I am a certified Vet technician and I promise you removing the eye is the best case scenario and will relieve all her pain. So many dogs heal fantastically from the surgery and are back to their normal selves after. Also don’t worry about her going under again. If she doesn’t have a heart murmur or a high grade one then you have nothing to worry about. We always use the least possible anesthesia possible to reduce risk. Sending my love to you and Bluey. I’ve been here since you first got her. She’s such a sweet and cute pup and she won’t be any different with one less eye. All my love from the US.
It is also hard for us as humans to understand that animals don't have an emotional attatchment to losing their physical body parts like we do. They do adjust so well most of the time!
I 100% agree as a vet tech! She will be in great hands Meagan and she will feel soooo much like herself again once she is recovered:) dogs are amazing and she will adapt so well. Wishing you the best xxxxxxxx
I agree. A tip but maybe they already do this; With anesthesia and aspecially more often, I would give her a B12 injection cause the levels drop and can cause anemia (+blood loss).
My dog had one of her eyes removed in February due to a tumor growing in it. the first few days she was a little unsure when going out for a walk but within a week she was back to her happy self. She is so full of life and she gets even more attention now. Whatever you do for BlueBell you'll make the right choice and she is safe and loving hands with you 💜
been with you guys since before the pandemic, did a ton of your IG live workouts with you & never miss a vlog. as a self employed person who definitely loves to “escape” via a vlog, I also equally find comfort when you vent real hardships you’re navigating, as it can help with feeling less alone during hard times. as always, thank you for showing up and being so authentic. sending you, bluey and the fam so much love.
So sorry to hear about bluebell! I also have a 1 yo and work from home, have you considered child care? I initially thought I could keep her home and get some in house help and we did do this with family for months and it was HARD she didn’t understand why I needed to work and why I wasn’t paying attention to her so we put her in nursery 3 days, then take 1 weekday each to have her home and not work and that’s been a great balance. It’s helped her social skills so much and she’s advancing so quickly because she’s in with slightly older kids. I think lots of YTs forget this is their full time job so many of you don’t take proper mat leave or try to juggle work and parenting when both are full time jobs but you deserve focus time too you aren’t required to not need help as a parent just because you work from the house!! Maybe even 1/2 days of childcare in or out of the house would let you focus on work and would relieve some overwhelm! I even take days off here and there when she’s in to just have time fully to myself now 😂 she loves it there so I don’t feel guilty anymore!
I used to read to my kiddos as they played in the bedroom. Sometimes they would come and sit down with me and look other times they would just play. Now they are teens and they still tell me how much they remember me doing it and how much they loved it. My daughter who is 13 still loves for me to read to her. Keep reading to her its all good momma. Big loves
Brought a tear to my eye🩵 Bluebell, you are so loved. As long as she has you, she has everything. One eye or two eyes. The love you give her is endless and her heart will always be full ❤️ sending so much love xxx
Hey! My son was born about a week after Win so it's lovely watching how similar their journeys are. I dropped first nap when my boy was 10 months! Which was hard but honestly it has been the best thing we did for his sleep. He now sleeps around 3 hours for his one nap at lunch, so don't fear!! If she needs more, she will sleep more. I have just tried to do what I need to do in lunch nap and then once he goes to bed. You'll be okay, you're doing a great job mama ❤
Thinking of you Meg! I know I would feel the same way about my dog. He was just diagnosed with glaucoma and he already only has one eye as it is. It’s really hard to think that at some point he with no longer be able to see anything. I guess we just have to love them even harder and try to give them the best quality of life that we can. 💘
So sad to hear about Bluebell, I brought my dog home around the same time as you did with Bluebell, I couldn’t imagine having to make that decision but I’ve seen my friends dog go through a similar thing, she recovered so well and found a new lease of life. I hope Bluebell had a speedy recovery 💕
Hey Meg, my 11 year old cocker spaniel had his eye out over a year ago due to a tumour and he was completely fine! He was more himself afterwards, it was honestly like day and night change bc he wasn’t in pain anymore. If Bluey has to go through it she will be ok!! They are so adaptable and the operation is very common, healing took about a week or two. It’s what is best for her. Sending so much love, I know them being in pain or unwell is one of our worst fears. They are everything. She will be alright, she is in great health other than the eye. Best to get it done asap ❤️❤️❤️
