Do you add a few drops of water to your colour ink caps? Or do you use the colours straight out of the bottle? I’m still figuring out how to use watercolour
Hi man! I usually use the colors straight out of the bottle. Sometimes I can water it down if I want another hue. Let me know if there’s anything else! 👍🏻
Do you have a suggestion for a type of orange to use for skin? I normally use saddle brown because when you really thin it out with water it has red hues but the way you did it doesn’t dilute the brightness of other red you put in the painting.
The thing is, I mixed this flesh tone years ago and I can't remember what colors I used. Sorry! When I'm painting as well as when I'm tattooing I usually go with a brown that leans more toward orange than red. The reason is, besides that I think it looks better, is that I use a lot of red in my designs so the brown needs to pop a bit. If I would mix one today I think I'd start with a yellow that has a lot of brown in it and mix with a brown with some red in it and go from that. Brown shades are hard as they always tend to go more towards red. Sorry if I couldn't be of any help.
Sober Joe Thanks for the reply, maybe I’ll try the tobacco brown, it’s more yellow brown. Just started trying FW acrylics too, feels kind of the same only more urgency to get it done fast lol.
Yeah I think that would be a great place to start. When I started over 10 years ago, I used to use Winsor & Newton Calligraphy Ink and FW Acrylics. Had a hard time with the FW so I switched to Talens Ecoline. Now days I'm running Dr. Ph. Martins for most of my colors.

@@SoberjoeSe is the skin tone just brown right out of the bottle? aside from the stain
So cool! What's that green you used?
Thank you! The green I’m using is a tattoo color from eternal named jade. It’s watered down a lot to be able to paint with.
Sober Joe very cool color bro, i like it

Sober Joe I have a ton of Ph Martin radiant, that’s what I normally use. Started lining with a 1.5 Pitt pen and i use speedball ink for the black.
Never tried the Faber-Castell Pitt Pen. I need to try it sometime. For now I like to use the 1.0 Multi liner from Copic.
Can you use acrylic paints instead of inks?
Liquid acrylics works great as well! 👍🏻👍🏻
Beautiful work mate. Majorly inspiring!!! I draw flash myself and your vids are super instructional! What colour are you using for the skin tone?
Tack you for the kind work. It’s a mix I did of some Dr. Ph. Martins. Can’t really remember.
