    great job mat, PRO lvl realisation :)
    but why you didn't use plastic containers of the same size, instead of those heavy metal ones?
    with plastic, u'll be able to change any one of them if there is any damage, also, you don't have to attach them strongly...

    • @KeeflaDiy
      @KeeflaDiy  3 роки тому

      Metal barrels are better joined by welding and I made a spike at the front.
      So that the raft sails better.
      I used plastic for a raft that is fixed to the lake and not intended for sailing.
      I normally work with metal so I opted for it.
      If by any chance one is damaged it is easy for me to replace.
      You can see the factory pontoons are always metal (aluminum or galvanized iron) because of the pointed part forward.
      I believe that plastic is better, but we do not have a company that deals with welding plastic nearby, and I have no experience myself.

    • @reidnichol9255
      @reidnichol9255 3 роки тому +1

      @@KeeflaDiy I found plastic welding very easy after finally getting a good welder. But, there is nothing wrong with using metal barrels. We have metal barrels with 20mil poly liners which have lasted 3-5 years in salt water. As they are free and poly barrels are $40US each, I would use steel in fresh water every time.

      Hi.
      I’m not sure I understand because my translator translates my words literally. The joints between the barrels are open so that water can pass between and when the boat is taken out of the water all the water comes out.
      And if you think in case the water enters the barrels, the barrels can be easily replaced although in water that is not salty barrels last for 10 years before they leak water.

      The barrels are empty inside, people often fill them with styrofoam or pur foam, I had no need because the barrels are new and the water is not salty and I know from the experience of other builders that it will take about 10 years before it leaks.

    How do you make the cones for the front of the boat

    • @KeeflaDiy
      @KeeflaDiy  3 роки тому +2

      First I made a shape out of paper, then I drew it on sheet metal. Metal sheet 3mm and welding machine.
