Corrections is like serving in the military. At times I was irritated and hated it, but it gets in your blood and becomes part of your life. I worked with great staff (a few knuckleheads too), and often had fun. I made good money and saved enough for a downpayment for a house. I learned valuable skills which helped me throughout life. My jail didn't have an officers or inmate mess hall. Officers didn't even have an office or a desk. We ate from a heated-food cart in the multipurpose room. We would sit and eat next to the same inmates and communicate with them for years. Not all of them were nuts. Some (maybe a few) were educated and intelligent. I associated with a billionaire banker. He was an older man who nobody bothered with. He was a gentleman embezzler with a wealth of information. There were attorneys, ex-cops, and other influential people I talked with for hundreds of hours. Although my job could've been run better, I do recommend this career to others. And you don't have to be big, strong, or tough. The average man or woman can do it. Your conduct and behavior are more important than how strong you are.
We worked near NYC Wall Street. That's crazy-crowded in the daytime but dead at night. About 12 of us would chip in $20 each and slip it to a bartender when we got off work at midnight. Then we would drink all night long without paying anything extra. Good times for sure. And the female officers were sometimes more aggressive than the men. Two guys were fighting each other over the pool table. One pulled out a knife. A female CO pounded him down with a pool stick. He looked up, she pounded him again.
good gems right here! & yeah, you never know who you’ll run into thats doing time at your joint. saw R Kelly, Bernie Madoff, some of the bosses of the NY families. I wouldn’t be surprised if P Diddy ends up at my joint at some point

Bro, im 31, and I've been with the Feds since I was 21, and I did a year in a half with a state prison. I'm maxed out 8, and I work 4-5 over times a paycheck. I also travel abroad 3-4 times a year. I also haven't made under 110k a year in the past 5 years. It was the easiest money I ever made. It started off work because I started at an active pen, and now I'm at a low.
I joined the bureau at 28, I'm 31 now. Best decision I've made in my life. On track for the first time of my life to make over six figures by the end of the year. No college and barley passed high school lol Wish I joined sooner.

You sure ain't lying, you definitely can make a lot of money. Before Lorton correctional facility closed down, my boy's used to make 6 figures every year
Thanks to you and your encouragement made me a 42 year old soon to be correctional officer. I start the Police Academy Next month with a salary of $67,900K per year with a yearly raise of $1.15 and then by my 10th year I will jump up to a $10.00 increase. I am working on my criminal justice degree so I can be promoted in the future which pays in the ranges from $110K to $145K per year. The interview process took me over 8 months and I want to thank you for your advice and dedication on your channel educating us. People do no know that as correctional officers we have the option to go into patrol as well, I already know several corrections officers who have moved on to Patrol after 5yrs of service in corrections. It's a large world of opportunities in law enforcement and tons of money to be made. If not for you i would be stuck behind a desk making 20 bucks an hour living a miserable life. Thank you to the Ghetto Body Builder! THANK YOU!
Good stuff. I'm 42 and I am truck driver of 7years and I'm switching fields to c.o. .. every time I think about being somewhat discouraged this guys videos always put me back in the right mind frame. Currently turning in all of my info for background investigation
That is awesome, this is good stuff that he puts out, got 2 years till retirement, and these jobs make it easy to buy a house if your credit is straight, i have sold 2 homes and made enough where i have never had a house payment with the profit on the homes, put money into 10 acres and built a house and the house already has after 4 years 450000$ in equity. SO if you dont own, follow his advice and save and put down for a house, get that tax break, and take advantage of the 401k investment from work and get that tax break each year, my 403b is giving me an additional 1500$ to my pension. Good luck.
