Ok, so here is a question: . Is it a cult or is what the bible said would happen, really happening? . Consider this: . I tell Jehovah's Witnesses to go through the narrow gate that is on the cramped road leading to life. . Matthew 7:13-14 “Go in through the narrow gate; because broad and spacious is the road leading off into destruction, and many are the ones going in through it; 14 whereas narrow is the gate and cramped the road ** LEADING OFF INTO LIFE ** and few are the ones finding it. . I ask them to read what Jehovah said would happen at the time of the end that is in every Christians bible and yet, few are the ones finding it: . Isaiah 66:5 Hear the word of Jehovah, YOU men who are trembling at his word: “YOUR brothers that are hating YOU, that are excluding YOU by reason of my name, said, ‘May Jehovah be glorified!’ He must also appear with rejoicing on YOUR part, and they are the ones that will be put to shame.” . [Name of person] is no longer one of JEHOVAH's Witnesses ---->> "excluding YOU by reason of MY NAME" . I ask them if they can see Jehovah's promise to disfellowshipped Jehovah's Witnesses: . "He must also appear with rejoicing on YOUR part"! . I then warn them that, if they go through this narrow gate they will lose their family as a consequence of the Watchtower Societies shunning policies. . Then I ask them to read what Jesus Christ said about everlasting life: . Mark 10:29-30 Jesus said: “Truly I say to YOU men, No one has left house or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or fields for my sake and for the sake of the good news 30 who will not get a hundredfold now in this period of time, houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and fields, with persecutions, and in the coming system of things ** EVERLASTING LIFE ** . I then ask them if they want to live forever. . I also tell them that they can leave the organization and their congregation with dignity by telling everybody that they believe Jehovah, Jesus Christ and everything else in the bible. . Walk out with your head held high and jump for joy when you do. . What Jehovah said would happen, is now really happening! . That's Good News ................... right! . Jesus said: “Truly I say to YOU men, No one has left house or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or fields for my sake and FOR THE SAKE OF THE GOOD NEWS. .
Who appointed Jesus to be high priest forever according to Jesus prophecies? And who appointed him according to this civilization? Psalm 110:4 Jehovah has sworn an oath, and he will not change his mind: “You [Jesus] are a priest forever In the manner of Mel·chizʹe·dek!” Hebrews 5:5 So, too, the Christ did not glorify himself by becoming a high priest, but was glorified by the One who said to him: “You are my son; today I have become your father.”

