara, really, but I wanted to stay rational for the sake of my choice. It's not because of the age gap between the two (20 Rean and 28 Sara) but there's something about her that would make feel weird in choosing her. Could be that sometimes she may be such "immature" or something. I don't really know but I just don't feel good in choosing her.
Emma: I don't really know why but I never see her like a girlfriend. She's beautiful expecially in the last game but I alwyas underrated her and maybe this was my mistake but it's just as i felt for her.
Excluding these five, the choice for me was between the other six and it was not an easy task. Eventually, my final rankings is:
1) Musse
2) Alfin
3) Towa
4) Juna
5) Fie
6) Laura
I think that the most beautiful one is Juna, there is nothing I don't like of her but she can't reach my heart like the other. Fie was my real true love in the first two games (even more than Alisa) but, same of Juna, she can't reach my heart in its entirety. Laura is also good and when she kissed Rean in the first bond event caught me by surprise. I had always considered her as a girl who thinks only to her training and nothing else but I was wrong.
And finally the first 3 of the chart.
-Towa. Totally underrated in the first games, she may be "short" or looks like a little girl but she's really amazing and beautiful I remember in a bond event in one of the first two games when in bareahard Angelica made her let her hair loose. There I saw the true potential of this "shorty". And I remember also when Rean found her twice sleeping in her office. Towa is the most natural choice in the real life. Rean and her shared many time together, even more than anyone else, expecially now since the two work both in the same place. But Towa is only number 3.
-Alfin. Who am I kidding? Beside being "only" the number 2, Alfin in my opinion is the sweetest girl. I don't care if she's the princess of Erebonia, I care only for her as a girl. SHe's still young but she also demonstrated that she can follow her duty as a princess. Her english dubber (the same as Fie's) made a real great job in make her so sweet and adorable. I think I would have chosen her 100% of times if someone hadn't show up to steal the show
-MUSSE o Mildine Juselit de Cayenne, I don't care. She's number one for me, the only girl who made me really jealous in the last bond event because I wanted to be Rean expecially when he strongly take her near him and hug her like nobody else. She may started like a "rotten girl" using people only for her own purpose but eventually she changed and grew up. She even apologized for her mistakes and that for me is more than enough.
even if they are not "bondable" I want to end this long comment about two other girls who I liked... Leonora of the branch campus and Vivi. Two interesting girls in my opinion.

People laugh but it's actually true, it's tough to choose a woman for Rean, they all have good character development especially if you do all of their supports. I really enjoyed Celine, I wish she was an option, she was there for Rean many times like the ending of the first Cold Steel and beginning of the second Cold Steel, as well as helping him out in 4.

@@BAIGAMING This is very late and probably irrelevant but i just finished playing CS4 and i felt like i needed to just add my perspective to your comment regarding Celine. She, even though she is a cat familiar, she is the closest character, relationship wise, that ever existed in this series to Rean outside of Elise. After the situations that lead Elise to have her life endangered indirectly by Celine in CS1 on the old Schoolhouse, Celine learned to become more conscious of her role in class's VII lives. Doing so, allowed her to have an opportunity to become closer to Rean while becoming her mentor, together with Emma, in magical related subjects, throught CS1 to CS4. But in the end of CS1 and beginning CS2 specially, Rean got into a point in the story where he was uniquelly frustrated with his own existance in that narrative. I remember how much Rean threw his frustrations unto Celine, partially because of her decision to make sure Rean would live on without his friends, but mostly because Celine was simply there, the only one physically close to him. Still, because Celine was close to Rean, both were able to grow from that tension between them. Celine learned to understand what it means to be a human and Rean started to learn how to understand on how to handle his own failings and limitations as a single person instead of relying on his allies. From there, Celine was the most important and relevant character to mirror Rean's flaws to himself, though both wisdom and brutal honesty, that rarely other character would even try to do. At the end of CS3 and during 2 months after in CS4, where Rean was jailed, Celine was there again for him. She must have gone through so much hardship being completely alone while being coerced from the Black Workshop into maintaining Rean into a more controlled state that i couldn't stop thinking how horrible it must have been for her to have to survive all that... completely alone with no one way of knowing how or where everyone else were, specially Emma. Going through all the situations from CS1 to CS4 that grew her personality to a very human state, i'm very surprised that Celine was not allowed to have a true relationship with Rean. They understand each other very well, she learned to become something she was originally not, a human form, just to better interact with Rean, they both expressed to each other progressive levels of mutual respect and understanding, and she is incredibly cute to boot. I was very dissapointed such an important character on Rean's life just to be relegated into such an irrelevant relationship. She is by far my favourite character in the series and Rean would never even be alive if it wasn't for her being there for him. Even if you can argue that that is true for other characters in Rean's life, Celine, for me, is just incredibly special. Who wouldn't want to have a companion just like Celine in their lives? Wise, intuitive, pacient, devoted, with a very strong sense of duty, even if you are angry at her. Her human character design is very creative and cute as well. Oh well, at least they gave us a glimpse of her human form. Sorry for the wall of text.

