- How to change out your foglight assembly or bulb on a 2013 2014 2015 honda accord sedan.
The bulb size is H8: Product Link: amzn.to/2zZayZR
The driver side fogs can't be access through the bottom splash guard. There is a resonator that is in the way.
5:37. I like when he say. “It does have one” when it come later to the cover on the drive side. Thanks for video. Very informative
Make sure when working with Halogen bulbs that you never touch the glass with your fingers. If you do touch it make sure to wipe it off , as the oil from your finger will cause the glass to shatter. These bulbs get super hot so the oil from your fingers will make a hot spot and the bulb will pop.
For the longest time I couldn't figure out how to release my bulb from another tutorial. Yours showed me how. Thanks.
Thanks for the video. Viewers should be reminded not to touch the new bulbs with bare hands. The oils on their fingers can shorten the life of the bulb.
Thanks!
I showed in the beginning of my video that this can be done without ramps/ jack stands, we only really need to slightly go under the car to loosen that under screw
Also Pro Tip ℹ
Leave the 2 under screws slightly loose so that in the future, you can just remove the black exterior foglight black cover and do the whole service from the front
No need to go under the car/ raise it again! 😀
One thing I would mention is - DO NOT TOUCH - the new bulbs, the oil from finger prints will cause them to overheat in short time. If you've experienced bulbs not lasting very long, this could be why. (I learned the hard way!) Great video by the way!
Very helpful video! Thanks for posting this! I was able to quickly and easily change my fog light. I love that some of the male neighbors were watching with amusement when I first started, but then their expressions quickly turned to astonishment when I was done a few minutes later. 😊
🤙🏼🙌🏼💪🏼
Not meant for woman to do without a man 😉
🤣🤣🤣
Good work brother, followed ur guide and was done in 20 minutes..
You can leave the bottom screw loose and so that in the future, you can change them directly from the front much quicker and never have to go under the car
Just installed some bright yellow fogs on my personal vehicle. Even myself being a mechanic, this video helped a lot! thank you.
Your video was helpful, passenger side was easier than the driver side. Also I switched them to LED to match the headlights. Don’t know why Honda had them stock as yellow. Thanks 🙏🏼 man!
Yellow lights are easier on the eyes, yellow fog lights don't reflect as much off water and snow
You're the best, Can't imagine how I'm gonna learn all of these installment and mod about my new honda accord sedan without your videos. Thanks you!
Good tutorial! I saw one where they removed the whole bumper! I'm gonna swap out my Halogen Fog lights for some LED a,d when I saw the other video I was like WTF?!?! Remover the bumper!?! This looks much, much easier! Thanks!!!!
Was it for an LX?
@@Striker50_ If your LX has Fog Lights then I would assume that yes, it should work for an LX.
@@psuave1210 LX doesn't come with fog lights but people add them aftermarket and drill them into the plastic bumper that's why I'm asking
@@Striker50_ My bad. I'm leary of doing things like that to my cars. I would just get a higher trim. Good luck!
@@psuave1210 I got the EX-L just made a video on the foglights
but agreed, adding all of the aftermarket lights is a bit too much for me especially with all of the wiring, gets messy quick
Both sides have the same covers underneath. Only problem is on the drivers side the airbox is in the way.
@C Wu Yes, you can pull the DRL fuse and keep your highbeam function. Unless you drive with the high beams on, I wouldn't suggest doing HID. HID takes a few second to warm up to full brightness, flickering the high beam will be pointless and "might" damage the HID ballast. For the sedan I mounted the ballast in the engine bay and routed the wires down to the foglight area. You can use velcro or double sided tape. Also if you do order from DDM. Call to place your order and make sure you mention to them that you want it shipped from the US warehouse and not from China.
DIY: Car Modz thank you so much for your input. on occasion i use high beam on highway only. so with fuze pulled out will be flickering then? anyway to get rid of flickering ? if no. what do you think if i replace oem drl bulb with H8 LED, 27 x 2835 SMDs 1100 Lumens that DDM sell for ? wil it be same color with low beam H11 hid kit 5000k? what about brightness compare to oem drl bulb? do you have video on how you mount your foglight ballast on engine bay? thanks again.
C Wu pulling the fuse only disables the DRL function, the high beam will still work. The oem DRL bulb is not an H8 bulb though. I believe it is hb3 or 9005. I would not get those led from DDM. Stock will be 100x brighter. Sorry I do not have a video on where to mount the ballast, but just find a flat metal spot.. clean and stick some velcro or tape/zipties.
DIY: Car Modz what your opinion on installing 2014 Honda Accord DRL 9005 hid kit with single beam relay hardness to keep DRL function ?
DIY: Car Modz i just got Kensun HID Xenon Conversion Kit "All Bulb Sizes and Colors" with "Slim" Digital Ballasts - 9005 (HB3) - 5000k to replace 2014 Honda Accord DRL and wondering if compatible with Kensun HID Conversion Kit Single Beam Relay Wiring Harness - 9005 9006 or has to be Bi Xenon hid kit ? thanks
The single wire harness "should" work. The bixenon wire wire harness kit is for vehicles where both the high and the low is from a single bulb. Since the Accord has 2 separate bulb for the low and the high all you need is the single kit for each low and high if you were to use the harness for both.