To each is his own a few dudes from the projects I grew up in got into DOC I had the same plug to get in but me personally the way I’m wired I can’t sit around locked in a building all day in doing crazy overtime which would turn the prison into my second home, salute to the guys who are mentally strong that chose this path. I’m gearing up for the police academy now easy money in my yuppie city lol
Not all of us is dirty, crooked or is beating on inmates. There’s bad ppl in every single profession. Most of us just wanna do our 8 hours and go home and enjoy the rest of our day. People talk crap about how inmates are treated but never stepped a foot in a prison and see how it really is.
they got teachers in the prisons too at the BOP that teach GED to the inmates. you can look into, they top out about 70k in salary, but you can work OT if you want & still have weekends holidays off if you get that position. 1 dude is in education dept, he works alot of OT
There are so many good jobs when you factor in medical, vision, dental, holidays, vacation days and unlimited overtime. Im not a correctional officer but I do work for the city and being civil service has provided my family and I, A very comfortable life. Federal, state and city jobs are hidden gems. When I look at my check and see 72 hours overtime bi weekly, its crazy to think the legal money thats out their.
big facts. You aint gotta sell dope or do crime to have money. fast money don’t last forever, slow money is for sure money! keep going on your journey 💼🫡
Everything you are saying is true. I’m 7 years in. My pockets stayed right during Corona. Recession proof. I do it because it is no other job like it. CO’s are built different
He got me literally wanting to change careers 🤣🤣 I hesitate because I have small children and as a woman I’d only want to work for a women’s prison. We just so happen to have one in my city. I’m thinking about it bc that money is RIGHT! I’m corporate and it’d take me years to get to that.
i say go for it. its shift work so the schedule might not be flexible if you gotta factor in child care & getting the littles to & from daycare, but if you can swing it, its definitely worth it in the long run!
These haters are hating because they lazy ass don’t wanna get up and make that bread. Instead they living in their parents basement being a keyboard warrior. I just got my BA and going for my masters in Justice Administration. After a few years working as a CO, hopefully I can make my way into administration or a higher position, making that bread. Keep doing you, keep letting people know on the corrections secret and keep pushing others on making that bread, whether thats corrections or not. ☝🏽💪🏽💸
It is hard out here! I work 13 hours a day and barely make enough to eat , Im waiting for my security clearance . HR moved it to their superiors for approval as far as my juvenile record , give your boy a chance !
Subscribed bro I'm glad your video popped up in my recommended, feel like God is telling me something. Struggling out here like crazy but love fitness like you, could definitely see a career as a CO. Do you find these jobs on Indeed? Appreciate any advice..
i work alongside women that are 5’2 130lbs working in men’s prisons as c/o’s. not so much about being jacked & tough but communication, de-escalation, & conflict resolution skills
thats base salary. you gotta factor in the OT pay, shift differential, holiday & weekend pay. i know c/o’s in Jersey, they making $100-200k probably more, milking it
Bro is not joking around you can make more than a nurse and Doctor if you want if you want to chill then you can do that right now I make 90k without OVERTIME
Where are you from? I was a CO in the county jail in MD and DC juveniles. I left the field over 1 year ago. I would never shyt off this career because yes I made pretty good money and it set me up in life with a house and car. I left because the work life balance. Being in that environment takes a toll on your mental. The general public does not see the things we see. Inmates dying, fights, stabbings, verbal abuse, physical abuse for some, even urine thrown on you. I transitioned to corporate america and working for a fortune 500 company.
im from Ohio. i learned early in my career, to leave work there when i hit the sallyport, i never let that shit stress me out. shit happens, you know how we address it and move forward
Is 30 too late to be a correctional officer ? I’ve been on and off about it for a while but always skeptical but really thinking about taking the jump. I really need a career.
I don't really enjoy it but it pays my bills as I make decent income so I am grateful for that. I don't like the work culture, the environment and how just plain annoying it is haha I do direct supervision so being stuck in a pod for 12 hours gets exhausting.
Hey brother I am thinking of becoming a correctional officer but I suck at math. Do you have to be good at math to become a correctional officer Thank you for your service
I applied for a co in Franklin County, ohio after watching you videos. The position is Deputy sheriff/ deputy co. What does that title mean? Is it some kinda rank or what? And since you from ohio, what do you have to say about being a co at the Franklin county?
probably means, you will work inside the jail & on the road as a deputy dual roles. call the HR to be certain. And i’d take the job, i left ohio after high school for college, and didn’t return. but i would take it, i worked a county jail before, i prefer prison but its good training ground for c/o’s
It’s the closest one to where I live. About an hour drive time though. I used to live in Columbus. I live in Steubenville OH now. Right on the eastern edge and border of WV. About an hour from Pittsburgh as well.