I am not into religion. What blows me away is how similar it is to a lot of corporate or government jobs. Primary difference is there are no "love bombs" to draw you in to corporate/government jobs. There is indoctrination, fear, group-think, conformity enforced by fear of losing job, etc. etc. Oh sure, I see how it is different, but it is mostly the same.
@@SunriseLAW just to follow on to your comment, the twelve-step programme adopted by "addicts" via a group/cult is also adopted by corporate firms to "indoctrinate" their emplpyees. There is a load of positives but the people who are in control have their own agenda that is not shared. I know exactly what you mean.
@@SunriseLAWI'm religious, and know people who are in beliefs that you describe. I'll just say this: not all religions are like that; it's just sadly what's often represented by some.
I was coming to the comments to say that I'm actually speaking on this topic at Church this Sunday. I choose to continue practicing my religion with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints because I see how it adds value to my life, and explains some experiences I have had that I value and that are fundamental to my personal identity. But I see a lot of imperfect humans perfectly hurting others in different congregations that I have been in. I was so happy I was asked to speak during second hour on ministering, and why it shouldn't be something shrouded in anxiety or burnout. The hardest years of my life were when we lived in Utah. To me, Utah and the surrounding areas is a perfect example of why diversity of thought matters, and why voices shouldn't be silenced. I met so many people so bitter towards the Church because they felt like their voices were drowned out. I hope you have found healing by leaving the Church, and I hope you also have ways to nourish your spiritual health, as well, that bring you healing. I'm such a fan of therapy!! And diversity of thought. It gets tiring, reminding people that it's okay to be their genuine selves and hold different opinions. It's okay to change your mind. It's okay to realize a belief you held may not be a belief that strengthened your spirit. It's okay to march to a different beat or no beat at all. I feel like people forget these things.
EX-Morman here too! I was curious to see if active Jehovah's witness members would be on here, kind of like active Mormon members are always commenting on ex Mormon members videos, trying to convince people in church is true and belittling them with judgment. Pleasantly surprised to see that this wasn't the case!
I spent 40 yrs as a JW. They prey on people that are struggling in their life. When an elder, pioneer and WT conductor lied to me then tried to put the blame on me is when I did the unthinkable, and started watching videos that witnesses call Apostate material. That’s were I found out about the pedophiles and the cover up. The more I read the more I wanted out. So I wrote a simple statement to the elders that I no longer desired to be a witness. The announcement was on July 4, 2018. Independences day. Now I had my freedom back. My husband is a JW. I filed for divorce and we are close to dissolving our marriage after 45 yrs.
@@user-pw6ei2mn7x Thank you. I’ve always been independent. My husband was born into it. He was the baby with 3 older kids to help him or do it for him. He never learned anything about life. All he ever knew were field service and meeting. I never realized just how uneducated he was until after we married. Everytime I would try to teach him something he would say I was criticizing him. In 2020 I got a service dog. He would tether my dog by the collar when we got in the car. I showed him that it always must be attached to his harness. It’s been almost 5 years and he still puts the tether on his collar. He still can’t tell the difference between a collar and a leash or a harness from a collar. All our marriage every time I try to ask him something his answer is always: I don’t know, I forgot or I don’t remember. I’m so sick of it that we don’t talk to each other anymore. Yet he won’t ever miss a meeting.
Wow! Your experience parallels mine; only my wife is still a JW and continues to absorb the "brain dead" "brainwashing" of the members. I was in 55 years as a publisher, Bethelite, minis. servant, elder for 14 years and just all round "company guy"! I'm hovering over the decision to divorce the woman, as she has become a dictatorial, self righteous, judging, insubordinate, condescending bitch that I can barely stand to live in the same house with her. Married 42 years and with me dealing with a disability; money is much tighter and my place is relatively cheap to live in; considering I have 2300 sq. ft. So moving out is a tough decision. I was removed by the personal bias and personal opinions of the 2 or 3 elders; not for any scriptural reasons. So I've written the Society with a well researched and scriptural rebuttal that would ask them to remove these quack heads from their position, because they have slandered a faithful brother and have held my family hostage by their evil shunning practices which violate clear scriptural direction. I have found durable and real peace in the arms of my heavenly Father and His son. I pray that you too will recognize that Jehovah cares for those that look to HIm every day; whether we belong to an organization claiming to worship him or not. May the peace of God that excels all thought be with you too, sister.
@@connormusic9274 Thank you for your kind words. I have had a very similar situation. My soon to be ex told me last week that I was mentally ill (thanks to watchtower) psychotic. It has a million dollar view which I hate to give up. I live off my VA compensation and social security. I’m fortunate that I never had any family to shun me like so many others. Thank you for sharing this - I have a dear friend who is a jehovah's witness. I worked up the nerve to try to share with him that he is in a cult, and I did. But, he went right into protecting the Watchtower Society. The more I have learned about this cult - the more I feel overwhelmingly sad for those who are in bondage, a mental prison - The watchtower Society really makes me angry - they are abusing people - all the while convincing them that they are the GOOD GUYS. I am a bible believing Christian - when I accepted Christ I found unconditional love, grace, true joy and FREEDOM. I so wish my friend could find the same - but he hasn't spoken to me in 3 days and knowing the way the WS works - I doubt I will ever speak with him again. I stumbled across your video this afternoon. I am an XJW. I’ve been out many many years. I was raised in the religion, so I 3as indoctrinated from birth. I physically left when I was in my 20s. I did not mentally leave until my late 30s when I began unlearning the teachings. It happens exactly as you have said.
@@sherylheidecker9025 Almost EXACT same path. In it from an early age, I stopped going in my 20s, to mentally leaving for good in my early 30s. I have never looked back. I will be disassociating completely.
That's not the metric, most cults are "easy" to leave physically. The problem is social. A better metric would be: If you leave and your family doesn't, are you allowed to remain in contact?
The BITE model was pretty significant for me: Behavior, Information, Thinking, Emotions. When a group controls things that fall under the BITE model, it's a cult.
Great video. As someone who broke free from being a Jehovah Witness, this is exactly what happens. I was raised in it from the age of 3-4 years old. I moved away from everyone and slowly reprogrammed myself. You leave ALL friends when you make that decision.
There is a reason why the first lesson after baptism in their curriculum is called “choose your friends wisely.” They get you in, and tell you to reject anyone outside of it. So evil. Glad you were able to get out! ❤❤
This is an awesome video! I started waking up in 2019? Was never disfellowshipped but still labeled an apostate. I started going to an early Bible study group at a local church and that was an experience! The first time I was going to prove the past wrong but a lot of what was said sounded like what I had been taught but I think it was because I grew up reading the Bible so I knew different stories from the Bible. When I first went into the church I was so scared like it was such an evil place and why was I even there and what was I THINKING. Then all of a sudden I had so many questions and did not know where to get answers. I have come to realize after a few years that no one has all the answers and my cousin started listening to a few Bible scholars and gradually I bought different Bible translations and started comparing things. I’m still a work in progress and I was able to keep in touch with my witness siblings for a few years because we live in different communities. However my brother in law was scheduled to give a talk in my congregation and now they don’t communicate with me anymore. My sister says we don’t have anything to talk about anymore. Kinda right because all she ever talked about was the org. I never realized what a huge box I was raised up in. Finally out at 60. I am the youngest of 5 siblings and have always been the communicator. They never called me unless I called first. I’m so sorry about this being so long. For years I have been watching exhausted videos and recently I got a book about the apostle Paul and studying the book of Acts. I also have read through the entire Bible for the first time ever. Anyway I may send this video to the pastor of the church I have been going to so he will understand more of what I have been going through.
Religious trauma is so so damaging. I have a very unique mindset and I have been able to break free because I have lost everything and everyone I have known more than once and when you learn that you can survive without a abusing control structure and you deserve better you will not accept anything else but what you deserve. I've always had empathy in my heart and I saw that they dont
One thing that's super important, stop using their terms and words they can control you with those terms like worldiy or the truth. Stop it immediately
You are a very thoughtful and intelligent woman. I'm an ex JW who left the organization 32 years ago and I remember going through the process of trying to find my identity in those early years. Those days as a JW were very dark but I have lived a very fulfilling life since leaving.
I think the scary truth is they try to make you think when you're first learning that you are questioning things, when in reality it's all leading questions to bring you to the answer that they want you to get.
🎯 Right on. They dont emphasize scriptural study & answering criticism of the bible & of church doctrine with scriptural reasoning. Not like they used to. And when someone tries to keep telling you WHAT to think instead of teaching you HOW to reason for yourself, that is brainwashing To me, in the congregation I grew up in in the 70s & 80s, we were encouraged to ask our own questions & argue among ourselves. Because those arguments led us to deeper scriptural knowledge. Basic common sense & logic were encouraged & applied. Today the difference is very stark. The GB have made a 180° turn
i am very glad i found your channel this morning. thank you for breaking down and extensively articulating how difficult cult life can be controlling and manipulating. Think about it..Nobody just wakes up one morning and decides to live by a massive list of rules. One has to be coerced by others to shape their minds.
Excellent, professional presentation, I think many JW's will relate and find this helpful. I know I do on so many levels. Hopefully you can continue sharing your journey. I am still PIMO working on gradually waking up my wife and it has been a VERY difficult time waking up. I started waking up a few years before COVID and completely woke up just before COVID and went through some VERY dark times. Therapy and practicing mindful thinking has made a huge difference and hopefully I can get to where I have a purpose in life, now that the only purpose I had in life is gone. As a JW you are tought from birth that there is nothing for you in this life except to serve the organization with "paradise" or "the real life" as they like to say, coming in the NEXT life. When all that goes away one can be left with no hope, no purpose especially when being indoctrinated for some 40 years. Its good to hear life experience from others and how they have coped. Thank you
