woah.. Vinnie Colaiuta, Lionel Loueke, Chris Potter, and Dave Holland on Electric Bass!!
Classic jazz/fusion, very appreciated.
Old Herbie is having big fun! Niiiice.
Wow... 🤯🤯 Been waitin a while to hear proofs like the onEs on 'here', crazy, crazy good ❗
I love when this tune is played by heavy hitting drummers , vinnie is a monster!
He's one of the best around
D. Holland on Electric Bass!!!
Thanks for sharing the moment!
How did they find their way out of 5:20 oh man - that entire sequence run was ridiculous
They followed the bass... the structure
I was there! Full on. Unfortunately doesn't come close to the subtlety, musicality and ensemble interaction of the original 1974 recording on 'Thrust'
THATS BECAUSE OF THE FUCKING SOLO ARTIST AZZ HOLE DRUMMER ON THIS CUT...
Drums not good Mike clark so much better Tribal tech do a nice take on this
i just saw herbie last month, sadly he doesn't play fully developed solos anymore. he gets about 4 bars in and starts clanging a double diminished chord.
@@TheTayedrums dude you just not understand the languaje
Daves face at the end
Where is the original drummer from the record though???? Every time I hear a live performance of this masterpiece it makes me upset that all I really get to enjoy is the piano work but not the ACTUAL PROOF of the drums that was displayed on the record...
WealthTracker, I love that version too. But songs aren’t supposed stay the same. It’s Jazz. Jazz is change. Actual Proof relates to Herbie’s religious convictions. Buddhism is about change, Jazz is about change. I think Vinnie Colliuta is a giant., Dave Holland on Electric!!! Who would have thought? Lionel is a genius. Herbie is like a kid in a candy store. He’s having a ball!!!!
nice
Aliens...❤
Bravissimo...Leonardo di maro UA-cam jazz PIANIST COMPOSER
Vinnie is a giant stilL doesn make it like Clarck did, and i'm a huge fun of both he is fusion it not funk it ..!
Impressive line-up but for slightly another repertoire...
Vinnie has become so obnoxious over the years, in my opinion. Maybe it’s because I just saw mike Clark play this a couple of weeks ago, but every time I hear a vinnie clip, it’s bombastic hyper-technical, and even disruptive. That’s just me though, and I know the fanboys will freak the hell out.
It's his tune so they can play it however they want. I love jazz just not a big fan of chaotic jazz. Musicianship is great but...
david bearden hm, I don’t think this is that chaotic at all! I think it lies more in the listeners perception than the musicians playing; as you say their musicianship is great and part of that for me is that they are able to play like this without it sounding like a mess, and the key to it is the communicating. Listen with headphones and try not to think too much
This is fun to listen to because the musicians are clearly having fun and so making an unique performance. Everybody knows how this tune sounds on the recording so performing it like this is rewarding for the listener since it shows that the artists are not underestimating the listeners intelligence.
“Chaotic”?! Lol....no! It’s the opposite: richly and masterfully organized. It’s no more “chaotic” than the innards of the Space Shuttle. Perhaps you’re just accustomed to more primitive aircraft, like most of us.
sorry, I respect these guys, but it all sounds kinda anoying
don't expect to comprehend Herbie the first go round. it starts to make more sense after a few tries.
Felipe....its way the fuck over your head!!!!
