Great Story Bill Love the Action Packed Ending Did not thing you to make it back in Time Glad you found your cat penny. We Lost are Black cat Reba 3 weeks ago she was over 20 years old I wish I could go back in time to see her again
Sorry that you lost your cat, they are just like family. I named the cat in the movie Winnie since I had lost my tuxedo cat Winnie about four years ago, I still miss her.
This was cool Bill. Way to go Katie and the whole cast and crew. Lots of love went into this filmwork - the attention to detail and action packed ending. Keep them coming!
I enjoyed this episode immensely and I was feeling kinda nostalgic watching you walking the streets and shops of 1967. That was the year that Canada was celebrating it's centennial birthday and the air was rife with celebration on the summer of July 1967 in my small town in Ontario which is not too unlike Lyons.
Thanks, I always wished I could revisit that time again and look around the town. I was 16 that year and Young Will was just like me building electronic projects and watching Star Trek. That was Nebraska' centennial too, I had to make up special license plates for all the cars.
I was on the edge of my seat from the moment Penny jumped through the time gate! While the dime used to pay for the comic book could have been a silver one contemporary to 1967 (and seldom does anyone pay attention to them), that $5 bill could cause some trouble. Amazing job by all! "Live your own dreams." That brought a tear to my eye. Perfect! Where was the observatory featured originally? I guess I am so spaced out I think every town should have a googie-style observatory. A question for William: Did you notice that its easy to catch a cat indoors, but as soon as they are outdoors they half forget who you are and immediately revert to wild mode and seem to enjoy making the catch difficult?
I'm glad you liked it. I wasn't even sure if people would catch the $5 bill joke since we're all used to the big headed Lincoln now. I supposed he might get arrested for counterfeiting if he tried to buy something with it. That could be a set up for an alternative timeline for The Cat Came Back 2 if I wanted to make that. :) The exterior of the observatory and hill were just miniatures and the interior was just the lower walls with a digital matte painting of the dome. Thanks, you probably have to pause some parts to see all the easter eggs, some go by fast, like the book Germelshausen, the basis for the following episode.
1:50 There it is. Matt Parker actually walked through that door! Damn, seeing the tv tube replacement box. Always having to open the back and find the likely culprit and run down and test it. Then hope the store had that one in stock. Helluva memory there.
The spaceship is the one permanent standing set for the series, the other sets are always changed out, even the TV shop was dressed just for that episode, since that building was used as other sets. It was earlier used as a Post Office. ua-cam.com/video/rIbx92cyYSc/v-deo.html
i wish i could get a set like the first couple scenes, but i am only 7 and have no money to build a set and i am shy, but i will try to make a movie with actors when im not shy.
I started making movies with my cat since I didn't think I could get actors. Only after I did that, did I get other actors wanting to help out with my movies. Also it doesn't take big sets either, just film what's around you and what you know about. A little creativity goes a long way to making a good filmmaker.
I had to do a double take, you remind me of Dr Karl a national treasure here in Australia for his phone in answering science questions on the radio. Here's an example ua-cam.com/video/1hQpUBd_i-4/v-deo.html Anyway enjoying the series, love the Lost in Space aesthetic.

Thanks, 1960s shows were a big influence on me and how I film.

Bravo! Everyone did a great job. Kudos on resetting Lyons retro look. Love all the easter eggs you put in.