Thank you so much and I’m sorry to hear about what you’re going through. It’s definitely designed to put people at their lowest. I’m so glad you’re prioritizing your mental health. You will come out stronger!!!
Hello I'm a PIMO also ...I'm already pretty long awake, but my wife doess not know...she is a very fanatic pioneer and follow blinfully the elders and GB etc... How do you wake here up from this cult?? Thank you so much
@@Christen-ed2qj Im not sure if my wife will ever wake up. Sometimes it feels like i'm making progress with her but then other times she gets really worried and upset about my "salvation" when i raise issues. All her family and our kids are fully in so even when she might start questioning things i'm sure subconsciously she cant go there. I can't help but feel though that eventually the discrepancies with the teachings and the hypocrisy they show, that it will reach a tipping point someday for her to wake up. One thing i started with was i told her when they ask for absolute "obedience" even when it "doesn't make sense from a human standpoint" that that is not compatible with the Bible on so many levels. For one, the scripture in Hebrews that they always use to demand obedience is not what it seems on the surface. Just like the example they always use for the varying words for love in the Bible there is also for obedience. In Hebrews the word for obedience involves being PERSUADED to obey, far from absolute obedience when it doesn't make sense. There are Hebrew words for absolute obedience but it is never used in reference to those taking the lead. Another one i have brought up is the scriptures that say not to be afraid of the prophet thats words do not come true. I show her where despite the WT claims to the contrary, WT HAS called themselves Prophets in the past and even the recent statement that listening to them is like listening to Jesus is clearly putting themselves in the position of a prophet. Considering the definition of prophet there are many other times that they show themselves to be acting as prophets even if they deny the title. Clearly their predictions/words have failed to come true so many times. Why would you consider the boy who cried wolf a reliable source of information that should always be followed? There are other things as well that i bring up but i always make sure i can show her from the bible or WT publications the proof. She doesn't like it but she does agree many times i am right but always goes back to "they are imperfect men". That argument does not work though with using the scriptures in conjunction with their teachings. Im hoping that death by a thousand cuts will eventually break through the cognitive dissonance. Sometimes she confronts me about if i believe that the GB is who Jehovah uses to direct his people. I respond with I think they are used, but i tell her, as Geoffrey Jackson said, (he was being evasive with the Australian Royal Commission and was not really meaning that but those were his words) they are not the ONLY ONES used. I am compiling a document with scriptures and WT references highlighting many such issues. I have multiple pages worth. Its a running rough draft and a bit disjointed as i haven't had time to finish compiling and edit it. Every time i think i'm ready to edit it i think of something else. I would be happy to send it to you for reference.
@@WakeingUp I read all your arguments and the ones from this video, and from many other videos, writings on the internet, etc. The main point that is always pushing me back to the JWs as the true (or almost true) organization is what Jesus said: Matthew 7:16, "By their fruit you will recognize them." So when you look to the numbers of the organisation is clearly this is the only religious organization that is REALLY making good fruit and growing up. We could talk about other points I consider make it clear it's the true religion, like preaching, but the previous point alone is a strong one. I don't only mean the number of members, but the number of places to congregate, the number of countries where JWs are present, and the number of languages everything is provided. Many other governments, religions and companies have tried to translate their stuff to many languages as possible and to be present on as many countries as possible, but they're very far away from JW, very, very far away! So, to me it's clearly that this is something more than a human thing, because if it were, then would happen the same to other religions, companies and governments as I mentioned. Only God (Jehovah) is guiding the JW to accomplish these success. And yeah, it's quality over quantity, but at the same time, if you have something that is the truth, it's normal is growing and growing up, just like Jesus mentioned when saying that the true servants would move from being as little as a mustard seed (smaller than a been) to being as a mustard tree (which is super high, strong and robust). This last teaching from Jesus is very pointily as we are talking about the same object, a mustard seed that eventually and obviously grows in a mustard tree. So he suggested that the true religion or organization would move or start from the same source. That's were in a very pertinent way, Satan designed very dark times (thousands of years) to disappear any clue about the last true Christians, and all false religions started. What I mean is, if that wouldn't happened, eventually you'd have something very similar to JW: a group of people studying the Bible, using all humans resources to spreed the truth (radio, books, TV, internet), which would be only one religion as God has always used one true people like the Israelites, the Jews and eventually they would need a legal name because in these times you need to protect anything you produce under a personal or organisational legal name. Maybe we would be called the Jehovah's Christians, Jehovah's Servants, Jehovah's People... So, the point is that we really come from that mustard seed which is already the mustard tree. Maybe we are at the top of the mustard tree, or maybe it's growing up a little bit more.
I was raised in the cult, left when I was 20 and have been out for around 15 years now. This was the best video I've seen on the topic. I love that you are allowing space for yourself to heal in a healthy way and sharing it with the world 💙
When in the grip of an institutionalized religion it is difficult to understand why everyone else doesn't share your belief but once you become liberated you find it astonishing that you actually believed any of it in the first place
I was born and raised Jehovah’s Witness , and on Aug 12th, 2021, I prayed to Jehovah letting him know how much this religion has hurt my heart. Since I was born I’ve been told that God was going to destroy all who were not witnesses. I couldn’t do it anymore I prayed to God letting him know all the damage this religion has done in my life....I told God that all I wanted was his love not paradise especially knowing all the non-witnesses that I loved were dead and I would gladly give my life in exchange for my children that are not witnesses. I told him I could no longer assist meetings because this religion is making me think badly of him. I remember yelling in my head how I couldn’t understand how a loving God could do this knowing our imperfections...I was sobbing, overwhelmed with grief when all of a sudden I had a thought of : I would never hurt anyone. I felt it down to my bones, I instantly calmed down and felt at peace. That night as I was laying down, my whole body started with intense waves of vibration, I started to sit up and it kept going, then I just had this knowing not be afraid and I just relaxed and immediately I started seeing all these lights and I was in a tunnel of light. I kept thinking if my husband turned around I was going to be sparkling! Then I was inside of this most amazing light that was filling me with so much love, fractals of light were coming towards me and all I could hear was I love you, you are loved over and over again. I felt all the pain and hate and hurt melt from my core, I was just floating there in unimaginable love and bliss, I thought of my kids and then it just melted away and I was sitting in bed. I was drunk with Gods love for 2 weeks, I was healed from a full body skin illness I had been suffering for 3 years. I haven’t been back to any meetings since. Haven’t spoken to any elders about what happened just my mom and husband her reaction was not surprising, immediately told me to talk to an elder. I know they will say it was demonic, but how can a love so complete not be from something so pure? Because of this experience, I started researching and was blown away by THOUSANDS of accounts of others who have had this out of body experience called NDE or STE, I’m telling you it’s mind blowing how death has been held over us. Everyone says the same thing: God is not Judging us WE are!!! I still pray and feel Gods Holy Spirit with me something I had never felt in the Kingdom Hall! I just want others to know that God is not in the religious buildings/kingdom hall he is in our hearts everywhere we go, always. He does not give us the spirit of fear, anything in the Bible that causes fear is a misinterpretation. Jesus came to free us from the lies and it’s happening again, we are the new scrolls...the countless witnesses of how religions are a snare! Jesus said it was done! He didn’t say now we have to follow another religions rules to inherit the kingdom! My Father and I share the same will that ALL WILL BE SAVED!
“Hell” is described in the Bible as being separated from God. Just as we are right now on this earth, separated from God in heaven. The last thing you want to do is to pray to continue to be separated from God/Jesus when he comes again. You want to be in heaven with him not elsewhere. That will be hell.. continued.
@@jaredpetersmith914 The very doctrine of hell is in itself a lie. It’s a matter of wrong interpretations of what really this hell thing is. It’s not a scary place of punishment. Everyone goes there after death. The god of this world wanted you to believe in lies.
@@I_Am_because_God_Is That’s quite weird, if that was God’s Holy Spirit, it should have stopped you from leaving Jehovah in the very first place. Is Jehovah’s destruction of the wicked unjustified for the length of time He waited for humans to repent? Even the Jews of old were delivered into their enemies when the turned away from Jehovah and worshiped other gods. You told Jehovah your own choice as if your thoughts are higher than His? You were just caught out in emotional outbursts. You have forgotten that what humans wanted to preserve he will lose instead. You lack faith in Jehovah that He can have better judgement than humans like us.
I am a truth seeker, and a Christian. I like what you said about truth doesn’t mind being questioned and isn’t threatened by opposing views. I even noticed this censorship in certain churches, with pastors saying that we should stay away from the internet. We can think and do our own research on any topic, and, if anything, it would strengthen our beliefs (if our beliefs actually are true). I’m leery of anyone telling you not to do your own research, whether it be about your faith, the medical industry, history, science, etc. Thanks for your honesty!
Id love to show that scripture to the next JW I meet, somewhere from acts forward, where the congregation members didnt just accept what the speaker was saying. (Paul? Timothy? Titus? I dont remember) They wanted proof from the scriptures, & the speaker had to supply it to them Also jesus said "Woe to you, scribes & pharisees, hypocrites! Because you teach not god's laws, but doctrines of men" I left in 2014, shortly after they dumbed down the bible, dumbed down the songs, & began what I see as a program of centralized control using video presentations, instead of emphasizing scriptural study & scriptural reasoning
John 7:16-17 ESV So Jesus answered them, “My teaching is not mine, but his who sent me. If anyone’s will is to do God’s will, he will know whether the teaching is from God or whether I am speaking on my own authority...“

