@Matteo Allegri Thanks so much for the video!! Quick question: I have a flight to Doha and my terminal is T4s. After check-in and security check at T4, I have to make it to the shuttle( floor -2) that will take me to t4s. Once I get there, what's next? Passport control? Where is this control conducted? I mean what's the first thing that needs to be done after getting off the shuttle? Passport control, then stairs, duty free and gates? Sorry for asking you tons of questions. Thank you so much in advance!
Hi Lauren! After the shuttle you need to take the stairs that you can see at the end of the video (those with green lights at the bottom). At the top of the stairs there is the passport control (divided Schengen and non-Schengen). After that you go through the duty free and then the gates. However all of this is very straightforward, there's no room for error, there's only one way you can go.
@@MatteoAllegri Hello Matteo! Thank you so so much for explaining all of this to me! I guess it must be pretty straightforward but I'm just kind of nervous I guess haha( I am going there to live🍀✈) Again, thank you so much for your time and detailed explanation. I appreciate it a lot. Oh by the way, my check-in is at T4(floor 2) (counters should be 910-919), are security checks near check-in? Again, thank you so much!
Eso lo tienes que preguntar cuando factures en Sevilla, si compraste los 2 vuelos en el mismo billete es probable que no tengas que hacer nada, pero te lo dirá la compañia.
Thank you very much for this video☺️I'm traveling from Austria to Peru and have overlay in Madrid. Arriving to T4 and have to move to T4S. Where I have to go after leaving the train/subway? Upstairs on the right? I have no baggage for check in or reclaim, only my backpack
Hi Lucy! Yes, those stairs are the only way out, after them you'll go through the passport check (automated) and then you can reach your boarding gate in T4S. Guten Flug!
Hello Matteo, can I just ask, im moving to Terminal 4 to Terminal 4S with a check-in baggage, should I check-in at Terminal 4 or they have a check-in counter at Terminal 4S?
Hello @MatteoAllegri 🙏 Thank you so much for sharing the video! 👍I'll be traveling from PMI to Doha (and then to New Delhi, India) with a layover in Madrid. My flight from PMI (Iberia Airways) arrives at Terminal 4, while my connecting flight to Doha (Qatar Airways) departs from Terminal 4S. I have a 1.05-hour layover and will be traveling on a single ticket . Since this is my first time at Madrid airport, I'm a bit worried about finding my way around. I'd really appreciate any tips you could share to help me save time. I believe I need to follow the T4S signboards after exiting my flight, board the shuttle train, use the green escalator after exiting the train at T4S, and then head straight to the gates. Do you think the 1-hour layover will be enough for all of this? Are there any security checks or passport control involved, and if so, do they happen in T4 or T4S? I apologize for the lengthy question, but I truly value your help. May God bless you!
Hello Prasad, don't worry, Madrid's airport has great wayfinding signs, you'll be fine. You got everything right, only thing is that right after the escalator (at T4S) you'll need to go through the passport check (because you're leaving Europe). Regarding the time it takes to go through the check, it largely depends on how crowded it is, it varies depending on the day of the week and the time of the day, so I can't tell for sure. I usually go through pretty fast, but I have a european passport and the process is faster. I suggest you to go to the passport check as fast as you can and not be distracted by the shops at T4. As you're travelling on a single ticket, Iberia will probably announce the gate for your connecting flight to Doha just before landing in Madrid or right after exiting the plane. If not, you'll be able to see the gate of your next flight in the screens at T4, they're everywhere. If you have any further question just let me know 😃 Have a great journey!
@@MatteoAllegri Thank you so much for the comprehensive response 🙏 it has greatly alleviated my concerns 😌 I'll be arriving in Madrid at 8 am on a Friday morning, which may not be a busy time, so I believe a 1-hour layover should be sufficient. Initially, I thought that passport control would only take place at PMI, but it seems that it will be conducted at both PMI and MAD, correct? Once again, I truly appreciate your helpful guidance.
@@prasadkrishnan3294 the passport control is at the airport of exit, in this case Madrid. You'll need to show your passport at the check-in and to board the plane, but the police control of the passport will be in Madrid
Excellent, thank you once again Matteo! 🙏 I hope the mornings won't be too busy, allowing me to make my connection within the layover time. I appreciate your help and wish you all the best
I am arriving into T4 and then catching a flight to Colombia at T4S. I know you have to go through immigration at T4, but does going from T4 to T4S count as leaving the airport? I'm asking because on the Spanish travel health form, one box to click is if the final destination is not in Spain, but it clarifies that , ''You should only tick this box if you are travelling to Spain in transit, i.e. your final destination is a country other than Spain and this transit LASTS LESS THAN 24H, WITHOUT LEAVING THE AIRPORT ENCLOSURE.'' So my question is: Does going from T4 to T4S count as leaving the airport considering that one has to pass through immigration? Thanks for your help.
No, it doesn't count as leaving the airport, T4 and T4S count as one big terminal. You'll actually go through immigration at T4S after you get off the train.
@@godisintherain-6739 Yes, right! There's a good chance they'll never even ask you to show the QR code, you need to show it when you exit the airport, which you aren't.

Since you go through the security check at T4, it's no more than 20/25 minutes to go to the farthest gate at T4S
The train ride itself takes less than 5 minutes.
