My mom was asking me about the Opus lately and I own an SK40 for Turkish coffee. Interesting. Looking forward to part 2!

Thanks!! Hopefully this helps a bit. I’m going to try to get the filter brew comparison done as quickly as I can 🤘☕️

Hi Aaron, thanks for the video.
Just as a note, for the Opus, the plastic lid can can be used as a bellows (by sliding it up and down). cheers!

which is easier to clean? can you compare it to the sette 270, DF54, and eureka notte for light roasts? thanks

Thanks for the great videos Aaron, really enjoying your channel and this is helpful. Would love to see how these grinders compare to the Encore ESP as another $199 espresso grinder.
Your background set design is really great. Any chance you can share where you got your lighting and storage unit? Really like the black metal aesthetic.

Thanks!! If I can get my hands on an ESP I will definitely make that video!
As for my bar and lighting, the cabinets themselves are from IKEA but I can’t remember the name of the series. They come in various sizes so you can configure a setup that works for you I have 2 of the shorter ones with lower storage sores and the one taller shelf unit on the right side. As for lighting the tall lamp on the left is also from IKEA and the small lamp on top of the bar is from Target. The long tube light on the right is a led light tube from Nanlite. The main light I use to light myself for the videos is a Godox SL200II with an Aputure Light Dome.

I know they're in pretty different budget categories, but would you say there's a big difference between the Turin and the MHW3 for espresso?

    • @coffeenerdaaron

I haven’t compared them directly side by side yet but if memory serves I prefer the Turin over the MHW. I think the burrs are better in the Turin.

Not gonna lie, I can't stand my Opus. If you brew espresso mostly, steer clear of it. The usability is so damn frustrating. Just decided to make the investment towards a DF64 Gen 2

What setting did you use for the SK?

I am around 3.5ish on my SK for a specialty darker roast which isn’t all that dark. Med-dark on a profitec go 18 in 36-40 out in around 30 secs

is the turin the same as the miicoffee d40+?? seems like it has different names in different countries

    • @coffeenerdaaron
      @coffeenerdaaron  2 місяці тому

Turin, Mii coffee, and a few other brands are basically all using the same grinders made by a white label manufacturer. I do believe Turin works with them to provide different and better burr options than the others.

@@coffeenerdaaron interesting, i can only find a miicoffee branded grinder in canada and will be purchasing one soon. i hope its as good as i see the reviews

@@coffeenerdaaron also, the d40+ is stepless instead of clicks for the grinding levels which i think is better overall
