@@StanleyKubick1 The 4m40 is chain driven, more reliable and can handle fast highway driving better than the 4d56. It is just that the parts for the 4m40 engine are more expensive. No doubt i would always choose 125hp 2.8td over 99hp. This engine is also used in small caterpillar excavators.
No its not they are not that great,injector pump leaks oil back into the fuel sucks air wont run right,i had a 4d56t for 12,years as work wagon was a logger,did 360k on it,new clutch and timing belts and waterpump did work myself,great old wagon,towed fuel tankers and wood trailers.