Nice. Worked perfect. Don’t attempt like the other video from the side.
@Ritchie No, it can not. there is a air resonator box that is in the way.
Really enjoying all your videos.
Thanks
Roger Petroche your welcome, thanks for watching.
Good video, took me about 30 min to complete both sides.
Very good and informative video bro, thank you so much for sharing this info with US!
This has truly helped me to tackle this task almost effortlessly! I appreciate YOU!
Keep up the good work famz!
👍🏼🙋🏽♂️👍🏼
Thanks will be doing this tomorrow wish me luck going to take my time 👌
Still providing help! I did led's on my wife's accord... the only problem was the driver's side! I was about to take off the front bumper!
God bless your life! Thank you for making this video! 👍
Thank you you made replace fog light so easy. thk u again
Great video! I was able to install LEDs on my 15 Honda Accord EXL even tho I lost the first screw on the drivers side 😅 couldn’t find it, hopefully it doesn’t affect how tight it should be when driving
You'll be fine
On my video I made I've been driving with just 1 Phillips screw and never tightened the bottom screw, when the tabs snap into place, that already holds the housing secure, and the 1 screw is more than enough
Good video had a magnetic extended screw driver was a lil difficult but I got it done thanks
Omg this video helped me so much I managed to change my fog lights by myself :)
Wow! I was told the bumper had to be removed to replace fog lights. Thanks
@car modz, first of all thank you for your informative video, without it, i have no clue at all. however i am planning to replace high; low beam and fog light on 2014 honda accord, for DRL 9005 hid kit, ddm tuning advice to pull drl fuze, by removing this fuze do i get high beam function? i am trying to decide what to replace for fog light h8, either regular led 5000k bulb or h8 hid kit, if i go with h8 hid kit, where to mount ballast? thanks so much for your input.
Nice job! Keep them coming regarding removing and/or replace parts on this generation Accords. Now I can replace my burn out bulb on the same side/driver side. Thanks
Very nice video. Exactly what I was looking for. Thanks for showing this.
by doing this, do you think I can setup my HID'S this way? wondering if i can put ballast in and mount in this manner . Thanks for your great work car modz
Ruben Fuentes Yes, just replace the bulb with H8 hid bulb and mount the ballast where you see fit.
THANKS... THAT RIGHT SIDE WAS TROUBLING ME ALL DAY LONG.
dang couple weeks late on the ease of that passenger side, lol. Great Vids man.
Does the driver side have that little flap too ?! As in the driver side without having to take the whole housing out?!
+Omar Hernandez Yes it does. However, there is the air resonator chamber behind it and you can't access the bulb.
Any easy way to adjust the beam UP? I found the adjustment screw and it only moves the light slightly. Mine are not aligned. I was hoping to raise them up some. Perhaps a few washers on the two screws to pull the bottom out a little assuming the top clips and tab stay in tight? Thanks!
Excellent. Thank you so much. I would have never figured that out.
Wow thatnk you so much now if i get the ddm 35 h8 for the fog do i need the relay
That is upto you. It will work without it but it can hurt to use the relay harness.
Your car is so clean
I have a 2015 accord sedan sport, I know the bulb size for low beam is h11; but the fog is it either h11 or h8; and yes I will be using a ballest box. Thanks
Roger Petroche You are correct. For all 2013 -2015 Honda Accord (without the stock led projector headlights).. low beam is H11 and fog is H8
What lightbulb type does it use ?
Thank you for your video, it really helps me a lot
thanks for making this video, it was very helpful.
What if I dont get the fog light trim screw back in??
If you were to recommend any LED h8 FOG lights from ddm tuning, would you be able to link the one you think is good enough? I am currently running the DDM HID Kit 35W 5000k for low beams. Looking to match the color. Do you also think 6000k is going to show more bluer than the 5000k?
6k will have be more blue than 5K. Unless you are going to install HID for the fogs. it really doesn't matter where you purchase the LED bulbs from. You want to stick with 5K HID and purcahse any h8/h11 led bulb such as these: amzn.to/2oDZRoo
The 6K LED is closer match to 5K hid.
thanks brotha you a big ol' help
This is just crazy to change one light bulb...you actually have to disassembly the light???
This is super easy, all you need is a screwdriver
i am going to get a HID kit for fogs on 2015 sedan installed. I was told and got 8000k installed hid kit on my regulars. Do i need to match on fog also or would 6000k be ok? Also, do they to take off bumper to install the fog light kit? Thanks
kids29 They do not need to remove the bumper to install HID on the fogs. You can get whatever kelvin rating you want. I do not suggest getting anything higher than 6k. The high the kelvin the less light output.
What bulb do you replace with? I’d like to buy snd have ready instead of taking the old one out to know what to buy.
If you want to replace it with the same halogen bulb then you need to get a H8 halogen bulb. If you want to install LED then you can get these: amzn.to/2zoFTYc
Saved me bare trouble, respects
Hi! Can you show us how to remove that push up screw underneath so that we dont to remove the housing on the fog lights? Appreciate it..
enad vidal Same process as shown here: ua-cam.com/video/epGZhY9MoXI/v-deo.html
What is a better choice for the Fog Light Replacement? LED or HID?
