Hi thanks for the comprehensive video. We have installed it underslung like this but are noticing an issue with the Lidar active track which seems to track face lower once the subject moves around. To the point where the just chin is visible. Do you have any tips? Could it be that the lidar height setup is calibrated to work better on top since it’s tracking lower? Any fix you know of keeping it underslung? Thx!
I just got the LiDAR and did this trick. Only issue is that it’s not letting me calibrate the lens distance for 1 and 4m. It’s like the distance isn’t getting picked up on the LiDAR and not allowing me to select 1m focus to finish calibrating. Any suggestions?
I’m gonna re-rig my LiDAR like this. Totally makes better sense having it down there. I feel like having it up on the cameras hotshoe almost blocks it’s field of view if you have a matte box and or longer lens. It can’t see the ground in front. Stoked to give this a try.
@@DeafDirector so, I gout the small rig weight attachment... gave it a shot... I tend to use the smaller manfrotto plate with the built in arcaswiss reciever. Love that option because I can mount and remove my camera really quick for run and gun... the shorter manfrotto plate doesn't leave much room for balancing if you butt the LiDar sensor up agains the plate. I found that moving the smallRig counter weight mount to the end of the manfrotto plate worked but then you have this LiDar sensor sticking way out in front of your setup... took a look to see if there were any small cheese plates that I could use.... nothing small... you think there would be any interest in creating something new? We could remove the mount all together from the LiDar sensor and design something new that would benefit the underslung setup.... I'm a proficient Fusion 360 user... I'm open to suggestions. ;-)
That’s a great setup. Does it interfere with the clearance with the tilt axis when you tilt down for example ? I’m trying to make a setup with a vazen 40mm anamorphic and I’m concerned the LiDAR will prevent me from flipping into underslung mode, so your set up might be the answer 😅
I find the focus is more accurate, because it sits much closer to the actual lens opening than when I prop it on top of the camera, giving the Lidar a much closer FOV that the lens has. Have a great day!
@@canibus329 It is on there pretty tight. I took a cordless drill, put a large flat head on it, put the drill on its lowest setting and very slowly loosened it. Just be gentle with it, and don't strip your screw, but that should work for you. Have a great day!
Seems like workaround. And hefty. And expensive. There is bracket solution. Installs in front of base plate. One part, 2 additional screws. And it has constant installation distance. As disadvantage you cannot install lens support anymore
Thanks for saving my ass! Since I want to use the Lidar with the FX3 with soundbox on top, it would be way to far away from the lense. This way seems to be the only solution to this. 🙏🏼
Best solution for a bad dji bracket!!! Thank you so much!!
Love the versatility (and consistency) of this setup. Thank you.
I used your method and it is very very convenient. Thank you so much!
Great review, thanks. Nice idea ). Could you also tell what you use to connect your focus motor rail to the cage, please?

Sorry to bother you, but how do you get the screw out? I'm trying not to back it, thank you.

Impressive

It has been an absolute game changer for me. Hope it works out for you and have a great day!

@@myidentitydisorderI’m testing setups with a big anamorphic lens. I’ll post the progress and maybe will need a custom setup as you suggest.

I have personally had no issues with underslung mode with this setup. Thanks for the comment and have a great day!
Rad as always! Love seeing these kitted out rigs!
Btw there is a lil typo on the thumbnail image for this vid. 😉
Doh! Thanks for the heads up. Have a great day!
Do you have any issues with focus using this set-up? Because it is lower than my lens it only focuses on things at the bottom of the image.

Thanks for shout out brother ❤️❤️🙏🙏
My pleasure. I love your channel and want to see it get as much love as possible. Keep up the great work!

Can You make Your next video in White room - this video too dark ?
