still learning the tune on my AFC Live since adding fueling goodies..smoke free and EGT control is my goal while 2Xing my HP and 3Xing my TQ.. thanks for all your R&D on these old, but worthy engines !!!
I’ve been a gas head my whole life, torn a few hemi motors down as well with some fords. Wanted to get into the diesel world. I just bought a 12 valve today with almost no knowledge. (Had a buddy who builds them go) but your videos have been such a help. Subscribed! But do you have a breakdown for dumbies like me? If not I’d look forward to it in the future.
You did your hair for the video... how hard was that for you to be serious 🤓😃🤪. No but seriously, thank you. The husband wants one of these for our first gen. And I hope to get it for him. Thanks for educating me.
If you were to have it turned all the way down could you adjust it so that you would get the maximum fuel economy? While also driving like a grandma etc.
G56 out of a 2005.5 to 2018 5.9 or 6.7 Cummins. I have 98 12valve and just Put one in my truck so easy it bolts right up 13” south bend clutch for a 2008 Dodge Ram 2500 works great. Watch V-belt and son put one in his 98 check out his videos Have Great day
Great idea but good luck getting it to pass Davis County Ut Emissions. I was give a difficult time over an aftermarket intake that was emissions compliant.
Have y’all put this truck on a dyno to see HP and TQ numbers? I have a near identical setup in my 97, minus the 6 speed, and have always been curious what kind of numbers I would make.
I bought an AFCLive but I think my max travel spring might be too heavy for my setup. I believe I went with the ~40psi spring but I generally only boost to 20-25psi when towing. The AFCLive doesn't seem to do anything at all, I really can't tell any difference. Is my spring too stiff for my setup (PDD 500hp fueling kit with K27 turbo).
I just installed mine and having some problems. I have a 215 pump, 5x12 100hp injectors, and a s362sxe turbo. I’m making about 43lbs of boost so I put the 30-45 max travel spring in the afc. I have the afc in the middle position and I’m still seeing lots of smoke even with the afc live fully restricted. I also Kant really tell the difference when the switch is flipped on or off.
it runs at full air pressure signal to the afc housing so based on what afc spring and how much boost you produce you should have full afc foot travel and max fuel
I wish I could do this with my 6.5 GM detroit diesel. But yeah black smoke is wasted fuel. Black smoke just means you need more air. Time for compounds or a bigger turbo.
So when you’re tuning for egt and you adjust your max power back to where the afc only sees 10 psi, does that mean my aftermarket K27 will be limited to 10 psi as well or still achieve the set wastegate pressure?
Hey guys we're installing the system in a 98 12 valve. is it possible to run to lean with the system? Is that something we need to worry about. My guess is not.
My pump is maxed and a gutted afc, sometimes ya just gotta send it. 60ibs of boost at over 4K rpms on stock headbolts, valvesprings and pushrods if that tells you how much I care🤷🏻♂️
D I hope you’re joking, this is meant to clean up the exhaust thus improving mpg. The “coal” is unburnt fuel-to much for the engine, trimming it back to save fuel thus eliminating the smoke/wasted fuel. This is perfect for a 12v/ P-pumped 24v pulling a trailer/camper. Set max egt - cruise and forget it.
And nobody wants to live where ignorant people like you live. That "coal" is mostly carbon that just settles onto the ground and helps the grass to grow. Less Co2 in the air if its on the ground I suppose.

AFC LIVE...Is a must for a 12v ! I install it in my Privies truck and it works perfect 👍 no more messing around with the fuel plate and star wheel.
I don't see how I can live without this, now that I know about it.

Awesome stuff guys!! Wish this was out back when I had my 12-valve haha.
buy one I sold mine 12 years ago and bought my 97 4 years ago 450 fuel pack and a k27 Afc live and I like it better then my 2005 cummins
You guys have the make the best products!!!!!

Awesome I have 98 12 valve with afc live and just put a G56 in the truck is Awesome Now Thank You Awesome Video

is that a zf6 swapped in it??! and AFC live for life. I cant imagine not having one now lol

On my bucket list once the swap is done.
Will the AFC work on a 4BT with a P pump?
Love my AFC Live. Best invention ever for a 12v.

I don't think too many are pumping up 12v's in areas where smog police live and work

Doin this with .055 delivery valves on Friday Stock 160hp truck Got 20k to tow to the races in Topeka Gosh I hope I can tow faster the 60mph

Did you figure it out ?
@@EastMenloPark1650 not yet. Ordered the medium spring kit but haven't installed it yet
True inventive genius
Another great video guys! #mechanicalmafia #dinosaurpower
Can you tune it to get any better mileage or just more power cuz I really want both 😂

Did you install the qvv valve? if so remove that from the equation, if that dose not work take a line and run it straight from the head to the p7100.
@@pddofficial I got it all working, hate to say it operator error.
So when the toggle switch is off and the AFC life is bypass it runs as a stock truck ? Or the last setting you left it in? Or what exactly
it runs at full air pressure signal to the afc housing so based on what afc spring and how much boost you produce you should have full afc foot travel and max fuel
So when the toggle is off is basically runs at Max potential?
Christopher Guerrero yes, just as if it wasn’t even there and the afc was plumbed directly to the head as stock.
I wish I could do this with my 6.5 GM detroit diesel. But yeah black smoke is wasted fuel. Black smoke just means you need more air. Time for compounds or a bigger turbo.

There is no control the turbo, but by controlling fueling it effects the turbo that's down line.
killer beard brother nice truck what dose your truck put down power wise?

No a diesel can only run lean with nitrous or propane injection
Hello this is Francisco I have a question will AFC Live work on a 1997 Dodge Ram
Sure what do you need to know
Would this work for a P-Pumped 24V?
Yes
would this work with a bone stock 1992 12 valve or does it have to have a p pump
Your truck doesn't have a p pump, only on 94-97 trucks. Unless you do a p pump swap
What afc max travel spring was in this truck with the k27
30-35
I wish i had this on my truck before it got stolen. 😕
Too bad you didn't show the knobs. Could you redo the video with the camera on the knobs , please
Haven’t saw it in the comments yet so I’ll say it...
“My afc is my right foot!”
Garett Conner still cannot control fuel rate very efficiently or max egt on cruise.
My pump is maxed and a gutted afc, sometimes ya just gotta send it. 60ibs of boost at over 4K rpms on stock headbolts, valvesprings and pushrods if that tells you how much I care🤷🏻♂️
Santiago Club
Amelie Plain
So basically pull power till it quits smoking and pull power till the egt is happy…
Hilll Mall
And the EPA worries about some VW 2.0 diesel xD hypocrites
How does that make the EPA hypocrites? I don't understand what you are trying to say. What does this have to do with the EPA???
That makes no sense at all.
You ruin the environment...i wouldnt want to live in a place with all that coal in the air
LOL!

what's a tree hugging liberal doing on our 12 valve channel? Who let him in the party?
@@consaka1 its not going to stay on the ground. It will also settle in your lungs once the wind blows...
So this really only matters in Cali where you are lol. Cause here in Missouri they don't care.