FEDERAL ONLY . No CO is making this working in the state or county. Yes get certified the first 3-6 months then slide before you even take the exam to federal. That’s it that’s all. Been doing this for 7 years
What state do you live in for this nonsense? Definitely not hustling backwards King, I wake up and make 150k as a Network Engineer without the danger of anything honestly. Actually tryna get a government contract working on the Network infrastructure at prisons and such. My brother is a detective, actually my whole family is in this but I’m talking about on a 40 hour basis, not 50 hours of overtime and people banging in so you gotta stay. No captain or higher up in my jaw line. None of that over here but being on call incase the WiFi shut off. It’s usually not the inmates, it’s staff. But again keep grinding, you found your niche. I’m still certified I just see less work, more freedom. Better work life balance and other things. Like I said me getting into security then security management. I’m trying to either be a Security Director or some higher that you don’t see on your day to day. Knowledge is power but thanks for at least uplifting people to get a damn job 🤣
its all what you make of it. i dont take work home with me. i live a good life, got the weekends off, go out to eat all the time, take trips out the country throughout the year… don’t let no job stress you out! 🫡💯
yezzir, my eyes light up when my direct deposit hit & i see all that $ from that OT. time to divvy the bag 💰 up & be smart with the cash not blow it on dumb shit

I tell a hater when they find out I work @ a juvenile lock up, there face 😳😵💫. That’s different. Keep doing you big dog. Keep the videos coming, I’m taking in all your sauce.

Bout to physicals test 11/20 cause your video made me wanna go do this more

You sure ain't lying, you definitely can make a lot of money. Before Lorton correctional facility closed down, my boy's used to make 6 figures every year
Agree!
Currently turning in all of my info for background investigation
much love to you! Keep it up with what you’re doing! You’re on your way, the sky’s the limit 🚀🫡❤️👏🏼
Good luck.
This is 2024 not 1989. But if this a jump in your life. Go for it but waiting 10 years to get 100k is wild slavery
@@10digitthetrucker77you about to decrease in pay for what? Only Feds make this pay. Definitely not doing this at the state
Bra all these are facts!!!!! All the OGs 5-15yrs in the BOP…they big chilling!
milking it fr fr 🧩💰💯
To each is his own a few dudes from the projects I grew up in got into DOC I had the same plug to get in but me personally the way I’m wired I can’t sit around locked in a building all day in doing crazy overtime which would turn the prison into my second home, salute to the guys who are mentally strong that chose this path. I’m gearing up for the police academy now easy money in my yuppie city lol
good luck
Let me know how the process goes
Not all of us is dirty, crooked or is beating on inmates. There’s bad ppl in every single profession. Most of us just wanna do our 8 hours and go home and enjoy the rest of our day. People talk crap about how inmates are treated but never stepped a foot in a prison and see how it really is.
outside looking in. if they think they can do a better job, apply and come show us how its done
Agree!
I’ve been thinking about getting into this career! I just need to stop smoking is the one thing
facts
Congrats.. you got this!
I am 34 teacher getting only 50k a year. I am going to take my test tonight! Ready for change need to get physically ready as well!
they got teachers in the prisons too at the BOP that teach GED to the inmates. you can look into, they top out about 70k in salary, but you can work OT if you want & still have weekends holidays off if you get that position. 1 dude is in education dept, he works alot of OT
How was your test did you past ?
Congratulations
@@TOMBSTONEWHISPERZ did you past the test
CO’s are built different
we gone keep pushing this agenda!
I'm looking into the difference jails around my area, definitely looking to make a career out of this
man they got all kind of opportunities available. take advantage
Congrats!
I’m at the academy right now. First was OC and CRDT. This whole week right now is firearms. I got 7 more weeks.
keep going! fun times, handle your business and enjoy yourself
You got this ..Congrats!
Yo bro. Don’t worry about these haters. Your mom must be proud of you. Keep doing you and make your mom happy.

Agree!
Retired correction officer of 29 years from NYC$$$
Walking the tier's.. it's for the mentally strong some
Can't understand leave the haters alone.
Bro a real 1. 💯
for sure! appreciate you 🫡💯
He got me literally wanting to change careers 🤣🤣 I hesitate because I have small children and as a woman I’d only want to work for a women’s prison.
