While working on the American Strays Project in Detroit, the WA2S Films team came across this precious abandoned scared wet stray dog. This matted poodle-looking-dog appeared to be in peril, not owned, and needed to be rescued.

This world needs more people like the wonderful people who saved this dog. Where is this wonderful dog now? I rescued a poodle type dog and he became our family member in Woodland Hills Calif. for 26 years. When we found him our Vet thought he was about a year old. We miss him but he too went over the Rainbow Bridge. He accepted and was loving to everything in our family (two children now in their forties and a myriad of rescued cats and another dog. Thank you for saving (and staying with the project until you finally rescued her).

I have taken in rescue animals all my life. They used to follow me home from school when I was little. Here in Memphis they are prevalent but am elderly and disabled now. My rescue days are essentially over. Boo Hoo. Pray for every animal I see running loose. Me, you & St. Francis. Bless you all. You are making yourself a spot in Heaven.

12 & a half years ago a cat that had been born a stray decided that we could live together after a 10-day testing and trial., on his part. I helped from day one that he would accept me! I wondered what to name him and I asked him 'Do you have a name'? And I listened quietly. After 25, 30 seconds the name Henry popped into my head. Henry will be 14 come springtime. I learned that he had been locked in bathrooms with female strays by a woman who hoped they would breed, because she liked kitties. To this day, he refuses to be in a room without an exit! He will pace and pace and demand to be let out. Of course, he has a cat door and may come and go at will. I pray that I will have him another six or seven years. Thank you WA2S! Thank you for the work that you do rescuing animals.
Henry....ever heard of Bukowsky ? Henry might love to be free and going where he wants to as his bigger human counterpart....
and he had issues with his females too...
this dog and without a word tells us that he remembers how he was promised to love and threw out everything they have and the memory and feelings and emotions only they say in his own way he is afraid he runs away he is not ready to experience again the betrayal of a person
I got a Yorkie when she was 2 and she looked like this. She had never been groomed. That's why I really wanted to see this dog groomed. Hopefully whoever has her is treating her well and she lives out the rest of her life in a good home with plenty of love.

look at all those boarded up homes, perhaps he was left behind by one of those homeowners, feeling all lonely, lost, scared and confused. Thanks Detroit Dog Saviors for saving this girl. Wish there was a follow up video to see her all clean and pretty in her forever home.

You guys make the world a better place. I want to be like you when I'm older unfortunately. I would probably just start crying because of how cruel people are to animals and they would kick me off the team 😂😂😂
Just remember, the rescue teams aren't the only ones needing people. There's the evaluation/recuperation aftercare people, and then fostering and socialization...so many people needed for what can be a long process and every one of those jobs is as important as the other! Talk to your local rescue/animal shelter about it. You have a good heart, you want to help, they can help you find the best place for you to be able to help. Don't give up, they need people like you!

I'm sure that lady in the video who has multiple sclerosis who is on disability gets so much crap from ignorant people. I have MS and I'm on disability. I don't want to be but I have a very stubborn neurologist. I had a pretty bad exacerbation/ flare up when I was going through a divorce. Normally when you have a flare up, you have one or two active lesions. I had 12 on just the left side of my brain. I was sent to the doctor I go to now who is a specialist. He looked at my MRI before he came into the room. I stood up to introduce myself. He almost fell out. Lol. He says I'm a unicorn. I used up have a handicap placard, but people gave me dirty looks. I actually stopped using it even though the purpose of me having it was to keep strength in my knees.
I need to get another one. I'm not that same person anymore. I don't have an issue being a bitch now. Lol Sorry for the book I just wrote. Now everyone's day is complete.😉 I wish I could get in touch with that lady. I could give her so much inspiration. I'm still in the first stage of it. (relapsing remitting) I got diagnosed 17 years ago when I was 20.

Once cleaned and groomed this charmer will find a good home. One can tell by its lack of aggressiveness that it was once a loved companion to someone.