That’s what I still experience, along with the shame of going along with the whole theatre in spite of reservations I had deep down inside. In a way I chose to be blind … and put my reasoning brain in a box 🙈
Wow very nice. Thank you for such a beautifully created video. No anger, just practical and insightful. I'm on my deconstrunction journey also. I was pimo for about 1o years after reading the ray franz book, but you reach a point when you have to make a stand for yourself or live in fear forever. I always compare it to Neo deciding to face the agent in the matrix movir... lol
Aubrey, Excellent breakdown and easy to follow logical explanations on your subject at hand. Very valid & true. Its great to see so many exposing watchtower and many other cults like them. The more we speak out. The greater the awareness becomes. You & many others are doing the real life saving work. !!!! Great job!!!
Awww thank you so much @tammyg8031 🙏🏽 thank you for taking the time to watch and support my channel ❤️ and you’re right cult awareness / education about mind control is so important as many are indoctrinated in different ways.

@@kevinhahn3286 I’m sorry about loosing your wife. I’m at the end of a very nasty divorce. Married 45 years. He will not open his eyes and see the real truth about this cult. Yet lying is a daily thing with him. I’m sick of it. Just waiting for the judge to make her ruling.
@@nicosyiallouris1103 Jehovah’s people are not at all poisonous in any means. Only misguided people will say such words against them. And they’re not a cult either. They simply wanted to obey their God rather than men. It is more wrong to leave Jehovah and your faithful brothers and sisters for whatever reason. It’s Jehovah above all one must look up to. Read Hebrews 10:19-25.
When I left the JW's in 2010 (disfellowship) it took me 2 years to let go. I let go because I tried to go back after a year and instead of welcoming me they said they wanted me to sing and be happy even though I wasn't. I didn't understand why this was a requirement for repentance. I assumed they just don't want me back. I felt I wasn't wanted. That hurt. I didn't want to be anywhere where I wasn't wanted.
Well done! This will help a lot of people. Escaped from mormonism after 36 years. Slowly but surely trying to "re-construct" my conditioning, but it is possible. Best of luck to all who are in a similar situation.
@bagelb - Congrats!! 🎉 I began to wake up from the JW's (Jehovah's Witness) by reading about Mormons and watching videos entitled.."I was a Mormon". Then John Dehlin's excommunication was broadcast on television. I started following him and I noticed a ton of similarities between the JW's and the Mormons. This was an eye-opener for me!! After that I got the courage to go to UA-cam and look up.. "Why do people leave the Jehovah's Witnesses faith"...that's when I really started waking up! I became obsessed listening to all ExJW stories on UA-cam and the FEAR of the "so called" apostates that we are taught to detest started to become a different reality, they are just people telling their experiences when they were an active JW and why they left. So all the stigma started to dwindle. Then I branched out and started looking into Seventh Day Adventist, Scientology, Christadelphians, The Brethren, Christian Science. I started noticing the parallels between all the religions, and it runs deep...no questioning, no doubting and everything comes from the top down. The rank-and-file are just the followers with no personal self, no individuality. After you wake up and start seeing these things it can take a toll on you, especially if this is the only thing you have known all of your life. Therapy is definitely a must when waking up! I can now honestly say that life is better on the outside! 💯
I know it's not about the views but if this video came out ten years ago it would have gotten no less than a million views. This information is so relevant but I think people have learned of high control cults so much they no longer spend time learning how to cope with them. Excellent video.
This is such a well-constructed and impactfully delivered synopsis (of cult strategy) that it should also be saved in in written form. Excellent guest speaker personality to keep in mind.
I’m an ex seventh day Adventist and it’s crazy how much of what you said resonates with me and my experience in this religion. Still unlearning things I was taught. I left when I was 17.
Aubrey, this is excellent, simplistic, powerful. I wish I would’ve had this clear and concise summary in the beginning days of my deconstruction. Guaranteed this message will help many people. Thank you! Miranda a/k/a Amy. 🤗
At 18, I asked our presiding overseer, "what about all those peole who never heard the truth, like in countries where the Witnesses aren't allowed? Will Jehovah kill them?" He told me that question was a gross sin because it was doubting the Society and Jehovah himself. It tokk me 3-4 years after that moment to leave, and I've been out for 25 years.
Isn't that insane? Even though the book that supposedly is their ultimate authority commands them " Do not believe every inspired expression, but test the expression to SEE WHETHER it originates with God", and be like the Bereans, "who were noble minded, carefully examining the scriptures as to WHETHER THESE THINGS ARE SO." Question, test. If you dare to do just that, you will be punished, ostracized, or booted out for it. Undeniable Idolatry.
I used to be entangled with that organization as well. I praise God for revealing His truth, His whole truth and nothing but His truth. I’m glad that you got out as well.
Thank you for coming forward with your research. And, also thank you for editing it. Sometimes, well-meaning Podcasters will take a list of 5 or 6 bullet points and they spend 20-25 minutes on a rant filled with rabbit holes and disconnected thoughts.
Thanks Aubrey! Excellent explanation to help others liberate themselves from dangerous ideologies propagated by countless religious cults. The United States is filled with them. Public awareness is essential. You're doing an awesome job. I recall what I had to do to liberate myself from the Watchtower cult. In my researching, objective investigation was the key. Thank you, again.
Thanks for watching! I agree with you that public awareness is so essential because, like you said, it's so rampant and insidious! So glad you are living your true life!
I love this vid. My experience of fading was similar, over time I felt too many unloving inflicted hurts built up and I just couldn't stand the nonsense way the talks were sounding so I never went back. My journey happened at the start of co vid too, during lockdowns I did so much yoga, which isn't allowed, and felt like I was being true to me as I had always wanted to do it. The watchtower is a joke, I can't believe I did it for so long.
I left a Korean Christian high control group almost 2 years ago. (Very similar to the JWs, byw). And I am still deconstructing. What you explain in 13 minutes is, what I learned in these last two years on my own. I wish I saw your channel earlier. Thanks! A lot. ;)
@wuggyteddy Hi, the name of the group is Shincheonji. There are many akirean cults, and they have a lot of similarities. There is the Unification Church (Moonies), the World Mission Society Church of God (WMSCoG), JMS..... In my case it was Shincheonji (SCJ) and the leader is Man Hee Lee.
JW's are surprisingly good at convincing people the world will end soon yet when you remind them every date has passed and we are still here they get defensive. For a religion that prides itself on knowing this one thing above all others I wonder why so many remain involved.....until I watched your video. Thank you for explaining the process and how you have managed to gain your freedom. I wish you peace and contentment as you embrace your new life.
I was raised JW and my mom has been one 60 years. I myself am a Buddhist and Taoist practitioners after leaving the JWs 30 years ago. To be honest the only problem I have with JWs is they worship the religion and the ones who have been in for decades are afraid to leave or change views. My mom refuses to even talk religion with me in fear she disrespects Jehovah or speaks agains the organization . I don’t try to change her because 60 years of indoctrination are hard to break. It works for though to a certain degree but nor really because she lives in fear and the organization teaches nothing about the mind, meditation or how to alleviate negative emotions like Buddhism does. She suffers anxiety and depression but will never even take advice on anything that goes against her beliefs. I have tried to show her different videos on different views of the Bible and she literally started calling Jehovahs name and was afraid to look at a video on different views of the Bible. They do become indoctrinated and fear keeps them bound. If I were Christian i would be Catholic or orthodox but now a witness. The funny part is I offered to go with her because as Buddhist it wouldn’t matter if I went with her to a meeting. The only thing she says is there will be resurrection of the righteous and unrighteous, me being the unrighteous. The religion does very little for her in helping her with her mental health. In fact the religions is a cause for her anxieties and fears. I am happy you left and hope you find a spirituality that resonate with you. Buddhism and Taoism has been a godsend for me. I have healed from severe depression and anxiety due to the wisdom gained from lord Buddha. Amituofo ☸️☯️☸️
You have a talent for learning and conveying that knowledge to others. I am not nor never of the JW church yet I do see that church and its members in my community, which is a fairly large city and sprawling metro area. In most cases, those folks were born into JW families and their religious mindset becomes their future. I hope they see your video to shake them up. Yet, I wonder if all of us non-JWs carry similar baggage about some other topics. We should all assess our lives regarding racism, genderism, nationalism, wealth or social classism, and any other in-group mentality. Of your 10 messages, my favorite one, (at least, for today,) is: "Do not confuse Conformity with Unity." Thanks for that.
You’re spot about born-in JWs and how that becomes their future mindset. It’s very unfortunate because without realizing it many take a vow to poverty and cannot live their true potential. And I agree with you that we should all assess our lives regarding a lot of social topics. In fact, when I woke up from the cult, I realized that mind control came in different forms.. corporate, social media, politics etc. This was another awakening for me lol . Thank you so much for watching my video and your kind words truly appreciate it ❤️