Our little cockapoo has an eye condition and had to have the first one removed at 5 months I was so so sad but she honestly was not phased at all. If anything she was so so much happier when she was no longer in pain. she now has the same issue in the other eye, luckily it can be medicated! Dogs are so resilient but i totally understand how you’re feeling. Sending so much love. Xx
My girly switched herself to one nap at 13 months. It gets better because that one nap starts getting longer. Now I find I can get more done during one nap than I could when she took two naps! 💖
Absolutely loved the mom vent you shared because being first time mom with a 6 month old it helps me so much to hear other moms feeling how I feel ❤ send big lots of love to Bluebell as well 💕
Can’t wait for the Beyond journal to drop! I am also a mum of a young baby and totally get you wanting to cry in the bathroom, mum life 😅 but your Beyond app has helped me so much in my first year of motherhood, so thank you! 🥰 sending love to baby Blue 🩵 xxx
Sorry to hear about Bluey’s eye 🙁 I had a cavalier King Charles, I know it’s not quite the same but she went completely blind very rapidly, she adapted so well, I’m sure Blue would be absolutely fine with one eye - it’s so much more upsetting for us that it is for them xx
You are such a gem of a person and a mum Meggan! You were in my dream last night randomly and I didn’t know about the bluebell news, but I hugged you and you had a good cry about her but knew she’d be ok! I believe it’s a sign. She will not even notice she has one eye and will feel so much better. Also you’re an amazing mum and you can bitch about your little moments here with no fear of judgement I hope 💞
Loveee the journal I will deffo be getting that!! Also your balance between vlogging the happy moments and the stressful ones are completely fine don’t stress ur doing great I love ur vlogs! 💘
We switched to 1 nap at the 13 month mark with my eldest who is now 3. As she was just so much happier and wanting to drop to 1. She then did drop her nap fully earlier then some bubs at around 2 years 4 months ish. But that had a lot to do with the fact that it was around when I had my baby boy. But shes now 3 and thrived on no nap! My boy however is 11 months and I highly doubt he’ll be dropping to 1 nap anytime soon. He loves his naps haha! It’s great you followed her lead. Always the best way 🤎 you’re incredible mama 🤎
Aw poor Blue and u r right they feel like ur children. She will be better soon and adjust. Well done on managing a vlog with everything bf going on with moving and a toddler. Be kind to urself and looking forward to purchasing the journal when available. ❤
You are such a good mommy to Bluebell.. she will feel better and doggies adapt so well.. Even tho it’s such a difficult thing to have to do. You know what is really good for older doggies.. maybe a visit to a holistic vet that can give her special vitamins and supplements and healthy food ideas. It helped with my doggies a lot and they live extra long healthier lives 🥰🙏🏻🐶
My comfort UA-camr. My dear grandad gained his angel wings last Tuesday and I have been in such a slump since - so this is just what I needed to see (minus your sad news, I haven’t watched just yet!) xxx
I struggle with vet appointments too. My dog was attacked by another dog during covid so I had to wait outside while they helped her, and I just sobbed outside 😭 it's traumatic for everyone! Love & hugs to you & Blue ❤
The new house looks lush! So excited for you all. My baby is the same age as Win and will not sit for any stories except the Julia Donaldson glitter ones as she likes rubbing the glitter while I read! Can't wait for the planner drop and sending cwtches for Bluebell x
We love you Bluebell - you did the right thing by giving the eye a chance. Blue is still lovely Blue with two eyes or one. Won’t take her long to adjust. Sending hugs and lots of love xx
Awe Megan I'm so sorry to hear about Blueies eye 🥺 I was praying she would make a full recovery and I can only imagine what you guys are feeling right now. I had an incident with my dog recently too ,but luckily all her tests came back positive and it's just something to be kept an eye on ,but I was a ball of anxiety worrying about her ,so I know what you're going through. Perfect timing, I have my iced coffee just made! All my love to you and the family especially at this time with Miss Bluey, wishing you all the best, in the long run she will be a happy healthy doggo and that is all that matters, wishing her all the healing in the next few months 💕What an exciting new chapter incoming with the new home! Cannot wait for the Autumn vlogs 🍁🥹
I had to search for the bluey part because i was soooo worried...almost didn't want to watch the vlog because i was so scared for the news. She will be so much better after the surgery meg! My first dog had a similar condition and i know she will be fine! Sending you all my love ❤ and i absolutely love your little Winnie! 🤩🙃
My cocker spaniel had her eye out due to glaucoma and you could tell by her energy afterwards she was relieved and wasn’t in pain anymore. It’s not as bad as you think once the swelling goes down (fur grows back and it basically looks normal) and they have no idea what’s happening, they just know they feel better.