Congrats! You got this!
Crazy thing is Trump passing that no tax on overtime, so that take home income going to be crazy next year
These haters are hating because they lazy ass don’t wanna get up and make that bread. ☝🏽💪🏽💸
you know how they do. tryna motivate em & show a better way. Keep doing ya thing! 💼🫡💯
It is hard out here! I work 13 hours a day and barely make enough to eat , Im waiting for my security clearance . HR moved it to their superiors for approval as far as my juvenile record , give your boy a chance !
all you need is a chance! 🤞🏽💯
Made 9K my first 2 months at the County racking up O.T and I'm still a rookie
you crushing the game. Keep running it up on em, who gone stop you???? 💰🏃🏽♂️🤑🫡💯
Thanks for sharing this
Keep up the grind
most definitely 🔒
Subscribed bro I'm glad your video popped up in my recommended, feel like God is telling me something. Struggling out here like crazy but love fitness like you, could definitely see a career as a CO. Do you find these jobs on Indeed? Appreciate any advice..
I just entered phase 2. My interview date is Nov 14th. My physical assessment is Nov 12th.
lets keep gettin to it
Congrats! You got this!
Can you work overtime when you get hired or you have to wait until you graduate from the academy
Definitely overtime is there, even when you don’t want overtime.
Just received my academy date for TDCJ. Inmate transport correctional officer.
you on your way!
Congrats!
Brother I’m 5’7 Hispanic From Texas. I’m pretty jacked you think a smaller man can do the job?
i work alongside women that are 5’2 130lbs working in men’s prisons as c/o’s. not so much about being jacked & tough but communication, de-escalation, & conflict resolution skills
I'm off COT status on veterans day!!
I want to join …. Is it scary?? Great video, thanks for sharing information.
Not scary, just be you and stand your ground with verbal game and your good!
Keep this youtube thing going, watched a UA-camr stop his Police job because he was making more in youtube.
YOUR MAKING GOOD MONEY,WATCH OUT FOR THOSE DAMN GOLD DIGGERS BRO!
for sure!
Real talk, Agree!
What prison did you work at in West Virginia
Correction officer for the state in NJ pay 80k after 3 years lmfao.
thats base salary. you gotta factor in the OT pay, shift differential, holiday & weekend pay. i know c/o’s in Jersey, they making $100-200k probably more, milking it
@ facts bro. I’m 26, and I’m highly considering doing it
go for it! its been good to me. good far outweighs the bad just speaking from my experience
Bro is not joking around you can make more than a nurse and Doctor if you want if you want to chill then you can do that right now I make 90k without OVERTIME
best kept secret, missing piece to the puzzle 🧩🫡💯
Where you work?
I really need a career.
nah honestly thats a great age to start. drop that application in asap, lets get the ball rolling
You should do a corrections office course for $67 or something and it has videos and a checklist etc.
man thats a good idea! i might try to write up a ebook. good looking out! 🫡
I don't really enjoy it but it pays my bills as I make decent income so I am grateful for that. I don't like the work culture, the environment and how just plain annoying it is haha I do direct supervision so being stuck in a pod for 12 hours gets exhausting.
i feel you, i sit 16 hours in the units most days, gravy train most the time
Do you have smaller colleagues, and how do they handle the job - maybe do a video on that? 5' 10" / 170 lbs
its females 5’2 130lbs working as c/o’s right next to me. some got more time in than me
I want to apply but man Idk kind of scared about it but I’m interested.
lol man come on. you got females that 5’3 130lbs thats c/o’s
God doesnt give us a spirit of fear but of power, love, and a sound mind. 2 Timothy 1:7
Go for it! It is not that bad! You got this!
The County I work at makes more than the sheriff dept being a C.O is a good job people sleeping on it
we tryna put em onto the game! the ones that’s taking it and applying it gonna be up in the long run!
Woot! I have my exam in 2 days.
lets get it! its your time to shine ✨
I’m looking online and it says around 60-70k for this, does it get higher the longer you work or how do you get to the six figure pay?
thats the base salary, OT, holiday pay, weekend pay, & shift differential pay is what boosts my pay over 6 figures
The six figures comes from working 16 hours everyday
Yes you get raises and you get overtime!