This world has many problems. The solution is still the kingdom. Millions died ..you cannot bring about their resurrection . God will. Justice will only he achieved for black slaves who died on slave ships , and the millions of others, by means of Gods king Christ Jesus. I'm aware of the truths you think you've come to know. They are half truths. Prophecy is what all who oppose God and his representatives hiloght..that YHWH is the God of true prophecy .. What he foretells, comes to be.
@@ownup987 What awakening are you talking about? That you should take part be active and immerse yourself with the world? There’s no other hope for this planet and mankind but Jehovah’s Kingdom where Christ is now reigning in heaven. What true potential you are talking about? Being rich and famous? Or can you be specific please? What is more better potential than living forever in a paradise earth without death, pain, sickness or whatever that hurts humans today? Is there any other religious denomination that offers better solutions for this world other than Jehovah? Mostly the choices are either hell or heaven as Christendom taught. But knowing who will go to heaven and why. Knowing what really hell is, nothing but a false doctrine. It’s more than a 100% assurance that on Jehovah have solutions in store for humans and the earth alike. So now after leaving Jehovah you have achieved your true potential? In Jehovah even death can still have hope. Away from Jehovah, death is the end game for everything.
When I lived in the USA I saw this in the way they’re so brainwashed into “this is the greatest country on earth “ and the worship of the flag, singing the National anthem every sport event, I can understand why they think the world needs to be like them they’re never allowed to think anything different…
Not thinking your own thoughts is always highlighted as a problem with cults by detractors. But to those joining a cult, it's a feature and not a glitch. Typically they're sick of their own thoughts. Giving up your ego and your own thoughts is what they're after.
Credit to you. You have pointed out enormous tactics and the effects caused by controlling religions. When one steps outside a cult environment and looks back, it is surprising how obvious it is even though one couldn't see it at the time.
I stay away from religions. I love God with all my heart and seek God in everything and everywhere. I have found God in everything and everywhere as a result.
I am 67 years old, life disappointment was wasting my life! The first part of my life with being raised as a Jehovahs Witness and believing everything was truth. The second part of my life was researching all the Jehovah's Witnesses doctrine for bible truth. The more thought and years I wasted trying to find bible truth the more doctrine lies were discovered. All Watchtower doctrines are lies and spiritual manipulation. Not one doctrine! I could have been a victim of no blood transfusion which changed my life. Parent packed up and left another state do to threats of taking me away. Then I had no more health issues. Left elementary school do to the blood isssues. Forced to drop out of school because Armageddon was near,1975. Married my pedphile before age 18 because there was no one to date. Teenagers are limit to only dating Jehovahs Witnesses. I never found True Love when it is conditioned. Most young women in 60 and 70 were encouraged to drop out, get married, and pioneer! Basically my life was ruined by this religion and JW mother. @ownup98 Thank you for making this video. I've been off and on waking up over the years and now the last year or so became PIMO. This video helps me see what I can do to heal and be free of the hold this religion has on us via brainwashing and indoctrination. Pimos are referred to in the bible..l never thought it poss. But think about it.. Rev 11:18 hasn't been fulfilled completely ..has it ? Men still are ruining the earth. I was raised Roman Catholic but it never got the deep roots. I seem to have thought it did not make sense. I came to think all dogmas use the same tools to control its adherents. One quote I liked, “ When you know why you dismiss all other religions, then you will understand why I dismiss yours.”
I too am raised Roman Catholic. Over the last year I started studying my faith. I'm blessed to be born catholic. Al you need to do is use the BITE model made Steven Hassan. That's model is used to determine whether a groupmis a cult or not. I was curious one day out our religion into it. Roman Catholicism is NOT a cult I'm happy to say.
@@meggo329 I like parts of the experience of my growing up in Catholic School and was even an Alter Boy. There is a beauty in the ceremony, churches, music and community. I can appreciate that. I looked at the BITE model you mentioned. I would agree the Roman Catholic Church today would not be classified as a cult. For me, I grew up in New Orleans, segregation was still present. I went to Catholic school, we had not one black kid in our school. We lived one block from the black neighborhood. I just came to view things differently.
@@freshrockpapa-e7799 20% of the U.S. is Catholic, 66.6% of the Supreme Court is Catholic. I’m sure you are well familiar with how politics works and how that influenced that outcome. I agree it is not like it was at it’s peak. You are very much correct on that. Catholicism has taken to not instructing many passages from the bible. It is evolving. My main concern is when primates are told by other primates to believe something on no evidence. I can’t say I know a great deal of the Jehovah’s Witnesses. I understand they consider us outsiders dead to be saved. I know they have no windows on their places of worship. It seems they are only allowed fellow JW as friends. They can be cut off from the community if leaving the faith.
The lie starts at the door. “Good morning, we would like to share a scripture with you.” “I have my own faith.” “Most people do.” “With the turmoil we see in world today it’s good that you have a faith to turn to.” “Notice what the Bible says, scripture is read. “Do you agree with that?” “Yes.” “I would like to come back next week to talk further on this subject.” “Yes, I like talking about the Bible, but I don’t want to change my religion.” “We understand that.” “We just want to encourage people to understand what the Bible really says about our future.” No you are really there to change their religion to JW. Liar liar pants on fire
My awakening from the JW's happened because of science in science-fiction. I love Star Trek and Stargate. I loved how science improved those fictional world and looked at our world and I was spelled bounded so much that I read lost of Quantum Theory and Astronomy by the time I was 12. At 35 I realized the "Society" of Jehovah's Witness had gotten so much wrong. They story of the Ark was my first step out. I realized there wasn't enough water on the earth to fill up the atmosphere and flood every mountain. I came across a book called the Biblical Flood and Ice Epoch (By Donald Patten) that tried to find alternative ways that the Flood myth could have come true by means of a large body interacting with the Earth and Moon creating large tides over the planet. It was incredibly fascinating. At the same time I was talking on a Forum called the Science Forum. They were brutal to me but I withstood it with great humility and enthusiasm. They taught me a lot about logic and biological evolution. A few years later after all that research...and being disfellowshipped from the JW's I could see how right science was. I had read the JW creation book. I knew the JW's didn't really understand what they were denouncing I was on the path of knowledge.
Wow I think the flood definitely happened. They had mudslides and the reason I prone to believe is simply there's no way for you or any scientific researcher to say how much water is in the ocean or in the earth. In fact there are multiple deep holes in the earth that suck down water so what water are the measuring? The water in the ocean or the water under the earth?
@@amysdreamvideos8174 Inded, measuring the amount of water on a planet is difficult but not impossible. There are a number methods and the refine the overall analysis. SEISMIC waves: sound travels through water different and slower than rock. Density of the planet and how it shifts can be measured by satellites like GRACE and Gravity Probe B. Also the electrical conductivity of the rock on in Earth's mantle gives other clues to how much water is underground. We also know that there is a limit to how deep water can go because of the extreme heat. It will vaporize and rise back up entering vast underground caverns where it will be trapped unless a volcanic Eruption releases it and we also know colliding continents force water underground. This may be the reason we have Plate Techtonics.
Great personal account of the cult exit process. The ways cults recruit and indoctrinate is pretty universal- the same processes in the same order- one thing not mentioned is that cults use deception to recruit which can be in the form of front groups (the JWs currently seem to be using mental health issues with them as the cure), but can also take the form of a bait and switch. Steve Hassan has some excellent books on the process- he was recruited into the "Moonies". Another big tool cults use is phobia- something terrible will happen if you leave/question doctrine etc. Most cult recruits are intelligent and well-meaning people, somewhat idealistic and usually mentally and physically fit (because the level of energy required to recruit others is exhausting). Psychological experiments that are relevant to cult indoctrination include the Milgram compliance experiement, the Solomon Asch conformity experiment and the Stanford prison experiment. Humans are social animals and prone to adjust behaviour (and therefor beliefs) in order to fit in- we all think we are independent thinkers but we are far more prone to adapt ways that allow us to fit in than we are aware of- it is why testimonials are used in advertising- they are lousy evidence but, because they are written by people like us (or perceived to be) they have influence over buying decisions, same with celebrity endorsements. The work of Robert Cialdini on social psychology is really interesting- and highly relevant to how cults and high control groups can have such influence over intelligent people.