Thank you for keeping everything so real. Moving house is stressful enough, let alone a poorly pup, and a 1 year old 😂🙈 Keep going Meg! I’m excited to see house stuff 🤩✨
Aww bless my Shih tzu needed he’s eye removed he was in so much pain and so many visits to the vets in the end we was advised to remove the eye. I was upset 😢 but he was so much more comfortable once he had he’s eye removed and he is doing great now. They adapt so well with one eye and still look cute 🥰
Bluey has already adapted to having sight in only one eye so the operation will only be sparing her any further discomfort. It's so hard but you're doing the right thing ❤
At one yr old some kids go through a sleep regression that doesn’t mean they don’t need a nap, just keep doing the one nap and she will adjust fine it will take her maybe 4 weeks to fully adjust. Sleep is essential for their brain development. Also when you read her a book even if she gets up continue reading the book until it’s over, and when you are done say aloud all done, that way she understands how a book works, and the concept of a task from beginning to end.
I feel you! I have a 13 month old, my cat has developed a skin condition- or we think it’s that, so on meds and back and forth to the vets, oh and to top it off we get married in Cyprus in 5 weeks time 😅 again very small minor things and also very happy with the holiday and marriage, but wow….. the word overwhelmed some days does not even cut it 🫣🥴 Also think my little girl is about to drop her second nap…. Send help 😅💘you’re all amazing as a family we love watching you guys, hope Blueey is ok sending love ❤️❤️
I'm sorry about Blue, Meg.. My baby pup had all his teeth removed when he was about 6 and it broke my heart, too. But he's 14 years old now and is totally normal and can still eat kibble. He's way happier and healthier now at 14 than he was at 6 when he'd get back to back tooth infections. Sending a big hug to you and your pup
Oh im so sorry its so hard when something is wrong with your fur baby 😭 its so normal that you tried your best to save her eye and youd probably kick yourself if you didnt! All you can do is try your best, she’ll be okay🥺🫶🏻
So sorry to hear about bluebell's eye😢. Try to find comfort in knowing that you tried to save her eye. Sometimes we put unnecessary stress on ourselves...especially over things we can not control. Speaking from experience lol. Not that it ever makes it any easier. It physically hurts to love something so much. Just remember you r doing everything u can, and our stress/worry really doesn't help or solve anything. She's still the bestest girl😊
My 2 year olds favorite movie is moana too! He eill either tell me he wants to watch moana or he calls it you're welcome. Cutest thing ever. Hope everything goes well with Bluebell and yalls new house. ❤
Our little Oreo has lived with one eye for 6 years or more now, and he’s perfectly happy. His was due to quite a traumatic accident unfortunately, but he adjusted so fast. Sending all positivities and love 🫶
A designated kid area is something I miss. We rent at the moment but will be buying within the next couple of years 🤞🏻 If we are given the opportunity to purchase the home we currently live in, we have empty attic space that we want to renovate and turn into a loft area just for the kids. If it's a new home entirely, we will choose something that has the extra space already.
Hi Meg 🫶🏼 I work in equine vet med & have worked with countless ophthalmology patients. What I’ve seen is that the eyes are so temperamental & finicky. Nothing you did was wrong, giving it the chance was a good choice but sometimes it just doesn’t pan out 🫶🏼 & that’s ok. Animals adapt so well & Blue will too
I’m sure it’ll be a huge relief once she gets the eye removed! No more pain for her and she will look adorable! Like she’s constantly winking at you haha. I walk a dog with only one eye and I swear it makes him 100% cuter!
