Awesome job on the raft! Those batteries are impressive, the real time monitoring is now a must have. Glad to to see the electric surfboard is still operational.
Lol I tried it a day before and nearly blew myself up with 200 amps 24 volts running trough cable to the negative pole and blowing it up (it melted in one milisecond) I was building a small 230volt setup just for fun (I want to meet Simon ) We wanted to build a camping in Sweden 🇸🇪 always will be the best UA-camr to me !
Here's an idea: install a big steering servo on the shaft of the motor. Then you could make the whole raft RC (goes with the channel name). But once that's done, install an Pixhawk with Arduboat and you can have the raft run waypoint missions around the lake while you party. Or just do station holding to account for the fact that you lost your anchor again. Or program the boat to follow the surfboard (it wouldn't be able to keep up, but it would at least be closer when you were done).
That's an awesome idea! Maybe it could be combined with solar panels for longer runtimes + energy for a cooler,. Also, adding a steering wheel (controlling the servo) on the top floor would be great!
Simon those brackets you put on to remove the brace are called knee joints. You should have knee joints on each column in 2 directions so you don't end up with a folding top floor.
That is slightly over constrained and I get the view and not hitting your head arguments. The staircase (and box) more or less takes care of the longitudal flex, the two joints in the back take care of the lateral forces. There is only a big twist left laterally in the front and only one joint behind the staircase would greatly reduce that without obstructing the view or passage of your head
I am glad to know I wasn't the only one thinking of Ardupilot! A couple of props on the bottom, throttle based steering (can't remember what it's called), ooh, could even do the fake anchor where gps keeps it in place!

Thank you so much! This video inspired me to build my own 4x4 Meter Raft! One of my best and definitely my biggest Project ever! I had the added challenge, that it needed to be portable, because I live in Germany. We dont have that many lakes, so always lots of swimmers in summer and youre not allowed to just keep your boats and rafts in the water for long periods of time. German regulations... whatever. Anyways I managed to divide the deck into 8 2x1 Meter wooden sections, so they can easily be put on a trailor and be transported to the lake, where the deck sections can be screwed to an underlying steel beam construction with m8 machine screws, so its rigid. Then you just fix a 200l plastic barrel under each section with ratchet straps. The whole process can be completed with 4 people in under an hour. An upper Deck would be a dream, but Its barely portable as it is now, so I think i will just put a beach umbrella on it for shade, and call it a day. Im super happy that I just went ahead and did it despite it being difficult, and I thank you very much once again for your inspiring video!

screw a panel of medium thickness plywood to the forward wall of your battery box and your side to side diagonal bracing will be improved. Similar panels on the inside of the end walls of the box will improve front to back stability. Looks like fun! Huge trolling motor!
