Huh, I didn't expect Sara's original voice to be so high pitched, considering how mature she looks. I only watched it in EU PT, and the few eps. I watched in Japanese Sara wasn't featured =/ God, Koudou was my fave song from this anime, and whoever was the genius that decided to add harmonies in EU PT should be smacked in the head. I think one of the singers that is bothering you is probably Karen's singing. Her voice sounds old, and overall terrible (her original voice. Just look up Karen's song in Spanish and you'll see what I mean. The original was so bad that when there were re-runs on Disney Channel Spain, Karen got a new singing voice which is a lot better)
Why does Castillian Spannish voice actors sound like old ladies to me?? .w." Their dubbing is okay, but songs are pain.. x~x btw Nice work gathering those versions in one video with such good quality~
It might also have to do with the accent. Castilian accents are pretty weird to me (being so used Mexican accents, among other Latino accents). But yeah, whoever sung for Karen was terrible and probably brought down the whole song in that version.
God I wish there was a way to get directly in touch with whoever is in charge of the music and ask them for the real karaoke versions of these songs. All I ever find is either ones that sound like they were ripped from the GBA games or had the vocals removed and it took out instruments at the same time.
Unfortunately the official CD releases didn't have instrumental tracks, which I find unusual since Japanese CDs usually give instrumentals for the OPs & EDs at the very least. It's especially weird since the selling point for this show was supposed to be the music.
I've recently moved to Oklahoma, so I can't afford it. The convention that I'll be attending yearly now will be Tokyo in Tulsa. I might find others when I get more familiar with the area.

Well, ADV (the dub company behind the US release of 'Azumanga Daioh') was gonna dub it into English, but they lost the license to do so after they had released the trailer for it.
ShredderzGirl Actually there are 2 English dubs (Btw, ADV dubbed all of the episodes but they were never released to the public but other countries have dubbed off it.). The ADV dub and an English dub from Malaysia. I've tried to track down the 2nd one but the only clues I've gotten were 2 VAs that were in it.
***** There were no changes or cuts to the English dub and the original music was kept. In ADVs case, it was pretty complicated. The reason why their English dub was never shown was because no TV station wanted to air an anime targeted towards girls. Then the company went out of business due to the economy. All I know is that the original Japanese creators have the English dub but all they've done with it was give it to other countries to dub off of (the Spanish dub even used the English version of the opening when they had commercials on TV XD). Also, losing rights does not necessarily mean that it was because the show was hacked up. Sometimes companies just let the rights expire because certain shows don't sell well. In 4Kids' case with Mew Mew, it was mostly because the show wasn't making them any profit and they thought the rest wasn't worth dubbing.
The only big flaw I find on the Portuguese dub of this song is the dumb higher harmony, it wasn't really necessary, didn't fit the song and was way too loud aganist the melody... Still one of my favorite songs!

That's because an actor of the Spanish version was an ugly singer, but she was replaced.
It might also have to do with the accent. Castilian accents are pretty weird to me (being so used Mexican accents, among other Latino accents). But yeah, whoever sung for Karen was terrible and probably brought down the whole song in that version.

God I wish there was a way to get directly in touch with whoever is in charge of the music and ask them for the real karaoke versions of these songs. All I ever find is either ones that sound like they were ripped from the GBA games or had the vocals removed and it took out instruments at the same time.
Unfortunately the official CD releases didn't have instrumental tracks, which I find unusual since Japanese CDs usually give instrumentals for the OPs & EDs at the very least. It's especially weird since the selling point for this show was supposed to be the music.

Well, ADV (the dub company behind the US release of 'Azumanga Daioh') was gonna dub it into English, but they lost the license to do so after they had released the trailer for it.

Actually there are 2 English dubs (Btw, ADV dubbed all of the episodes but they were never released to the public but other countries have dubbed off it.). The ADV dub and an English dub from Malaysia. I've tried to track down the 2nd one but the only clues I've gotten were 2 VAs that were in it.

There were no changes or cuts to the English dub and the original music was kept. In ADVs case, it was pretty complicated. The reason why their English dub was never shown was because no TV station wanted to air an anime targeted towards girls. Then the company went out of business due to the economy. All I know is that the original Japanese creators have the English dub but all they've done with it was give it to other countries to dub off of (the Spanish dub even used the English version of the opening when they had commercials on TV XD).
Also, losing rights does not necessarily mean that it was because the show was hacked up. Sometimes companies just let the rights expire because certain shows don't sell well. In 4Kids' case with Mew Mew, it was mostly because the show wasn't making them any profit and they thought the rest wasn't worth dubbing.
The only big flaw I find on the Portuguese dub of this song is the dumb higher harmony, it wasn't really necessary, didn't fit the song and was way too loud aganist the melody... Still one of my favorite songs!
