Thank you for your insight in regards to IoT devices and Plan 9! I have finished the IoT section of my research paper, however it only goes over the flaws present in the self-contained island nature of UNIX. The solutions we had discussed will come in the Plan 9 section. Coincidentally I had begun writing about name spaces when you posted the name space video. I have been informed the due date for my paper is much sooner than initially presented to me, so I will be unable to go into meticulous, thorough detail like I had initially intended, however this will not prevent me from revising the paper in the future. I intend to flesh out the paper into a book that will go over every single technical detail and historical note.
I'm fairly lazy when it comes to setting up Linux systems now, and I just use Mint. When I was young and really into Linux I used to do more custom stuff, and do things like run compiz with spinning 3D cube desktops and the like. Now, I just run Mint on laptops and desktops, and use FreeBSD for my file servers. I started using Mint because it came preloaded on the used computers I bought from FreeGeek. Also, my wife and kids have no trouble with it since it looks and behaves like old Windows.
A big history of all the computing concepts would be fun, but I'm not a big enough celebrity to pull off an hours long youtube video. If I get popular enough, I might add more history.
3 adventuresin9 vids in one day. crazy

What GNU/Linux distribution do you use in your laptop?

@@adventuresin9 "Linux used to be fun", I've lost count of how many times I've heard it.
I'm rather annoyed you skipped over the history of timesharing, i.e. CTSS, and Multics; without those, you wouldn't have Unix.

@adventuresin9797 It's still jarring.
