Those garish faces on most aftermarket radios are a huge reason why I loathe most aftermarket head units. It's about as compatible with a factory interior as a big red clown nose "enhances" the face of Margot Robie or Jennifer Connelly. Great video on cleaning the head unit. There's only so much you can do for an ugly, lipstick-on-a-pig, aftermarket radio.
Yeah I'm kind of picky with aftermarket units. This came with the truck and I can play music on a usb drive, so I can't entirely complain lol. Some of the double din units look good. I'm quite happy with the unit I installed in the Tacoma, matches the interior well. I wouldn't mind to install a screen in this, but getting my hands on a factory Ram radio navigation bezel is ridiculously costly for a hunk of plastic. Blaupunkt makes a really nice looking period correct vintage unit for classic cars. Would be a perfect fit for my E23 as the factory cassette is acting up.
@@4DIYers Lesser known radio makers such as Continental and Becker do a much better job making radios with modern features without ruining older car interiors. I prefer an aftermarket radio to not LOOK aftermarket.
Check out the Blaupunkt Bremen, it's a nice unit and matches my red interior lighting. I was considering Continental too but the backlight is the wrong color so it would eventually bug me.
It's probably not going to fix scratches. A scratch is a gouge in the optically smooth surface (think of a plastic, microscopic 'canyon" dug into that otherwise smooth surface). Not a whole lot you can do with a plastic lens. Even if you could fill in the gouge, the area would be optically distorted. At least glass can be resurfaced. You're probably better off replacing your eyeglasses, or investing in a protective coating for your plastic lenses.

Being that it's your eyes, while it can be hard to see the scratches visually, it may cause eye strain. So it's probably not something I'd recommend.
