Just few tips : I've tried with 2 C to C cable, it doen't work (cheap charge cable ?) and my OTG adapter to the phone USB cable... and I doen't work too... until I've switched the side with the OTG adapter from phone to console, finally phone shared connection ! BUT could find the update menu, because on the reeived theme it's hidden, I've changed the theme and finally the update menu is found, and update launched.
I just got my R36S and youtube somehow recommended me this channel since i was looking for ways to update it once it arrived. The ironic thing is i have a z fold 4 and i am using the usb cable to my z fold 4 to update it lol.

Thats great, just bought my son one of these and was thinking of buying a dongle. Now ill just use my pixel 7 and if that doesn't work when it arrives ill buy the dongle.

Many thanks for this ( much needed) help. I don't have a PC or a WiFi dongle. Either my phone or my usb c to usb c cable wasn't up to the job for tethering but i was able to hook my console up to my wifi router using an ethernet to usb a adapter and a usb a to usb c adapter. I wouldn't recommend buying anything you don't already have but if you have the requisite cables and the tethering option fails this option worked for me.
Just use a good cable with USB tethering!! Did take awhile, but this is much easier than formatting and downloading etc..etc..etc.. Just did it and works great, updated to the newest 1/27/24...Just Subbed!! Thanks

Just did it work perfectly. My question is, could you install a fresh arkos using android to put onto a branded sd card with games? using a card reader and a phone with sd slot?
It failed midway through my first attempt. Trying it again and hopefully it works this time. Scraping worked perfectly. I also removed ._ files for imported games to save confusion. There’s an option to create M3U files for multi disc games but I didn’t feel safe attempting so I just created them manually.

Went into settings and made sure that mobile hotspot was enabled but nope. The only sign that it was connected at all was the fact that the iPhone was charging from the R36s. Just a info that I think from android 12 + this does not work because arkos uses an old kernel that is not compatible with newer android version kernel, i can confirm tha hyperos android 14 does not work, but it is ok with miui android 11
You should be on a newer version of ArkOS then the one that is shown in the video being that your doing it now. Also Pico 8 probably did not auto populate for you because you don’t have any pico 8 roms on your sd card.
Doesn’t work with a Samsung Galaxy S22. Will have to try another Android device. Says “Looks like OTA updating is currently down or your wifi or internet connection is not functioning correctly.” Tried unplugging and restarting. Got into the OK and enter menu, then it froze and gave an error. Any ideas?
⚠️ ¡¡PLEASE HELP!! ⚠️ I successfully did the update with my S20 FE because I don't have a PC!! It showed the confirmation that the update was complete the device will restart!! When it restarts it shows the R36S screen with the white background that has the picture of 3 different color consoles, but after that, the screen goes completely grey-ish!! I can still hear the music play for all the different game systems if I scroll with the D-pad, just can't see anything!! SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME!!
Ive just done everything as in the video. It took a while to download and saudvoress A to restart. My screen is now black with a couple of random white links here n there, no picture or sound. Wgat can I do to fix this or revert it back to its original status ? Thanks.
I bought a new R36S console 128 GB but the firmware version is a little old and there is no options menu available to reach WIFI and to update the console firmware. Is there any method to show this options menu?
I don't understand why I connected the cable from the mobile phone to the console.... But no device connected to the phone recognizes me, only the charging in the phone turns on and nothing else..... How do I make the phone recognize the device to be able to update??? Please help me....what am I doing wrong? Yes, I inserted it in the second entry on my right or I also tried the one on the left but nothing happens..... Please help me!!! 
Makes sense for pico, however my boot up is still standard. And shows ark 2.0. When trying to update it says none further. I updated with my s21 plus. Not sure at this point. Can i master reset and try again?
If have another android try a different phone. For some reason my note 20 would not work but z fold did. I’m not 100% sure everything between r35s and r36s are the same but if they are I would assume it would work just the same as R36S
I left mine in while updating. Should not have an issue. Only thing I would say is maybe you want to copy everything over to a higher capacity and quality sd because the card that comes with it is pretty full and does not leave much room for the box art.

Yes in hotspot settings activate usb tethering. When you plug your phone in it should atleast start charging then you should know your usb port is working.
Are you able to upload a copy of the files in your BOOT drive to gdrive or somewhere? I tried updating ArkOS manually and now I can't get it running at all
@@Cycro1234 just so you know when you plug a drive in from any of these devices most of the time Windows will ask you to format it or repair it you must always DECLINE. Also do happen to have Mini Tool Partition Wizard? It’s a free software that allows you to access partitions of the drive that window may not assign a drive letter to.