What help you wake up from a controlling relationship?
Liked *"The truth doesn't mind being questioned, but a lie doesn't like being challenged"* .
💯
A teacher loves being questioned.
A narcissist thinks a question is a challenge.
Ok, so here is a question:
.
Is it a cult or is what the bible said would happen, really happening?
.
Consider this:
.
I tell Jehovah's Witnesses to go through the narrow gate that is on the cramped road leading to life.
.
Matthew 7:13-14
“Go in through the narrow gate; because broad and spacious is the road leading off into destruction, and many are the ones going in through it; 14 whereas narrow is the gate and cramped the road ** LEADING OFF INTO LIFE ** and few are the ones finding it.
.
I ask them to read what Jehovah said would happen at the time of the end that is in every Christians bible and yet, few are the ones finding it:
.
Isaiah 66:5
Hear the word of Jehovah, YOU men who are trembling at his word: “YOUR brothers that are hating YOU, that are excluding YOU by reason of my name, said, ‘May Jehovah be glorified!’ He must also appear with rejoicing on YOUR part, and they are the ones that will be put to shame.”
.
[Name of person] is no longer one of JEHOVAH's Witnesses ---->> "excluding YOU by reason of MY NAME"
.
I ask them if they can see Jehovah's promise to disfellowshipped Jehovah's Witnesses:
.
"He must also appear with rejoicing on YOUR part"!
.
I then warn them that, if they go through this narrow gate they will lose their family as a consequence of the Watchtower Societies shunning policies.
.
Then I ask them to read what Jesus Christ said about everlasting life:
.
Mark 10:29-30
Jesus said: “Truly I say to YOU men, No one has left house or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or fields for my sake and for the sake of the good news 30 who will not get a hundredfold now in this period of time, houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and fields, with persecutions, and in the coming system of things ** EVERLASTING LIFE **
.
I then ask them if they want to live forever.
.
I also tell them that they can leave the organization and their congregation with dignity by telling everybody that they believe Jehovah, Jesus Christ and everything else in the bible.
.
Walk out with your head held high and jump for joy when you do.
.
What Jehovah said would happen, is now really happening!
.
That's Good News ................... right!
.
Jesus said: “Truly I say to YOU men, No one has left house or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or fields for my sake and FOR THE SAKE OF THE GOOD NEWS.
.

