This got to be one of the best instructional videos. The slowing down of the beat with close up of the movement is really helpful. The hip move on tap is super sexy over the standard tap.
I was browsing through the various videos to show a friend the basic steps. I already dance bachata but the men's steps I am not able to explain. I found this video my favourite. It looked fluid, natural and was clearly instructed without taking forever to demonstrate the steps, which I find frustrating. The both of you dance naturally without making it look forced. Thank you.
Little trick for the hip... 1- Keep the leg with the weight steady with the heel to the floor. 2- For the leg that does the touch, straighten out the knee without bringing Down the heel of that foot. Result: Automatic hip bump.
Thanks! That hip move on tap is essential, never learned how to do it correctly replacing it by an ugly generic plain tap... Very helpful video tutorial. Could you re-up this in a higher quality?
Thanks for your comment Alex... we tried many ways to maximize the quality during the rendering... but it was filmed more than 12 years ago... so no HD back then:)
Oh, que lastima. But that was a hell of a long ago though... hello to 2006 :) Anyways, this tutorial is the most precise I've seen so far and it helped me to rework my wrong move patterns. Even at the Bachata lessons these moves are being tought only once and the next moment no one pays attention at them but the figure chains that's what matters... as the result, people continue dancing using wrong patterns without even knowing that. Slow motion, explanation and repetition = great tutorial :) Thanks
