lovely vintage type glider, hours of work to build, so glad it didn't crash. Ron didn't build it though, said he bought a job lot, bargain. Thanks for the videos man. UK here
Go Ron! Bruce, those dots in Ron's paintwork are obviously the southern hemisphere star constellations. Not a sky I'm familiar with here in Scotland but Ron might be flying at night and using the dots as a map. Crafty!
Nice guys. Bruce, you should start a third channel called XjetRon. Nice to see Ron with a beautiful success. Well, until the folding prop part. :-) For a couple seconds I thought the dirt bikes sounded like a didgeridoo. Cell phone speaker.
2:04 I hear the sound of birds chirping and what seems to be pigs grunting. Thinking this is dubbed in for humor, then later recognize the sound of dirt bikes groaning!
I love old school! I think every effort should be taken when possible to remaiden those old birds. Mabe redress them if need be but Its such a shame seeing old planes just hanging in garages and out buildings until they fall apart from disuse. Sometimes its hard to get these old duffers to let loose a classic plane, too many good memories I guess. If more people were like Ron,we would be enjoying more video's of these classic crustys. I say leave them as is if possible too. Those paint spots give it character. I under stand you are just having a bit of fun with ole Ron,some people need to lighten up. If it bothered him,he would say something. Give it a break people, kidding is part of the flying fun.
It's a Sig Riser 2m Fuselage with a Carl Goldberg Gentle Lady 2m wing on it. Looks like a 400 or 450 sized motor, 8-9" prop. Weight should be in the 35-40oz range, as the Riser is 30ish ounces in regular glider form.
Don't know about the wings, but the Fuselage is a "Sig Riser 100". I know, I have one. The wings is not for the Riser though. The Riser 100 is a 100 inch bird.
looks similar to a Gentle Lady by Carl Goldberg, not sure where you'd get the plans but kits are pretty easy to find since i think they still make them.
Ron you are a legendary rc man . What's up with 12 m wingspan mongo commentary someone likes the sound of there own voice whoo down wind stupid not funny
Is it just me or does he seem condescending to Ron? It might just be how they are in New Zealand, but it just seems he's overly sarcastic and takes Ron as an idiot.
Not Sure Yeah i understand that people joke around, but it just seems that Bruce finds a way to make fun of everything that Ron does, or he questions Ron about what hes doing as if Ron is dumb. For example, in this video he acts as though Ron doesn't know what gravity is at 7:30.
he is just taking the piss. And ron gives it right back. You have to have ear for sarcasm. Ron is a pilot I believe, or was in a previous xjet video, so he knows how to fly just fine. I assume that at their point in life, a spectacular failure is more entertaining that a mild success, why else hobble together crazy plane ideas.
Shit. I've watched a few of your videos. They were informative, but not funny. This one, I nearly wet me bloody f**in pants! The banter is mad. Please make a series of comedy videos.
Ron is a man of few words."yeah it flies nice" is the best review ever.
I love watching you guys over on the other side of the pond. I live in San Diego California. Great video ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Gentle lady, one of the best floaters of all time
The wing might be a Gentle Lady but the fuselage is different. I have one here on the shelf.
lovely vintage type glider, hours of work to build, so glad it didn't crash. Ron didn't build it though, said he bought a job lot, bargain.
Thanks for the videos man. UK here
Love your videos! Great commentary. - Memphis, TN
i could listen to Bruce's commentary all day. lol. folding prop
Wow.. this is awesome. This plane so beautiful
Love to see the recycling. Keep up the good work Ron.
Go Ron! Bruce, those dots in Ron's paintwork are obviously the southern hemisphere star constellations. Not a sky I'm familiar with here in Scotland but Ron might be flying at night and using the dots as a map. Crafty!
You guys have so much fun.👍🏻
Bruce, your commentary is just hilarious!
You and Ron are the best every thing is in good fun
Now I need to buy myself a SIG Riser 100 - for that is what this luscious sailplane is ! years ago I had a Riser 80, and it was a sweet flyer.
Bruce provides all the humor, Ron is all about the flying
crowbar...yall are 2 funny gentlemen..yall should have a tv show
Ron is emortalized in Bruce's video. New flyers in fifty years will look back on these two and see the spirit of the wright Brothers, Wilber and Bro.
Nice guys. Bruce, you should start a third channel called XjetRon. Nice to see Ron with a beautiful success. Well, until the folding prop part. :-)
For a couple seconds I thought the dirt bikes sounded like a didgeridoo. Cell phone speaker.
"What fell off"
Ron starting a hamster sky dividing team?
2:04 I hear the sound of birds chirping and what seems to be pigs grunting. Thinking this is dubbed in for humor, then later recognize the sound of dirt bikes groaning!