Hello Guys somebody can help me please? First: via PC i instaled Arkos it means i downloaded RUFUS and Ark os, everything works fine. Now i tried to update ark os with phone but after click to button "update" the console wants some password. I tried to click only to confirm, but it was not successful, also i tried find the password on the internet, but nothing about password anywhere. I used this version of arkos: ArkOS_RG351MP_v2.0_09292023.img Which password my console wants? 😞
Sorry you are going through this. I have not ran into it myself. Try admin as password also try password as password. I’ll try to do some research on it.

S23 Ultra - Tried this, strait USB-C to USB-C cable, get the message of "slow charging", go int hotspot area, and tethering does not detect a USB device.... Does not work for me
Some of the android devices are not working unfortunately you may need a software update as one of my phones didn't work then I updated android os on my phone and it worked. Sorry it didn't work for you.
@@alucardyork happy it worked for you my friend. I can’t speak for the integrity of peoples usb c cables. I used my oem but it makes sense that if your cable is faulty you should try another.
There are many USB-C cables that are only for fast charging and have no data lines. Please try all of your other cables if it does not work. Also, you can charge your android phone to 100%. Then change the battery settings to only charge it to 85%. This should keep your phone from wanting to pull power from your R36s long enough to update it over USB.
Also do I have to have my phone connected to WiFi or can I use my data because I don't have WiFi we just have hotspot and data and use our hotspot as the WiFi router for our house
Hey my friend, this should work but I noticed some androids are having an issue with this. I have an Older moto android that worked and yes just using your phone data works. Make sure you select usb tethering after connecting your c to c between your phone and devices otg port.
I tried Note 20 Ultra that didn’t work with it for some reason. Try a different device if you have one available. I also had Motorola that didn’t work but needed a firmware update and after updating android os to 12 or 13 usb tether worked so perhaps it’s dependent on which android version you are on.

When mine completed the update. It did not look like yours. Had a few new features but no pico 8 and mine doesn’t boot into that theme. Just Og theme.
You should be on a newer version of ArkOS then the one that is shown in the video being that your doing it now. Also Pico 8 probably did not auto populate for you because you don’t have any pico 8 roms on your sd card.

Yes my friend still works as that's the way I have my R36S setup. About loosing games you have nothing to worry about. Be like Nike "Just Do It"

Working solution, its the usb c wire. Find another wire and try again. It works and worked for me after trying another cord :)

Unfortunately I can not give you an exact size as this was a while ago brother. I can say that it fit without issue on the factory sd.

Also do I have to have my phone connected to WiFi or can I use my data because I don't have WiFi we just have hotspot and data and use our hotspot as the WiFi router for our house
Hey my friend, this should work but I noticed some androids are having an issue with this. I have an Older moto android that worked and yes just using your phone data works. Make sure you select usb tethering after connecting your c to c between your phone and devices otg port.

Try this with a Xiaomi and USB C to USB C Cable,didnt work (USB Tethering is on)......
I tried Note 20 Ultra that didn’t work with it for some reason. Try a different device if you have one available. I also had Motorola that didn’t work but needed a firmware update and after updating android os to 12 or 13 usb tether worked so perhaps it’s dependent on which android version you are on.
Can u do this with a iPhone?
I have not attempted it with my iPhone as when it comes to tinkering Android is king.

En la caja dice que la consola tiene wifi cual sería la opción Bluetooth que también dice
No hay opción de encender WiFi y no hay configuraciones que mencionen Bluetooth. He mirado muchas veces.
@@2LoudTech el wifi se utiliza con un accesorio externo y si sirve yo lo he utilizado para actualizar la consola
Cuando es wifi integrado es el sistema Android, pero este es sistema Linux por eso no viene para que solo la consola de el wifi
@@curiosidadesyalgomas7405 Otros han abierto la consola y han confirmado que ningún hardware WiFi o Bluetooth está en realidad en el dispositivo. Voy a abrir el mío en breve para poner los joysticks de Hall y voy a echar un buen vistazo dentro de la consola y publicaré mis hallazgos en el vídeo de mejora de joystick pronto. Ya tengo los joysticks que necesitan instalar hoy o mañana
@@2LoudTech por eso te digo el wifi no viene como un dispositivo interno pero si se puede utilizar el wifi con un tplink o adaptador externo lo digo porque yo lo tengo y de ahy yo he actualizado la consola, no es como el sistema Android que ya viene en su propia función de encender y apagar el wifi
