I am on right on the verge of buying one of these but cant find one at any of my local stores to demo. I want to find something that I can take out into nature (Camping or hammock chill) and get some acoustic jams in with friends without having to lug around a speaker. Think this would cut the mustard better then a regular acoustic bass which seams to get drown out pretty easy if anyone gets to excited and plays with a little volume.

Decided to make the leap without trying when I found one a used one one for 299. This video is correct the volume vs a regular acoustic bass is well worth the investment if that is what you are looking for. Ive played a few days down by the creek and around the fire with some fellow acoustics and it was plenty loud. The only real downside for me is the build quality which is what you would expect from the more base model Deans that I wish would have been more in line with there middle of the road $500-$750 build quality per the cost of the guitar. I would say the Dean Hard Case is great for protection but is about the size of a mac truck so don't think of it as a portable but more storage. Overall for the price I paid I am very happy with it.