Nice one Ron.Shame you can't launch from the tower, you could even put a cocoa machine in there for breaks now you've gone all retro. :-)
Nice, I'm looking forward to future Ron-tastic maidens :-)
What fell of was the red patch on the left side of the nose. It's missing as he makes his second start.
It's always great to see the old ones out there. ( :¬)))
Nice one Ron - wouldn't go camping with the bloke filming though I'd be back in Mt eden no probs bro
still beautiful
Ron: "it I'll absorb water that stuff?
Bruce: "only if you put water on it"
That killed me! Hahahahahahaha!!!
Old timers are quite popular to fly at my aero club. We also hold an annual olt timer event.
Bruce,
Ron has been doing really good lately. Maybe he should stay away from the foamies. :-)
G'day,
Yay Team !
Warbles approves, thoroughly...
;-p
Ciao !
Video request: a master cut of every time you and Ron says “….yeah”
Have they discovered folding props and spinners down in New Zealand yet, doesn't seem like it, or maybe it's just Ron and Gordon.
beautiful flight! would you provide the spec of it, such as weight, wing span, power etc..
Despite the prop, Ron did a good job landing this heavy thing at their feet.
looks good old timer glider !......
A Sig Riser fuselage and a 2 meter wing? :)
It looks like a Sig Riser 100 fuse with some kind of wing mated to it.
A folding prop on that glider would make it fly much better
2:40 each little dot has been hand-painted... LOL!!
Ron needs an old Kraft radio to control that beauty! Or an old Futaba circa 198?.
What, wide-band AM? Ha! You first!
A very beautiful and interesting wing covering. What is it?
That's so old it could be wattle and dorb.
I think its coverlite synthetic tissue.
Old guy with an old airplane. That is familiar for me :-)
where is Roddy these days. I would like to see him and Ron collaborate on a project
It looks like the red sticker thingie on left side where cockpit would've been...
I built one like that Butt Bigger 13 1/2 foot wingspan in 1975!?
Flew it on an older then 2-chan, cb channel 5 transmitter... LOL
Our Council could have moved the Tower to the Leith Place rebuild! As the Icon building..lol...Laurie
Brilliant Laurie... but then again, our council has no vision, imagination, insight or commonsense so it would never happen.
Yep!
Shouldn't this be in black and white? Or sepia tone?
Hi Mr Ron Could you let me know the setup of the RC glider i am a beginner in rc plane
top.. dall' italia. .ciao
Yes retro!
Are you next to a pig farm or guys riding quads/ dirt bikes?
Spirit 2meters?
Not even close. The Spirit has a cranked leading edge. Next question?
what glider is it?
Don't know about the wings, but the Fuselage is a "Sig Riser 100". I know, I have one. The wings is not for the Riser though. The Riser 100 is a 100 inch bird.
Hi! What the name of this model is and where I can find the plan for download? Thank´s!
looks similar to a Gentle Lady by Carl Goldberg, not sure where you'd get the plans but kits are pretty easy to find since i think they still make them.
Tail heavy for sure
that means the wing was designed by a parrot....lol! polyhedral
how do I keep running into you on youtube, weird. Saw you on the Prusa live build.
Isn’t that a beuteyfool Tewwahh
yeah.
orange box...its still made in india...india hobby center makes them
Sorry, but that wing is not 12 metres, that's really bugging me, please tell me that you were joking.
Ok, I got to the part where you say 40 m wing span, you must be joking.
Looked a good 12 meters to me.
New Zealand meters must be a bit shorter than the international meter.
no, measurements arent changed. 1m In new zealand is 1m in england. I'm like 99% sure
+Alex Walters you've never heard of a country mile?
Bid-sprid
Yeah?...yeah.....yeah...
Ron you are a legendary rc man .
What's up with 12 m wingspan mongo commentary someone likes the sound of there own voice whoo down wind stupid not funny
Looks more like 2.6m
Please give me sketch
Why do you give Ron so much cheap crap... kind of rude my man.
yes... i wonder why.
but i like how Ron handles it.
Nah its not rude its just fun
1:42 :(
Is it just me or does he seem condescending to Ron? It might just be how they are in New Zealand, but it just seems he's overly sarcastic and takes Ron as an idiot.
its just a men poking funzies humor thing, been happening for thousands of years
Not Sure Yeah i understand that people joke around, but it just seems that Bruce finds a way to make fun of everything that Ron does, or he questions Ron about what hes doing as if Ron is dumb. For example, in this video he acts as though Ron doesn't know what gravity is at 7:30.

silentseawolf You have a good point, but either way Bruce makes Ron look like a moron in his videos.
They always rag each other something rotten, always. They're good friends
pointillism camouflage...
Constant silly remarks are annoying
Then watch something else then you plonker!
Rodney.
you really don't get the point of these videos then ;)
Get bent
Twat
Shit. I've watched a few of your videos. They were informative, but not funny.
