    One exception is wet spin. the Ping Glide 3.0 with the Pearl chrome 2.0 finish is the KING of wet spin. Barely loses 1,000 rpm compared to dry conditions
    Look at TXG’s UA-cam wet wedge test. Most of the time playing in damp or dew conditions this makes a major difference. That’s the deciding factor for me.

    • @banditbaker1675
      @banditbaker1675 3 роки тому +1

      Totally agree Stephen, Spin retention in wet/damp condition has to be a major consideration.
      A Wedge that Spins at 10k rpm when tested indoors is no good if the Spin drops down to 5k rpm if the Grass in damp! Which in the UK is basically all the time!

    I use the Callaway MD4 54-14. it works well on chips and short pitches around the green as well as longer pitches. I like the way I can make the chips take one skip and then bite if I want to or hit it to run. My lob wedge is a Maltby with a very wide sole for both sand shots around the green and high pitches when I have short-sided myself. The sole is wide enough that I can hit the pitches like a sand shot ane slam the club under the ball with a thud. The ball pops straight up and stops quickly. It isn't the usual technique, but I find it to be easier than what is considered the usual methiod.

    If you don’t use the same bounce / sole shape, it’s almost meaningless to compare spin rates across wedges. All win spin similarly if strike is consistent. If getting massively more spin from one of them, probably a different grind/bounce resulting in a lower strike location on average

    If you hold a number of clubs in one hand like a bunch of flowers, the shafts rub together and scratch the chrome finish, which leads to rust spots on the shafts. I learned this the hard way after repeatedly carrying my putter and a wedge to the green. After a time, the shafts of both had multiple rust spots, ruining the looks and the trade in value.

  • @alysgolfstudio567

    I tried many clubs that are available in left hand - mizuno is not. Also because of the variety of bounce etc I ended up with the sm7 in different grinds and lofts for example the 58/04 which other makes don’t make such a low bounce. It is my best club in the bag.

    Great information Joel! Thank you for sharing.

  • @LaugherOne
    @LaugherOne 3 роки тому +2

    Look, the reason Cleveland was praised by pros in the first place is that Cleveland was the only clubmaker who offered a huge variety of lofts and bounce combinations. Other clubmakers couldn't profit selling 53* SW with 14* bounce, or 64* LW with 8* bounce. Not enough demand, but Cleveland did, probably at a loss. The only real difference is the hunk of metal called a wedge is the type of metal and the groove technology. Softer metal feels great, wears out fast. The grooves are pretty much limited by the rules, and manufacturers have taken it as far as legal. So it's basically a matter of personal preference, because they're all pretty much the same.

CBX2 was more consistent, closer to the pin on average, and more control. I do wish there were more options for grind combo’s but its really is that much better. I found the ping glides were excellent as well. Cavity back will help 95% of players. BTW great camera angles - suggest standing more still while talking. Look forward to future videos.
