    • @Broski_Nation
      @Broski_Nation  2 роки тому

      @@2.SlowHoonda Great question. So , on the bottom of your duck bill spoiler, you should have two holes , one on each end of the spoiler, that should line up with the holes left on the trunk from where the previous stock spoiler was mounted at. But make sure you verify first before mounting it on. Once verified, use the 3M double-sided mounting tape, and line it up, and apply down pressure so the tape bonds between the spoiler and trunk.Once done, secure it by using self tapping screws , one for each hole made from the previous spoiler. I went through the bottom side of the trunk and screwed into the aligned holes from the trunk and Duckbill spoiler. I used a self tapping screw that was similar in width as the holes from the spoiler. Id also add a washer so that bolt do go anywhere. And your all set!

      This covers the basics. But when you remove the old spoiler, cover the holes with electrical tape, to prevent from water getting inside. Also, if your Duck Bill spoke comes with drill holes at the bottom of it, use them. 3M Tape alone, wont keep the spoiler on if you driving on the freeway and getting that down force on that wing. The wing will start to flex back and rip off over a period time. Better to be safe than sorry. Get two self tapping screws , paired with one washer for each. I had to remove the trunk lip spoiler. So I had to open the trunk, remove the trunk carpet like covering. Which it held by 8 or 9 plastic honda push in fastener clips.Pop them up using a flat head screwdriver.Then when you look inside, you will see theres one screw holding it in, and the the rest are honda style clips, a bitch to pop out unless you have the proper clip tool, which i didn’t 😅. On top of that, the lip spoiler had some type of 3m tape holding it down on top of the trunk.
      For me, I had to remove the bolt, and break the clips( Because I did have a specialty tool to properly remove the clips ). I then had to pry up the spoiler with a flat head tool. Be careful not to scratch the paint. Though , during the process, I did break the spoiler, but didn’t care , as I was not using anymore. Then remove the left over glue adhesive . I used a rubber eraser attachment that connects to a 18v 3/8” adjustable electric drill. It made for removing glue from car surfaces.
      Then on your new spoiler , you’ll notice two screw holes that line up with the holes where the old spoiler was at. But before you screw it in, take notice when you place the spoiler on the trunk where it makes contact on the trunk. Then apply the 3m tape to the spoiler where it makes contact to the trunk. Then apply pressure throughout the spoiler to the trunk so it binds to the trunk surface .
      Next, open up the trunk, and locate the holes that line up with the spoiler holes . I used a two 8 or 9mm self tapping screws, no more than 1.5 inches long. Once screwed in, you’re done 😎

      You know, whats funny , is a buddy of mine were having this same conversation recently 🤣. But, while I agree partly that I could have gotten an Si , there was a reason why I chose the Sport over the Si. It was based on my own personal needs. The 10th gen Civic was the first gen to get the 1.5T. It was also in this gen with that motor, you were dealing oil dilution. I wanted nothing to do with that, but more importantly, I already came from a previous vehicle that had a turbo in it. Yes it was fun to drive, but it was becoming a money pit. Were I’m at in my life right now, I wanted something more simple. Hence why i chose the Civic Sedan Sport w/ 2.0 n/a engine. No turbos I’d have to worry about going bad later on to have to pay for to replace. Granted, not a fan of cvt , but, Im happy to have what I have. Its paid for, and really, thats all I care about . To each their own.

    How do you install that hood protector? Just 3M double sided tape?

    • @Broski_Nation
      @Broski_Nation  2 роки тому

      Its really easy . When you order the Weathertech hood protector, it already has the 3m tape on it. It also comes with this wipe pad , an adhesion promoter, you apply to the area where you place the hood protector at. And you’re good to go!

      But N/A serve an alternative option for those who want better reliability and aren’t looking for performance. Boring to drive, Sure, but if it serves that person need, good for them.
      I had a car with a turbo,fun as hell to drive, but it was becoming a money pit ( 2014 Chevy Malibu w/ a 2 liter Turbo (LTG 2.O liter Turbo) and i sold it and got me this Civic. Not fast, but i got it for the reliability aspect. It’s s paid off, and I enjoy it. But man, that feeling of when that turbo kicks in and pushes you back in your seat…it’s amazing 😌
