Turbo Diesel Mitsubishi Pajero gets an Intake + Straight Pipe Exhaust

Waiting on sr20 parts for the E36 so decided to straight pipe and make an intake for my turbo diesel 4d56-powered Mitsubishi Pajero.

By just looking at that engine it's bone dry know oil in the intake or exhaust manifold so I bet that engine still has lots of life in

Might as well replace the wastegate and boost controller with a good aftermarket electronic boost control system to ensure stable and safe constant 15psi boost whenever at full throttle and load. Straight pipeing would obviously unleash more power at the cost of more noise, though not to an intolerable degree thanks to the turbo. That said, the Mitsubishi OE airbox is in fact an extremely well engineered intake system, going open pod can in fact be a downgrade both performance and off roaf durability wise. Hot and dirty air does not create more power. If intake restriction is a problem, modifying the OE airbox intake hole for more airflow makes more sense.

i have a 91 with the injection pump turned up just a touch and the mpg is awful

those mods almost useless. turbo doesnt care about exhaust, and new intake have smaller square inches than stock filter

Yes but the Car is literally made every where. They are still being built in China. Parts for this car can be found all over AliExpress and Alibaba
