    Bought a 2017 Tri Glide Ultra. After going to 3 wheels, I'll never look back. Love my Trike. Normal riding will not tip this trike over. Aggressive riding will not. Crazy riding might lift a tire up, but get off throttle and wheel goes back down. I feel much more safe on my trike than I ever did on my Road King. A trike is a very stable platform. I am learning to take curves faster than before and my Tri glide turns on a dime. Never had an issue with tipping or back wheel lifting.

      I have a 98 Road King and am 70 yrs old...its too much for me..thinking of going to a trike...is HD the best or should I consider a Honda or a Can Am?

      @@scottgardner6704 Scott, I am a few years older than you with close to 50 years on 2 wheels. My legs aren't what they used to be and this summer we got a 2012 Tri Glide. Now I wish I had gotten a trike a lot sooner. When we started shopping for a trike, there was never any doubt that it was going to be a Harley. Go for it.

    That's the first Breakout I've seen with a fairing. Looked cool but not sure how I feel about it. Lol. The Tri-Glide must be pretty comfy on long trips, just not sure I'd ever get comfortable with a trike. Although someday when my body is too beat up, I'll probably get one.

    Does anyone know where one is for sale?

    I know what you mean about kick stands and big Harleys! I've ridden an Ultra Classic for almost a year and a half and I still think she's going over half of the time!

    Liked your views on the trike. Road one Saturday first time ever riding one. Probably would have gotten used to it. The wife loved the ride as a passenger. I have a spyder st limited so she doesn't have all support. Just could not see loosing all the riding comforts of my spyder love the handling and the storage. But they are very good looking rides. Rode a 2015 it was sharp.

    Why don't you go to a Harley dealer and test ride one of the new one's. I'm sure we would love to see a video of what your thoughts are on the Rushmore model's. I have a 2015 tri-glide. I put a lift kit on it which makes it easier to steer around corners. Most times I can steer with one hand around a corner with ease. The lift kit does make a difference.

    The ability of a trike has to do more with the person riding it than anything else. Brush up on your riding skills and you'll be fine.

    It’s harder to turn over than you think.
    Friend of mine has a trike and pulled it out of carport to let warm up while she went back inside to get helmet and it vibrated in to gear and went out across the road and went through neighbors house.
    Always set emergency brakes when left running and not attended

    In your personal opinion, what do you think of the Tri-Glide Freewheeler and Spyder for everything. In my opinion the Harley sounds better at idle but overall the Spyder is a winner 🤷

    what the hell is that mirror thing on the tank? Notice you get the same tick tick sound on that as the road king?
    Look at those mufflers on that breakout that things gotta be loud.

    A friend traded in his 2012 Tri Glide for a 2015 Tri Glide , I rode both , to me two different rides, I don't know what HD did, but 2015 is a sweet ride, I'm just not ready for 3 wheels yet, if you ever get a chance , would like you review on the HD's new Freewheeler.

      Mike BigEasyRider - They made so many changes in 2014, I'd love to get the chance to ride a 2014 or 2015 Tri-Glide. That goes for the Freewheeler as well, that's pretty wild looking...
      Thanks Mike!

    I remember our conversation about trike's and spyders just a little while ago, and here you are riding one of those things.
    Like you say, they do look nice, but I think I'll stick to two wheels thanks. ;o)
    Sorry, but the shield on that Breakout destroys the look of the gorgeous bike. Just my opinion.
    Nice one Shawn.

    • @ShawnSmoak

      Rob Ash - I've ridden a few, but haven't had the chance to record it. I wasn't going to let this one pass... They are cool, but that standard trike arrangement is too spooky for my taste.
      The story I heard about the shield is that it's a Harley shield for another application, and the guy modified it to work on his Breakout. That bike really needs to be naked in my opinion... Looks real cool! I was going to test ride it after my son did the UVI on it, but it got snagged by the sales guys before I had a chance. My son said it was really cool when he test rode it after the service, and he's only 22! He likes all the crotch rockets... Lol
      Thanks Rob!

    That Tri-Glide is a little fancier than my '58 but it is more exciting on a rigid frame, straight axle, and a pogo stick. And...I have a heck of a lot more trunk space.
    Nice to see a shop full of Indians.

    How difficult do you think it would be for a beginner to master?

    • @scottmccauley5945
      @scottmccauley5945 8 років тому

      Uh. Afraid I've not ridden an ATV. I'm quite the beginner. But quite eager to learn. Unfortunately I don't know anyone who's got a trike, so I can't get a lot of input. But thanks for the info!

    • @scottmccauley5945
      @scottmccauley5945 8 років тому

      Yes they do. And I plan to take them. But you don't counter-steer trikes. So I'm curious how much the classes will teach that I will have to unlearn for the trike.

    • @SquidzitAce
      @SquidzitAce 8 років тому

      I can give you an answer. It's very easy for a beginner to ride a Harley trike. I should know. I'm a beginner and I just bought a 2016 Tri Glide this weekend (6/17/2016). I took the Harley new rider course in April of this year, got my motorcycle endorsement in May and now I'm riding in the street. I had never been on a motorcycle before. I didn't have to unlearn counter steering because I had only done that in class. I've had the trike 3 days and have put almost 250 miles on it. It's a joy! I test drove the spyder as well, didn't handle as nicely as the Tri Glide in my opinion.