Whenever I come to a long replay I'll generally take Alisa as I like to do a 'canon' playthrough but Altina is by far the best in this. Her character growth over 3 and 4 is just unmatched.
I usually go Alisa for the same reason, but I went with Fie this game after Alisa got all "wishy-washy" in this one. It's the first time I had to think about it in the series. Abandoning your partner when both of you are going through hard times is one of the worst character traits you can get in a long-term relationship. I know it was to make it easier to pick someone else after 3 games of making the non-Alisa bonding endings as romanceless as possible, but it still rubbed me the wrong way.
The weird thing is. If Rean accept the love for Elise. The Trophy calls "Family ties".....Wincest yay!

My thoughts on each one:
.Emma: my choice. She was one of the people who most supported Rean in the entire CS arc. Her "alchemy" with him is one of the most cute ones. This scene is the example of that.
.Alisa: I don't like or dislike Alisa. She was supossed to be the "canon" girl (like Elie was in Crossbell games). Still, I didn't find Alisa an interesting character and I think Juna was handled better (with less Time on screen).
.Laura: I like Laura. I don't love her, but She is agreeable for me. She has a mutual respect Rship with Rean that I respect. I admit that She has the best romance scene in Cold Steel 4. That Cave scene was surely.. cool I guess?.
.Sara: I'm into Onee-samas and Milfs so of course I like a Lot Sara. From teasing Rean to be the subject of his teasing. Nothing much to say about the Big Oppai Instructor. Just summon 'Brahma'.
Fie: She was likeable. Not one of My favorites, but her scenes with Rean were fun. This one was one of the most funniest/cute ones of Fie.
Musse: I... don't care so much about her. So, Let's keep going...
Kidding. I think Musse is the "Momo" (To Love Ru) of this series. If you know what I mean, then you already know my answer.
Elise: SHE HAD TO BE PATRICK'S GF. You WON'T CHANGE MY MIND.
Alfin: Likeable, maybe. One of Erebonia's treasures.. that is in the hand of the Harem King Of EREBONIA. Sadly.
Altina: I like her evolution as a character, but I don't think that She and Rean make a good couple. They look better as "brothers" or "father and daughter" or just friends.
Towa: She is the perfect example of what "cutesy" and "loveable" means. She has some of the most cute and sad sentimental scenes with Rean. They COULD BE a wholesome couple. So, of course I approve 100% If you ship her with Rean.
Juna: how they did that with Juna?. She deserved more, much more than that "you are just my student for now" treatment. If Rean did that to Musse, Altina and even Alfin, WHY He didn't do the same thing to Juna?.
Juna was definitely one of My favorite female CS characters. I disliked her at first, but her growth and how honest She was with her feelings make me like a TSUNDERE GIRL (I hate Tsunderes, that is why it's surprising).

Xseed went the extra mile for CS 1 and 2. That game had this issue too, but Xseed decided to fix it for the English Dub.
NISA on the other hand, is well known for being lazy and kinda shit when it comes to their ports/localizations. No surprise they went with the bare minimum.

@AfroNagoriyuki I don't know if I would say worst girl, but it's obvious who they intended to ship Rean with from the beginning. I wouldn't be surprised if at least for the first game they originally had it as a straight love story between Rean and Alisa and the whole relationship mechanic was thrown in later on in development, because they made no attempt to adjust the story at all around who Rean was dating.

Ive been a Towa fan since CS1 so i had to go with her. I always enjoyed their interactions throughout the series and they have so much respect for each other. Rean needs to lay off the short jokes though! 😅
I really liked the Towa interaction in Cold Steel 1 too, I liked it a lot because she wasn't in Class 7 and it felt very different. Towa, George and Angelica were an amazing group back then with really great dialog. I remember Cold Steel 3 was hilarious because it had a scene with Musse about to hug Rean, and Rean does a matrix move to dodge it and goes "whew that was a close one".

@@durinV In terms of underlying family relationship I agree that Estelle/Joshua and Rean/Elise are the same. They even have the whole dynamic of meeting the first time a fair ways into their lives. But somehow Rean/Elise felt weird anyway. As for why, definitely her being "just another girl that's into Rean" didn't help. It being one-sided until CS4 didn't help either. Rean and Elise were also much younger when they first met, to the point that Elise apparently took several years to understand that Rean was adopted.
@@Latronibus I think the difference is that Estelle and Joshua met when they were 11, so right on the verge of going into puberty and it's also revealed that Joshua loved Estelle pretty much from the beginning. He never once really viewed her as a sister. She was always something very different to him. It's heavily implied that Estelle always felt the same way too, but she just didn't realize it until later because dense main characters will be dense. Her school friends definitely seemed to notice what was really going on though, as did pretty much everyone in the entire cast except for Cassius.
With Rean and Elise, they actually weren't that far along in life when they met. Rean was 6 and Elise was 3. She can't even remember a time in her life where Rean wasn't her big brother and she thought he actually was her brother for many years before learning the truth and discovering her romantic feelings for him. Rean as well legitimately thought of Elise as his little sister and that's why he's caught so completely off guard when she confesses to him. He never allowed himself to think of her in that way before.
Basically with Rean and Elise, their connection as siblings has way more emphasis placed on it, so when the game begins exploring the possibility of a romantic relationship between them, it just feels weird.
How do they do it? How can every single character be charming??
