Love it! A very nice restoration and performance. I hope the spider is dancing with, and not terrorizing, that woman.
I just want to know about that extra leg coming up over its back is all about!
I am absolutely transported to celestial realms with Debussy's music. Koussevitzky, besides being a renowned contra-bassist, was a superb conductor. In my youth I had an RCA LP recording of Beethoven's 5th symphony with Koussevitzky conducting. 60 years later I still have never heard a better performance of that work.
I was surprised to hear that Koussevitzky was a bassist such as yourself, rather than piano or violin. I found both an original LP has well as vinyl 78s of the B5 on Discogs for a reasonable price and ordered them, so expect to hear it again sometime in the future.
Hello my old friend. Never heard the orchestral version but it's very nice.
Finishing up the "before" recordings from "Hearing is Believing" I found that Koussevitzky did a number of recordings in 1930 and fell down that rabbit hole.
