@@ahmadal-jafari5599 hiya, i did find it quite difficult to research to be honest there was a lot of contrasting information out there and it was hard to understand a lot of the articles and published research i found, but i did enjoy the research and found it really interesting, i didn’t end up completing my epq but my question was really broad, yours sounds a lot more specific i’m sure you’ll be able to find a lot of information on it it is incredibly interesting :)

my main issue is making it analytical rather than descriptive. mines really long snd very scientific i chose a really complicated topic because that's my passion but i have no idea how to make something scientific analytical 😩

Just a quick question should I put all the advantages together and then all the disadvantages together or do u think I should alternate each one! Xx
I think alternating would be good! It makes it come across as more balanced 💘 but you could double check with your supervisor too if unsure!

My EPQ topic is on whether there’s a relationship between ethnicity and certain medical conditions and I’m currently struggling as I’m unsure of how to find good sources. What type of things did you use?
I used articles and journals that I found from Google scholar plus a couple of BBC articles too x

I want to apply for medicine in October and I’m doing my epq on to what extent should the NHS treat self-inflicted illnesses . I’m so worried that I’m going get a low grade :/

Yeah go ahead :) It can be quite difficult to find EPQ essays online. I think it's best to speak to people you know who've done epq and look at their essays

im only in year 11 but wanted to get an idea of what doing an EPQ is like. i am really interested in neurology and neurochemistry so i will probably do something on that. any ideas?
you could do something on dementia or parkinsons, theres a lot of research in those areas :)

hi this is a very helpful video.Idid want to ask I want to mainly use books and respected websites but is it okay to have a few podcasts and UA-cam videos since my EPQ is about true crime.

It says here you can use UA-cam videos as sources! www.ucas.com/connect/blogs/how-approach-epq-research-epq-advice-3 I think as long as you touch on credibility and reliability of the UA-cam video/podcast in your log that should be fine :) You could double check with your supervisor too

Hey, I didn’t make a contents page for my EPQ but you could definitely add one to help the reader navigate between topics. Have a chat with your advisor too to see if it’s needed :)

Yes! So much to talk about and there’ll be plenty of resources out there too, I’d say include US or UK in the title so it’s more specific

i’m going into year 12 however we have to pick our epq topic before starting, i want too do it on “why certain races are more susceptible too disease”, do you think this is a good one?
That sounds really interesting, I think it's a great topic :) You could even talk about a few different diseases and compare how they affect different races!

hiii i was wondering how much time you used to actually write the essay after doing all your research? and how did you reference your sources
My EPQ took around 10 hours to write the initial draft (over a few weeks), then I spent a couple weeks redrafting.
I did my references as footnotes. So I'd write a little number next to the source in my paragraphs, and then include the references as a footnote at the bottom of each page.
