I decided to step back to making sonic cd remixes again after I've gotten a little tired of doing them. This video was actually planned to have been released about 6 months ago but I never finished the song for it. All I've really managed to do was make the background. I didn't really like the original song I had for it so I ended up making an entirely new song and I loved it! I hope you do too :)

I imagine this being a lower depth of a Giant factory Robotnik Might've built on top of metropolis (Hence why the machines are malfunctioning, yet still powered on)

Metropolis without maintenance and cleaning for 2982 years be like:
Not very poor quality
In some older factory complexes it is practice to seal off old equipment and leave it to rust as opposed to selling it when environmental contamination concerns are involved. So there is precedent for such a fate-though the machinery is powered down.
@@sonicmastersword8080 In Sonic Hysteria's description of Metropolis' present, it mentions that the city was built on top of the original from S2, so maybe the remains of this rusted deathtrap are what lies at its depths...

I love your music as always (you know how to take an existing theme and give it a completely new feel while still being recognizable), and the art you make to accompany it is truly spectacular!
I can hear Scrambled Egg Zone from Sonic 2 Master System in this theme!
The sort of head cannon I have for this is that metropolis was a giant generator that provided electricity for the wing fortress and death egg as they are being built. Oil ocean is where the fuel comes from for metropolis to burn. But in the bad future the wing fortress and death egg are complete and metropolis has fallen into extreme disrepair as it’s not longer needed, yet it’s still fueled by the nearly limitless fuel from oil ocean.

that's actually how I imagined how metropolis worked. It was robotnik's central base before completing the death egg zone but it was also the build site for the two bases like you're mentioned. I don't really think it was fueling the death egg or wing fortress though, but more like a metropolis for the badniks and even mecha sonic
@@leepicpasta2740no not for fueling them. I meant for powering the generators of metropolis we see in the background. All the pistons and such

Bad future:there was a a LOOOOOOOOOOOONNGGGG blackout in the city
So the smashers,lights,elevators,those spinning things and the gas pumps in the factory are barely working anymore
Why is the lights still functional but I don't remember if it actually flickers
And it can also be metropolis without maintenance and cleaning for 2397 years
The smasher in the middle of background isn't moving
this one feels really bleak, like a place that was already at rock bottom got even worse

@@game_projectionsfun fact: wood zone was in present at concept arts, just like metropolis. And sonic 2 never had good/bad future. Sonic 2 had "future". And cyber city was in "future"

Bf : Eggman did it, Death Egg is now hiding the sun above the planet, making a permanent winter in the factory, eventually, control room of the factory completely froze and the factory went crazy, giving her todays appearance, sonic must go back in the past, because everything can collapse everytime

Try using the free online daw thing called signal. you can use soundfonts in it. I recommend a Korg m1 soundfont for Sonic cd styled stuff, as the Korg m1 was the synth used for it.
Bad future eggman made a bigger ship than wing fortruis but he still wanted to keep the ship so he scrapped the jet and rebuilt the engine on top of metropolis and sometimes the energy reroutes back from the once forclaimed ship down to the abandoned lair
Robotnik didnt made the right mantainance and his place needs fixes

No. Wood zone and metropolis were never related and they only seemed to be because in the early builds they shared memory meaning they used each other’s themes.
I love the detail of the pistons quivering in the background cause this place is malfunctioning. Also, this music has a demonic feel to it, but not a bad one 😈.
This is one of the two my most favourite fan-made Bad Future remixes ever. It sounds just like any other BF soundtrack should - ominous. hopeless. scary.
