One thing I have noticed over the years here in Europe from all the divorces I have heard about is that the "guilty" one is the wife. When you look deeper into the story its always a wordly man with more resources and time.
Yes, cheating is bad but how do you suppose a marriage would work with a low income man combined with all the "extra work" he does for free?!

Puzzling that an older man is giving tips on how young women should choose a life partner. And they say it's not a cult! Plus, it sounds like the young women want their partner to be perfect! Good luck with that! And not one word about whether he can support you with a good job!

They do expect perfection and weaponize the religion against the husband/wife if you are deemed "spiritually weak.". I was there with my ex wife and there was nothing I could do to make her happy as it is never enough. This religion will destroy a marriage and if the marriage somehow works out there is guaranteed abuses going on or just extreme repression as you are forced to shut up and listen.

I was in from 5 years old to 19. I did auxiliary and later regular pioneer around 14 years old, so I got used a lot as a "chaperone" for many of the brothers' and sisters' dating. It usually meant going bowling or to the movies. I remember being kindly given a couple of bucks from the brothers to go get them snacks or hit the arcade so they can be alone and make out. One of the biggest reasons for why I'm out of the organization and NEVER going back again EVER. I remember when they used to give talks about this at assembles or even at the kingdom hall, it would always infuriate me and make my blood boil. There were even times I'd get so angry that I would need to leave the meeting or the assembly. This is one of the biggest reasons for why I left and NEVER started dating until after I left this religious cult. And I'm glad I did these JW or GB idiots know absolutely nothing about dating and relationships. Excellent videos Lloyd keep them coming.

As a single male, I remember one of the last meetings I went to. They were having a WT study on marriage and picking the wrong person and the whole “being influenced out of the truth“ BS. It was around the time when I was first starting to wake up. Was droning on about Solomon being misled by his women. Like you, my blood was boiling. I should’ve just walked out. When it was over, I stood up, turned to this “elder“ that I knew right behind me. I made a comment like “that is such a ridiculous comparison, Solomon having 1000 women and this example being directed to single people, living alone. Hanging out with a thousand people could influence anyone with anything!“He was like well it’s the “principal“. I said “No, it’s just over the top, extreme and ridiculous advice”.

That's all it ever is. Extreme and ridiculous advice. That you're expected to follow as a JW. And the best part is, when you don't, then you're the one that has a problem, you're the one that won't be patient and wait on jehovah, you're the one that needs to be counseled by the elders.. I'm also a single man, and I'm so happy 😊 to be done with this religious cult.

Years back had known this one middle-age guy who was a carpenter. He was building sheds, married, and an “elder“. I moved away from that area and finally woke up. Had a sibling that stayed living in that area and who finally became PIMO. Some years had passed and my sibling was telling me that this carpenter guy, had at one point finally bought a car “new”. It was some small import car, but he was all proud that it was his first “new” car. Told my sibling it would last him until Armageddon. A few years later, the thing was going to the junkyard. A few years later after that, the old guy died. Neither the “new” car nor he made it to “Armageddon”. What a waste.

I had gotten married at 21 to a “Pioneer“. Soon afterwards, I started having terrible, doubts and anxiety. Eventually broke up and got divorced. That caused a ton of terrible guilt and anxiety for years. After I finally woke up, it all fell into place and made sense. I finally understood what had been the problem all along. The thing that bothered me from the very beginning, the outset, right after getting married was total Cognitive dissonance. The anxiety had been exacerbated by certain relatives guilting/shunning me. I finally realized that my subconscious had known, that I had married a corporation, a cult. I just didn’t know or understand what it was all that time until I woke up. And even thereafter, it took some time to piece it all together. I’m finally completely free of all of it.
I might mention that, although I don’t agree with Lloyd on everything, his channel was one of the first I came across in waking up. And it indeed helped me tremendously. I think I thanked him before, but if not, thanks Lloyd!

Being a Jehovah's Witness "in fine standing" is absolutely NOT a good indication of character, however the points about examining character and who he shows respect to - is good advice, so it's not all bad.

In my experience, the " advice" being given here to "sisters" about snaring a "brother" for prospective marriage is rarely adhered to. Many young bros & sis often do their own thing behind the scenes and dont give a toss what "spiritual standing and goals" the prospective partner has or doesnt have. They are happy that someone actually takes an interest in them and not constantly getting reminded that the only worthwhile occupation is to be a full time preacher and all other careers are a "waste of time"
I have also seen situations where couples have got married after going thru a contrived courtship etc (some ridiculous) only to later disband the marriage. I feel sorry for children brought up this way but many later do break the shackles.

Nothing has changed in this religious cult.Women are told and have been told for years a good marriage mate is only a man who puts in lots of hours in meetings and service.( Its all about the numbers) Also If he doesnt have a position in the congregation dump him.

As a faded JW myself , I find the off hand flippant reference to the brother (now) that he might have "a beard" to be utterly hypocritical in the extreme after the many, many years of shaming and back stabbing of ANY brother who was not clean shaven. The innuendos and snide implications that abounded in the background in regards to this matter of beards was palpable. Brothers were made to feel like pariahs if they chose to have stubble let alone a full beard. All because of some non scriptural opinion that prominent ones in the leadership had back in the 40's. And now all of a sudden, it seems Jehovah whispered in the ears of the GB that beards are actually OK and everyone now does an "about face" as if nothing to see here!!! Much like the 1914 Generation teaching it seems.

Don’t worry about all all that malarkey it’s totally nuts imagine having to get a written reference from the congregation you will end up having to get a tick list for virtually every aspect of your life because that’s what it amounts to. Picture the scenario a group of unmarried sisters are having a good old chin wag about certain brothers eligibility some sisters will totally ignore that and figure out for them selves by going out on dates. The other side of the coin brothers remember a sister must be tick all the boxes as well

I have to say that from a JW perspective the advice seems quite reasonable. It seems to me that you should assess the spirituality of any potential mate what ever the religion (or non religion). I'm a Buddhist and I probably wouldn't date an evangelical. It would never work.

JW dating advice badly messed me up. It makes it sound like you have to creep around finding out from other people about a person before you even know if you like them or if they like you; and even then you can't just ask them out you are supposed to spend time with them with others, so you end up organising "get togethers" so you have plausible deniability,, or asking them to go preaching together as a first date. So stupid. So indirect, and so ends up making you look pathetic.
