A couple points that Black Ember could improve on in future versions: 1.) I agree that the outer material is not the best when it comes to looking sleek and high tech. I don't want people to know that I have two cats all the time without keeping a mini lint roller inside the bag itself 2.) The shoulder strap isn't the most comfortable, it should be wider. Alpaka has a pro strap that would be good as a substitute. 3.) The interior should have more gusseting for flexibility of storage, or it could be made of a stretchy mesh material like Bellroys' bags or laser cut stretchy textile like PD's tech pouch. I really want to like this bag but there's just so many things that could have been done better.
Preordered one. Excited this will be my EDC for days in office, iPad mini 6 + headphones (or lunch lol). Bit on the pricey end though for a 5L but it seems like the only bag that works well fit for iPad mini AND full headphones without extra bulk or too tight risky. What’s great is I like how u can remove the straps if I wanted to use it as tech pouch on my desk
I bought this and I'm really loving it. There are a few quibbles though. The latch is very very very difficult to remove and put on for the shoulder strap. I wish they made it easier to latch on and latch off. I also wish it was just a bit bigger, ie just enough to hold a Surface Go (it can't). That's my only complaint. If they had a bigger version of this bag, I'd totally get it. I love the aesthetics of it.

Hey man you seem to be really knowledgeable at this stuff, I am going on a trip super soon and need your best recs for a tech backpack that can fit a 16" macbook pro. I am looking for the best of the best regardless of price.
I mean... So many options... What size, how many liters? Some great options are Remote Equipment Alpha 31, NYA-EVO Fjord 36 or 60-C, Nomatic x PM Travel Pack, Peak Design Travel Pack. My preferences would be in that order too.

Yeah it could use some tweaks for sure, but a pretty good little bag.
