Greece is one place that I always feel at Home, there is never the feeling you are being "tolerated" as a tourist.. So many times I have sat drinking well into the night only for the bar owner to wave me away when the bill was due to be paid. If you are visiting Please try to book a family owned Taverna / Hotel, you will have a way nicer experience than a Chain Hotel. IMO.

@@DutchPilotGirl i loved watching the main video on your page. You showed us what it looks like in the "cockpit" how you fly and land. It was so cool to see. I wonder how you feel about flying in turbulence. One time I was scared when we were in sudden turbulence on a commercial flight. I guess the plane won't fall out of the sky.😋
Thanks for posting these videos. I am a retired Airline Captain and flew the 737 so when I want to relive what I used to do for a living I watch your videos. I really appreciate your skills and professionalism. I am afraid of flying, but knowing there are pilots out there such as yourself, it makes it easier for me.
My first holiday abroad was to Crete in 1983, on landing at Heraklion we had to walk from the plane to the terminal, such as it was. Such great memories, Crete was so undeveloped back then, hardly any TVs, only a few phone lines off the island (which you had to queue for) and very few cars. The busses were good and very cheap though, as was the food!
A beautiful day to land in a beautiful country. In all of the years you have been flying have you ever seen anything in the sky that you could not explain?
Michelle, thank you for another flawless landing. I was in Athens in 1967 and again in 1969. Beautiful city, expensive but still beautiful. The people were also great and friendly. Until next time, Peace--Barefoot John. xx

As a retired pilot I've landed at Crete many times. I don't know what it's like now but my observation over many years is that the actual wind crossing the threshold on RW 27 is often more that the ATC reported wind. Because of this I've some "arrivals" there since adjustments to Vref are less than they should be. Based on this it was always one place where I'd carry an extra 5 knots on the approach above the normal add ons. Great video thanks! I see you made a comment in notes about wind additives on RW27.
Perfect, smooth landing. I have been many times on Crete; it is my favourite European holiday island. But the sidewinds on Heraklion airport are always a thing to concur. A few times the pilot has to break off the landing because of to strong N winds from the sea or to strong S winds from the mountains, otherwise he simply would have missed the strip. And taking off in W direction will always cause a sound blast in Heraklion itself.

Great video Michelle, although I wish you were Pilot Flying! As always, good info about the destination. I liked that we got to see a bit of the taxi and ground ops. Maybe I am too much of a geek, but I love that part. I also love when you show the push back and take offs. Maybe more of those too? Hope you got some beach time in Crete!
At last... i missed this video.. what a amazing views! You know that i am a little afraid off flying, but somehow you make it feel more pleasant and safe..
Hi, Michele. I was in there once in 1970 on a DC - 4 (C-54). When we landed, we used almost the whole runway. I wonder if they extended and expanded the terminal. Nice approach and landing. Kudos to the captain. When do you upgrade to the left seat?
Michelle, love all the details you add to the video. It really is appreciated! My question is since you were pilot monitoring, do you ever get a little jealous to not be PF into these cool airports? I assume it’s a pretty even rotation between duties but are some captains flying hogs?😂
What about the holidays? How many weeks do you have a year? Are you allowed to take holidays in July/August? Can you ask a week holiday and ask you off days before and after you holidays? Can you ask to fly to Miami and then have your holidays there and then start work again from there?
I work part-time, so I have a week holiday every month! We are allowed to take holidays in July & August, but as most pilots take holidays then, not everyone can be off at the same time of course. The flight always starts and ends from your base, which in my case in Amsterdam. :)

Thank you John! I'm glad you liked the video 😃
Michelle! CAPT!!! You're always so serious. It's awesome to see you break out and see a little of YOU on the intro!!! LoL. Been with ya a little over 2 years. Your vids are Freaking Awesome!!! A+!!! 👍🏻👍🏻😎😎😎
Haha yeah these types of videos are straight forward indeed. Maybe it's time for another type of video :) Thank you for watching my videos, it means a lot!!
Always a good day when a DPG video drops! Although I don't fly much, I've always thought it was special when I did. Keep living your best life, Michelle!
Thank you soo much!! Keep living your best life as well!😃
Geen ATC opnames?😢
Welke koptelefoon is dat, je eigen?
7:30; local time is UTC + 4?
Bose ProFlight Series 2! Helaas niet, hopelijk snel!
Thanks for your feedback Eric!
Hallo, ich bin noch nie geflogen, hab durch Zufall diese Videos entdeckt , finde sie faszinierend
Really enjoying all the extra text/graphics providing more context.
I hate all the extra text/graphics ...
Congrats girl...
Amazing video...
Greetings from Greece 🇬🇷...
At last... i missed this video.. what a amazing views!
That's a while ago! Haha I can imagine :) Probably 2 or 3 years, but you'll never know! It all depends on the seniority :)
Michelle, love all the details you add to the video. It really is appreciated!
My question is since you were pilot monitoring, do you ever get a little jealous to not be PF into these cool airports? I assume it’s a pretty even rotation
between duties but are some captains flying hogs?😂
Yes we always share the duties. Flight A pilot monitoring, flight B pilot flying :)
Awesome again, time to take the 73x for a spin in MSFS again
Absolutely! Into Heraklion as well?? 😍
@@DutchPilotGirl Might but Zakynthos is also tempting, bit more quiet 😁.
I'm guessing the landing was about 10am? Great video as usual and I love Greece :)
Runway 27 and the sun dropping it was probably 15:00 - 16:00hrs.
Another stunning approach Michelle excellent video I look forward to the next one best regards Andy Allen
Thank you Andy!
i am from Greece and i love you too
😄
@@DutchPilotGirl I was very glad that you responded with humor to the comment I made
Hello DPG! Total class, brilliant and beautiful!!! Be safe!!!
