You should've put the hdd in the caddy and ssd in the main sata port to get the right speed.

It doesn't matter, the 2.5" SATA SSD can only provide upto 500 mbps of read/write speeds, and the optical drive's SATA connector can handle 1.5 Gbps of speed so until there aren't any 2.5" SATA SSDs that can provide speeds more than 1.5Gbps, it won't matter, whether in the caddy or in the actual spot, the speed of 2.5" SATA SSD will be 500 mbps

@@samyakjain6795 It matters! that 540Mb/s is only for SATA3 and not for SATA1 which is connected to the optical drive. On that it will give way less than 540Mb/s. So SSD should be preferred on that SATA3 interface only.
@@harshits6960 I have it connected with my SATA1 connector, my WD SATA 2.5" SSD have 500Mb/s write and 520MB/s advertised speeds! I've checked that claim with CrystalDiskMark and indeed got 480-520MB/s write speeds with 500-540MB/s read speeds, It really doesn't matter if you set it up with SATA3 or SATA1, it's just wasted hardwork to pry open the back lid and disrupt the delicate assembly of an old machine specially
It was nice to see. But you didn't need to remove the laptop's back panel, only 5 screws and the optical drive.
Wait, did you really need to open up the computer? Taking out the screws would suffice right? You didnt do anything to the system after openig so im confused

not compulsory. You might find hard to pull out the drive if u want to without it.
@@KLGamers just tested my logic on my laptop after looking at your video.. It works 😊 although for ram I would still need to open it.. And Thanks to your video i ordered a caddy.. It was never in my thoughts that things like that exist

Yes it worked perfectly by just sliding in the caddy in the CD rom slot

If optical drive in this model provides 1.5 gbps where as main HDD having 6 Gbps.
here my preference is good boot speed.
so is it preferable to replace my hard-disk to new ssd and let me install existing harddisk by this caddy adapter since I don't care about storage load time.
What are your opinion on that?
Will this method provide me all 6Gbps if I install new ssd on where my current hard-disk located?

actually you can just try it out by yourself. Sometimes I found out that if I fix the HDD to the caddy it would not provide enough power to the HDD hence it will not show up in windows. In my opinion i would recommend just using the SSD and the HDD taken out to fix into a 2.5" USB3 casing to use as an external HDD
What did you do ? I have the same question so I don't know what to do, I was thinking about the speed that the optical bay provides bit IDK if it changes if I put the SSD istead of the optical device
No storage device provides 6Gbps in the first place! It's the SATA connector! It can support upto 6Gbps transfers but there is no storage device that gives than much speed! The most that SATA devices can handle is 540Mb/s! Then there are M.2, M.2 NVMe, and M.2 NVMe PCIe gen 3-4 SSDs which supports higher speeds but they need a different kind of slot!

The DELL Inspiron 15 5567 has SATA 1 port for the CD Drive and the SSD supports SATA 3, so does it still give good performance on the SATA 1 port?

SATA 1 port can handle more 500Mb/s transfers! And a 2.5 ssd can only give that much of speed! So it works perfectly fine in the optical drive

For those who have doubts about which tool to use to open this computer (Notebook Inspiron i15-5567-A40C), use the tool (+ 2.5) that is present in several Toolkits. What I bought, on the ebay, was the JAKEMY JM-8151 kit. I hope it helped you.

@@anujbarochia3845 I didn't clone OS from HDD. I placed SSD in place of HDD and installed a fresh copy of windows 10 on it. Also the secondary hdd caddy did not work for me. It was very slow and got disconnected frequently while downloading/transferring big files. So I bought a PiBox SATA to USB adapter to use my HDD as external. It works very well now.
Still if you want to clone then you have to boot into the os on your HDD which is only possible if the HDD is in its original place and SSD in optical drive's place. After cloning you can swap their places.

HDD is much slower than the SSD. Some laptops don't have enough power to support 2 HDD. Usually dual HDD or dual drive config is not recommended as it drains the battery drive and creates more heat.

SATA 6 gbps for hdd

@@anujbarochia3845 cloning the OS is not a good idea. Instead go for a clean install of windows using bootable win10 usb, as I did.
Cloning will result in problems afterwards.
Create a win10 usb using media creation tool and remove the hdd and place the ssd inside.Install fresh win10 on ssd , it will faster and smoother.then you can place the hdd in optical drive, whenever you want.(but only problem is the drivers and software reinstallation, see my other reply to this comment)
@@anujbarochia3845 You need to prepare well if you you are clean installing. Download all necessary drivers from company website beforehand, take screenshot of all installed drivers, sysinfo and programs.save these to a third usb.
@@anujbarochia3845 and if you want to clone, then i think pacing the ssd in hdd bay and hdd in optical bay would be fine, but i again recommend clean install

It support speeds upto 2400MHz, you can buy any one either 2133 or 2400 it won't matter much, but if you want higher speeds then overclock you ram, just keep in mind don't overclock too much like 3200MHz or somthing

As far as I know, that's the best way to do this procedure. Cloning the HDD into the SSD and leaving the HDD in the caddy.

@@anujbarochia3845 Step 1 for sure. That's how we did it on mine. That way you take advantage of the reading speed from the HDD slot, instead of the DVD slot.