How many hours you averaging a pay period?
Hey brother I am thinking of becoming a correctional officer but I suck at math. Do you have to be good at math to become a correctional officer
Thank you for your service
not at all. good luck to you
@ much love brother thx for the reply 💪🙏
I applied for a co in Franklin County, ohio after watching you videos. The position is Deputy sheriff/ deputy co. What does that title mean? Is it some kinda rank or what? And since you from ohio, what do you have to say about being a co at the Franklin county?
probably means, you will work inside the jail & on the road as a deputy dual roles. call the HR to be certain. And i’d take the job, i left ohio after high school for college, and didn’t return. but i would take it, i worked a county jail before, i prefer prison but its good training ground for c/o’s
@ okay , I did give HR a call. Hope I get to do OT at the jail as well 😂.
💯 always
as far as the bank account say different ..🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
🫡💯💪🏽
How much do you make per hour? Those checks looking nice
forgot, many c/o’s make over 6 figures every year
@TheGhettoBodybuilder you forgot how much you make per hour?
@ idk the breakdown, just salary
All facts
Call it what you want...my bank account hit different...
You know anything about correctional officers out in Belmont County OH?
nah not really. you tryna get on out there?
It’s the closest one to where I live. About an hour drive time though. I used to live in Columbus. I live in Steubenville OH now. Right on the eastern edge and border of WV. About an hour from Pittsburgh as well.
Can u be a correction officer if u have an expungement on your record
call up to the facility & speak to HR or the recruiter. the policy is different for every agency. might be good if it was expunged from your record
How can you progress in Corrections?
can promote up or stay a officer like me
@ is it hard to get promoted you’ve been doing it 13 years?
Last question. Would you work at a state prison? Are they as good as the federal ones in your opinion?
i would if you need the year of experience requirement to get on with the feds. what state are you in? some states pay more than the feds
Indiana and thanks for responding!!
How much would a new co in Connecticut make?
More than enough
So where are u located to make this type of salary as a correctional officer because I’m located in dc
most states are pulling this in or close to it. and idk if DC has jails or prisons up there. Check into Maryland or Virginia facilities
FEDERAL ONLY . No CO is making this working in the state or county. Yes get certified the first 3-6 months then slide before you even take the exam to federal. That’s it that’s all. Been doing this for 7 years
you hustlin backwards then cuz the c/o’s in the state im in make 6 figures too, i know some
What state do you live in for this nonsense?
That’s not true. Its Sgt. Making over 100k in tn corrections. Speak on what u actually know…
Only Haters care about what you do and not how what you do gives you a great lifestyle.
for sure bro! might make it look easy but they dont see all the grind, preperation, & sacrifice behind the scenes
Is there a age limit?
Cali Corrections is 21 years of age.
What age is probably too old to be a CO?
My question as well!
Its up to you, I seen some start in their50's
🔥🔥🔥
How tall are you and whats ya weight. How often are you in the gym?
5’8 227 5-6 days
@TheGhettoBodybuilder appreciate it brother. Keep doing ya thang. I 5'8 180. Going through the background check now. Appreciate ya videos
@MikeRobNxtBestArtist fasho, appreciate you tuning in 💯
I think I’m a take my chance, 2025
Go for it!!
THE JOB OFFERS GOOD PAY, AND A DECENT RETIREMENT,BUT YOU HAVE TO BE THE TYPE OF PERSON WHO DOESN'T MIND BEING IN A DEPRESSING ATMOSPHERE.
its all what you make of it. i dont take work home with me. i live a good life, got the weekends off, go out to eat all the time, take trips out the country throughout the year… don’t let no job stress you out! 🫡💯
Direct Deposits are very addictive 💰💰💰Motivate….
yezzir, my eyes light up when my direct deposit hit & i see all that $ from that OT. time to divvy the bag 💰 up & be smart with the cash not blow it on dumb shit
Is the academy paid training? Because I heard it's like 8 weeks...so if I'm doing academy how am I gonna get paid not working?
you get paid while you there
Can you be a CO with locs?

Are you county city or state, fed ,private corrections
fed
