I love how this guy's voice goes from corny and high pitched, to serious, like his Ichigo voice.
Za Ali not really, his higher pitched voice sounds more silly and ...dorky for lack of a better way to describe it. I prefer his deeper, Ichigo sort of voice.

I think people hound JYB for his lack of range way too often. While he isn't a voice acting chameleon like Nolan North, Steve Blum, Frank Welker, Fred Tatasciore & Robin Atkin Downes, JYB gets his roles based off of how emotive he is. The voice directors/ADR people that cast him see that and that's why they have recycle the voice constantly. The same argument can be said for most Japanese VA's. They all sound the same most of the time. But they hardly get any flack for it. Kind of a double standard there if you ask me.
While range does show how varied you can be, it can't be supplemented without acting. It has to sound believable. While I can understand your frustration for his lack of range, expecting him to show it as often as some other VA's in different fields of acting, I think you'll be disappointed.
Speaking of range, even this video showcases that JYB can do different voices. So the whole "JYB having no range" argument is moot.
As for BioZero216, while I understand your frustration, you have to understand that that is how certain people feel. I understand the comment was made 7 months ago, but you shouldn't let this get to you as much. That's just some advice you should take.
Shaun N Ince Plus his range does get high at times? Emil for example is definitely a good break in his usual role
Shaun N Ince I actually find it equally impressive that his "one voice" can fit all those characters. Or maybe I'm just saying that because JYB was a Power Ranger? I don't know. All I know is I hope he never changes.

I certainly hope the ones who think range makes a voice actor NEVER try to do that in the studio.
Voice acting is ACTING.
Range is a commodity. A bag of candy you can take with you. But what producers look for is natural character voices.
My natural voice is my greatest weapon. It's what I've been hired for 85% of my roles. It's what the producers want.

Every time I hear JYB, all I can see is Ichigo from Bleach. It was the first thing I heard him in.
Thomas Lanton First time I ever saw JYB was in Power Rangers back in the 90s :P The first time I'd heard him as just a voice actor was probably when my big brother brought over Akira when it hit DVD in 2001 in the US.

I first heard him as Sasori and Genma, but I didn't realise he was the same voice actor until Lelouch and Ichigo.

He has played different kinds of characters so he has a good range,unless your talking about his voice, In Eureka seven he uses a more boyish voice as Renton,he can do different voices. If the voice fits the character and he can voice them convincingly I have no issue with that voice being used often. Johnny is one of the best in the buisness he is in my top 10 and he will always be the Power Ranger Adam Park to me

A lot of people don't realize that voice ACTING, has more to do with acting than voicing! I bet you 100% that many of these professional voice over actors started off acting on stage, doing local theater performances, NOT just sitting in a booth and trying to make as many different voices as they can, cause when it all comes down to it, voice acting is ACTING. Even if you can make a lot of different voice, it's pointless if you can't make those voice believable. If you can't make those emotions come out. All voice actors will always say the same thing, wanna voice act? Go out and act! JYB may sound "the same" with most of the character's he's voiced, but his emotions/acting skills is epic! I mean come on, He was the green ranger in The Power Ranger show, a lot of times we didn't see his face when he was in his green ranger suit, so what did he had to do? Make his voice sound really believable to what was going on in those scenes.

Anime is a field of voice acting that isn't really dominated by range or variety, it's more based off of how well you can emote & sounding convincing in the role.

Not trying to criticize but all his characters sound pretty much the same. Also, that's awesome how he went from playing Black Ranger in Power Rangers, to playing Lelouch in Code Geass, Ichigo in Bleach and other anime characters. Johnny is very talented. He's a martial artist, musician and voice actor.
I can always tell it's Johnny voice. But I learned how he sounds through izaya orihara from durarara. Freaking amazing voice acting he does. And now he is the voice of nero in devil may cry 5. Awesome!!!!!!
6:06 Gosh Johnny Yong Bosch's Japanese with the American is really good as Yu Narukami. :) And he has also played Adam the Black Ranger in Mighty Morphin Power Rangers and then the Green Ranger in Zeo & Turbo. :D

I don't know why, but I love his voice, and every time I hear his voice in a game or anime, I instantly fall in love with the thing he is voicing in. I just REALLY love it. You can distinguish his voice in games/anime, and you don't need to search up the anime/game to reassure yourself, you just know. And also his voice sounds smexy :3

I've always been a fan of his Ichigo and really like him in Persona 4's anime. I found his Yu and Adachi quite fitting even though Adachi sounded sillier in the anime than the game.
