I need to try this ! (Ps : your channel is pure knowledge, you motivate me to learn more and more about traditionnal tattooing and it’s becoming my main goal to be able to master all those techniques you teach us !)
Hi! I want to coat my flash too! Did you used oil base Vanish? If You did!!! Did you used any solvent? Or you use it without thinner or any kind of solvents add it to the varnish thanks you! Nice and usefull videos!!
awesome video , at the moment i'm working on project with epoxy resin applying on plywood , i would recommend to try out or maybe you already have. But when it dries out it looks like glass. I was so surprisingly impressed how nice it looks. I'm planning to try out soon on some flash aswell. keep up awesome work!
Hey joe, so glad I’ve found your channel! After battling physical and mental health most of my twenties my love for art and tattoos has finally resurfaced, wooop! I’m going study all your videos! Can I ask if you can get any of the pictures of the flash from the museum at the start of the video, they look awesome but can’t find the artists work anywhere. Thanks for your help man Sam
Hey Joe! I was looking forward to this video all week! I have never heard of this method before and am really excited to try this out! If you don't mind, I have a couple of questions for you! Is there a reason you specifically picked boat varnish? Also, the sepia-like tint coming from the varnish adds a very nice layer to the flash, I love it! To expand it's possible applications, are there also clear versions that you would recommend? Thank you for the awesome video!
Thank you for the comment! It's a really good question. When I first saw this years ago I started to contact people and trying stuff out and a lot of people are using boat varnish. I think you could try using some epoxy to give it more of a clear coat. Let me know the results if you gonna try it out!
Painting hair is difficult and takes some time to get used too. I will see if I can do a video in the future about painting hair but until then, try to draw it as much as you can and you will eventually get a hold of it. Thank you for leaving questions!
@@SoberjoeSe thank you very much for the response to my question and I will take your advise and keep at it. Thank you for letting me know the brand of that coffee pot / maker as I am excited to try this out.
@@SoberjoeSe you are great dude, your tecnique is simple and eternal, like the giant, go on and not disappear, please... do you make videos on tattoo process?
Thank you but I’m sorry to tell you this but I won’t talk about tattooing as I think that should be thought in a controlled environment by a professional mentor. Hope you can understand that.
I CANNOT WAIT TO TRY THIS THANK YOU SO SO MUCH DUDE!!!! BEAUTIFUL WORK AS ALWAYS!!!❤❤❤

How are you keeping it from smudging or running ink ?
Getting ready to try this on a 22x30 I’m getting finished up, I’m worried the varnish will lift the water color though

Hi Joe. For black shading, do you use black watercolor before applying coffee stains?
Hi! I use black indian ink from Winsor & Newton!
Is that varnish clear?
That came out looking real nice! What do you use to do your lines?
I've been using different markers during the years but recently switched over to Nibs and Winsor & Newton Indian Ink. Hope that helps!

I’m surprised it doesn’t lift the color, is this because the varnish is not water based?
Yes that’s exactly why it doesn’t lift. 👍🏻
@@SoberjoeSe So you can use watercolour inks instead of acrylics?
Yeah but make sure the varnish is oil based if using watercolors
Dope 👍
Thank You!
Yah man