Exactly!! The most intelligent people I know stay curious about life.
Who appointed Jesus to be high priest forever according to Jesus prophecies? And who appointed him according to this civilization?

Ex-Mormon here. I'm always blown away how my experience is similar to those who are Ex-JW. This video made my day 😊 I wish you the very best
Wishing you the best. You are very brave 🍀🍀🍀

Thank you.

But, he went right into protecting the Watchtower Society. @@takeitzenman7894 That is great!!
And my metric to judge cults are , "are you free to leave and be left alone?" If not, well that's a cult.
Same! Good stuff!
Great video. As someone who broke free from being a Jehovah Witness, this is exactly what happens. I was raised in it from the age of 3-4 years old. I moved away from everyone and slowly reprogrammed myself. You leave ALL friends when you make that decision.
Thank you and happy for you!
this was my exact situation , i’m so glad i woke up
There is a reason why the first lesson after baptism in their curriculum is called “choose your friends wisely.” They get you in, and tell you to reject anyone outside of it.
I appreciate that ♥️ thank you! 😊 And glad you are enjoying your freedom and fulfilling life.
Does pimo mean they believe in something else, or nothing?
PIMO (physically in mentally out) is a JW who is still in the org but doesn’t believe in the teachings as much or questions them.
I think the scary truth is they try to make you think when you're first learning that you are questioning things, when in reality it's all leading questions to bring you to the answer that they want you to get.
💯
🎯 Right on. They dont emphasize scriptural study & answering criticism of the bible & of church doctrine with scriptural reasoning. Not like they used to. And when someone tries to keep telling you WHAT to think instead of teaching you HOW to reason for yourself, that is brainwashing
To me, in the congregation I grew up in in the 70s & 80s, we were encouraged to ask our own questions & argue among ourselves. Because those arguments led us to deeper scriptural knowledge. Basic common sense & logic were encouraged & applied. Today the difference is very stark. The GB have made a 180° turn

Thank you

@@WakeingUp me too.. every time my wife reacts a bit normal.. another JW is breaking that directly down again..
@@WakeingUp I read all your arguments and the ones from this video, and from many other videos, writings on the internet, etc. The main point that is always pushing me back to the JWs as the true (or almost true) organization is what Jesus said:
Matthew 7:16, "By their fruit you will recognize them." So when you look to the numbers of the organisation is clearly this is the only religious organization that is REALLY making good fruit and growing up.

That will be hell.. continued.