Sending so much love to bluee, you and Nial, we can't underestimate the love we feel for our pets, they're like our children ❤❤ P.s. you can use us to scream to whenever, this is a safe space 😂❤
I’ve also experienced a dog having to have their eye removed & she adapted so well & looks so cute I call her captain skye now 😂 sending love to Bluey ❤
It sounds so crazy and maybe weird to some people but I've been following you for so long I remember when little Bluey came home and my heart breaks for her all the time but little Blue is going to be just fine! I also recently adopted a kitten and her name is Blue (not after Bluebell lol) but my last name starts with B so I always call her Bluey B like you do with her :) she just got spayed yesterday and I've cried 3 times so I can relate but it's going to be okay mama
loved the vlog but girlie did you just say reputation is tay’s worst album? 👀 just when i was thinking wow we’re so similar 😂😂 anyways good luck with the move and lots of well wishes for Blue, i’m sure the surgery will go super!❤
Before you remove her eye, Put couple drops of pure organic castor oil on your dog eye, do this everyday try it for 3 months and see if there is any improvement.
Hi Meggan, I have an 8 year old whippet and around a year ago now she had issues with her eye. We ended up getting it removed and it was the best decision. She’s so much happier and honestly hasn’t changed how she is. I hope bluebell is ok and wish you and her all the best xx

I totally agree, Meggan. Trying to juggle going back to work and home life with a one year old, can be a struggle.
The journals looks amazing

You are such a good mommy to Bluebell.. she will feel better and doggies adapt so well.. Even tho it’s such a difficult thing to have to do.
I was so excited to watch the vlog.. sending lots of good energy. Your videos always make my day better ❤
Lots of love and good thoughts for sweet Blue
Winn looks just like Niall it’s so cute ツ I love you guys
Sending so much love to bluee, you and Nial, we can't underestimate the love we feel for our pets, they're like our children ❤❤
P.s. you can use us to scream to whenever, this is a safe space 😂❤
So excited to see the new house.x
Yes yes we are dvd queens we have so many and still play then as hubby sourced me a dvd vcr player ❤❤❤
I’ve also experienced a dog having to have their eye removed & she adapted so well & looks so cute I call her captain skye now 😂 sending love to Bluey ❤
Sending love to Bluebell 🐶💕
Loved the vlog and I hope bluey is okay! Where is the grey zip up hoodie from? ❤
I switched all my babies (5) from two naps to one nap at 10months … One nap was in the afternoon and would average about 2-2.5 hrs
Winnie is just such a gorgeous girly 🥹🥹🥹
It sounds so crazy and maybe weird to some people but I've been following you for so long I remember when little Bluey came home and my heart breaks for her all the time but little Blue is going to be just fine! I also recently adopted a kitten and her name is Blue (not after Bluebell lol) but my last name starts with B so I always call her Bluey B like you do with her :) she just got spayed yesterday and I've cried 3 times so I can relate but it's going to be okay mama
So sorry about bluebell Megan :(
Also…..can’t believe you said Rep is the worst!! Hands down best part of the show 😂
Our son didn’t drop his nap until he was 3, I reckon you’ve got ages xox
Bluebell will be ok ❤️
I love your videos. Keep up the good work.
Happy to see u back ❤
She will be so much more comfortable if you do the surgery. She'll be perfectly fine with one eye.

Hi Meggan how are you happy Monday night to you and I enjoy your channel and you are amazing supporter happy Tuesday morning
Before you remove her eye, Put couple drops of pure organic castor oil on your dog eye, do this everyday try it for 3 months and see if there is any improvement.
My baby girl loves seeing Winnie on the TV 😂
Thinking of you and bluey so sad 😢

Hi Meggan, I have an 8 year old whippet and around a year ago now she had issues with her eye. We ended up getting it removed and it was the best decision. She’s so much happier and honestly hasn’t changed how she is. I hope bluebell is ok and wish you and her all the best xx
I liked your vlog 👍and I wish you a great day 🌞
Keep some dvds for road trips or long journeys for win
MEGGAN I can’t believe you just said that about reputation 😂💀