Thank you for sharing your journey into freedom.
(Paul? Timothy? Titus? I dont remember) They wanted proof from the scriptures, & the speaker had to supply it to them
Also jesus said "Woe to you, scribes & pharisees, hypocrites! Because you teach not god's laws, but doctrines of men"
I left in 2014, shortly after they dumbed down the bible, dumbed down the songs, & began what I see as a program of centralized control using video presentations, instead of emphasizing scriptural study & scriptural reasoning

@bagelb - Congrats!! 🎉
I began to wake up from the JW's (Jehovah's Witness) by reading about Mormons and watching videos entitled.."I was a Mormon".
@@deanjoseph2868 if it helps just one person to not be ensnared by the trap it’s a great video.
This is such a well-constructed and impactfully delivered synopsis (of cult strategy) that it should also be saved in in written form. Excellent guest speaker personality to keep in mind.
Thank you so much for your kind words. Glad you enjoyed this video and found it impactful ❤️ 🙏🏽
I’m an ex seventh day Adventist and it’s crazy how much of what you said resonates with me and my experience in this religion. Still unlearning things I was taught. I left when I was 17.
I hope things are getting better ❤️🩹
Aubrey, this is excellent, simplistic, powerful. I wish I would’ve had this clear and concise summary in the beginning days of my deconstruction. Guaranteed this message will help many people. Thank you! Miranda a/k/a Amy. 🤗
Thank you so much! I’m glad you liked it! ❤️
Thank you ❤ you explained the process so well 💕
Thank youuuuu
I sincerely hope the people who need to find this message do so. Thanks for sharing.
This video is of such good quality. Needs more views. You did such a great job with this. You're awesome and thanks
Thank you so much 🙏🏽 😆
Nice Video I will share this with my family who are still stuck in a cult.
Definition of a Cult: No Honorable way to leave.
I used to be entangled with that organization as well. I praise God for revealing His truth, His whole truth and nothing but His truth. I’m glad that you got out as well.
Thank you for coming forward with your research. And, also thank you for
editing it. Sometimes, well-meaning
Podcasters will
take a list of 5 or
6 bullet points and they spend 20-25 minutes on a rant filled with rabbit holes and
disconnected thoughts.

So happy it resonated with you and congrats to your freedom 🎉 👏🏼
I left a Korean Christian high control group almost 2 years ago. (Very similar to the JWs, byw). And I am still deconstructing. What you explain in 13 minutes is, what I learned in these last two years on my own. I wish I saw your channel earlier.
Thanks! A lot. ;)
Thank you 🙏🏽
i know of a korean cult in winnipeg in the early 80s could be the same one but please tell me what is the name of the cult i want to google it
@wuggyteddy Hi, the name of the group is Shincheonji.
Appreciate that. And Thank you so much for being open to understanding other peoples experiences.
Outstanding video. Thanks for sharing. Im 3 years out and still going, its a long process and not easy.
Thank you 😊 yes it is an uneasy process but the hard part is over .. and now the best parts lay ahead 🎉 🎉
I’m glad you broke free and found a path that resonates with you! Thank you 🙏🏽

A new understanding of 2 thess 2:2 has made a huge difference to me
Well done video. Hope you make many more! 💕
Thank you so much for watching 🙏🏽
When I lived in the USA I saw this in the way they’re so brainwashed into “this is the greatest country on earth “ and the worship of the flag, singing the National anthem every sport event, I can understand why they think the world needs to be like them they’re never allowed to think anything different…
Very well laid out. I wish I had you as a college instructor. You explain complex concepts, into a way thats easy to understand.
Thank you so much. I really appreciate your comment! I do enjoy learning and teaching 😊
If something is true, there is no need to manipulate people into it, because truth would always find it's way. But a lie needs to be covered up.
Wow you broke this down so perfectly!!
Thank you 😊
This was really helpful to me. Thank you for sharing your experience and your growth. 🧐😊
A human weakness is wanting to be socially accepted, at all cost.
Stand on your own.
Listen to your own heart!
WOW!!! I have never felt like that, I actually feel happy and grateful and if I have any doubt I just go to the source, do research etc.
Good news, I went to college after leaving this cult!
I’m so sorry to hear that and it is very awful how much they control our lives.
But I’m glad that have such a positive attitude even though what we’ve been through! And happy to hear you went to college ❤️

Wow 😮 congratulations to your freedom then!
@ownup98 Thank you for making this video. I've been off and on waking up over the years and now the last year or so became PIMO. I experienced spiritual, verbal and emotional abuse from the elders and had enough. Your video has helped me see that others go through an emotional and mental struggle through the deconstruction phase and/or when treated like garbage from the elders. This video helps me see what I can do to heal and be free of the hold this religion has on us via brainwashing and indoctrination. PS: There's actually 17 words in those 10 points 😁😆
Keep up the great work! Cheers from Canada
I’m sorry to hear about your experience. I’m glad my video was helpful and congratulations to your new found freedom 🎈 Thank you 🙏🏽
Pimos are referred to in the bible..l never thought it poss.
But think about it..
Rev 11:18 hasn't been fulfilled completely ..has it ?
Men still are ruining the earth.
Jesus the nazarene was also.a cult or sect.
So..what ?
This is still satans world !
Look at rev 11:6b.
Meditating on scripture is invaluable
Did Jesus and his followers meet with the world's approval ?
@@compositioncompilation Jesus had a mixed response in the eyes of the world. Some loved him and revered him as the messiah and physical king that was going to free the Jews from Roman occupation. Others hated him, and most likely everything in between. We can't dispute the existence of a Jesus character in history, but nobody can prove his divinity. For all we know he was a con man.
@CdnPIMO
Reading 2 thess 2 :2, as new..as if they're instructions Paul is passing down through 2000 years of time , to those governing in the 20th century..around 1914 onwards.
Roman Catholicism is nothing like Jehovah's Witnesses, they don't use coercive techniques.

Another quote "But better to be hurt by the truth than comforted by a lie." The Kite Runner
The lie starts at the door. “Good morning, we would like to share a scripture with you.” “I have my own faith.” “Most people do.”
“With the turmoil we see in world today it’s good that you have a faith to turn to.” “Notice what the Bible says, scripture is read. “Do you agree with that?” “Yes.” “I would like to come back next week to talk further on this subject.” “Yes, I like talking about the Bible, but I don’t want to change my religion.” “We understand that.” “We just want to encourage people to understand what the Bible really says about our future.”
No you are really there to change their religion to JW.
Liar liar pants on fire
I needed this! Thanks!
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks for sharing this video. Great breakdown. You are free. .🙏
I knew the JW's didn't really understand what they were denouncing
I was on the path of knowledge.
Wow how interesting! Glad you took the steps to find your own truth! 😊
This may be the reason we have Plate Techtonics.
im ex jw ,.love your video thank you .
This was brilliant!
I left October 2022. 3rd generation also. I really liked your take on identifying any cult. Thank you for sharing ❤️