Silva Hawk If I have the sedan. I would have done HID. For the coupe.. I like the xbled fogs.
Already ordered one of these for my sedan
www.enlightauto.com/collections/enlight-your-2013-honda-accord-sedan/products/tetraflux-ultra-bright-led-fog-lights-h8-h11-h16
Probably too late for me to change now
I'd do LEDs they produce less heat in that small housing and won't yellow the plastic as much because of it
Liking your videos bro!
Hi can you do a tutorial on how to replace a fog light bulb on a Honda CR-V 2015 ex-l..thank you!
+Dioel Lazarito I don't have access the the 2015 CR-V. However, here is a PDF instruction on how to change it. It is listed on the very last page. All you need to do is remove a bolt and 1 clip on the splash shield under the vehicle and you will have access to the foglight socket: www.handa-accessories.com/crv/15fog.pdf
+DIY: Car Modz THANK YOU I APPRECIATE IT👍
just purchased a'15 accord ex, how do you turn on the fog lights? or do they just come on automatic?
+MrRg602 It is located on the same lever as the headlight switch. The headlight switch in which you turn to turn on your headlight is located at the end of the left stalk. Now if you move your hand a little inward towards the steering wheel.. you will notice a "dial" in the same lever... you flip that dial to turn on your fog lights.
+DIY: Car Modz thanks boss...got it. i found it..appreciate the help..it was right in front of me the whole time.
Nice! I'll be performing this soon! Perfect timing!
Hey how did you take out this clips under the car? What tool do you have to use to remove it to get to the headlights? Cause I cant take them out
There are a lot of clip pry tools on amazon for cheap
Pro tip:
You can leave the under Phillips screws loose so that you can do all of the services from the front in the future without having to go under the car
So can the drivers side be installed like passenger side, Without taking the housing out?
The airbag is under the drivers side unfortunately
Hello ! I have a question there is a specific screwdriver for this because I have tried a lot of times with so many screwdrivers and they don’t fit in the screw 😔
I used a #2 Phillips 8" long and it fit fine
How did you get your accord on the ramps without scraping the front end? I have rhino ramps.
PaulBeFunny This was done at the customer's driveway. I'm not sure what kind of ramp he used but the car was already up on the ramps when I arrived.
Mine slightly rubs on my race ramps
It seems the passenger drove up the incline of the driveway to have a better angle
Damn you just made my life so much easier
Helped a lot. Thanks
Hi, which gas have you put in your Honda? I have been putting 89, someone told me I have wasted my money. should I switch to 87 or keep putting 89??
All it requires is top tier gas. However, I also put 89. The gasoline company does not make a 89 blend. its just a mix of 87 and 91. I'm blessed to be able to afford spending the extra $1 to $1.20 per gas fill up using 89 every 2 -3 weeks or so.
I see, thx. your videos are really helpful man . I have changed my fog lights, low beams, and air filter. I learned how to change it from your videos. thx for the good posts!
Can somebody sent me a link where I can buy the exact clit he remote for the passenger side, I had bought a lot different in the pass but can’t not find those
I wanna replace those dim fog light lightbulbs I want to get yellow HID, you know where I can get them?
Christian Iniguez You can find them at many online retail store.. just google 3000k H8 Hid Kit.
I have a link on my video for the ones I used, they're the brightest yellow fogs I've found and have a warranty
Hi, any link on how to install a Fog Light Kit for my 9thgen sedan?
JMCBautista www.handa-accessories.com/accord/13FOGLIGHTS4DOOR.pdf
Great video. Made it easy
Can you show how to install an amp and sub. on a 2014 Honda Accord?! Pleeeeease! :)
Is h11 bulb the same size as h8 bulb?
For led and hid it is. not for halogen bulb. But again. why not just buy an bulb labeled h8 regardless if it is the same or not. Unless of course you have a spare h11 bulb and want to use that for the fogs.
I want to put hids what bulb from ddm would I need for the fog lights
***** H8
Any resistors required?
+Eric Al Resistors are only required for turn signals.
Can't you just do the same thing on the driver side like you did on the passenger by just going underneath the car to replace the fog light bulbs?
you can't because there is the air resonator box right there. I've tried....
You can however, access it through the fender well as well.
Very helpful! Thank you!
Works on 2015 too?
+CramDgreat yes
Can't you do the driver side the same way you did the passenger side? It looks like it has the same clips you can remove and then slide your hand in behind it.
+Steven Smith Can't access it the same way on the driveside... There is an air box resonator that gets in the way on the drive side.
Ahh I see, thanks. I just bought some 30w cree led's for my foglights. I hope they look great once I get them installed.
+Steven Smith how did the 30w cree led's for the fogs turn out?
Ryan Strong they're amazing! I just drove to work this morning and the fog was horrible. Helped visibility for sure and not mention they look awesome! I also bought a set for my high beam/drl and they look great also.
+Steven Smith do you happen to have a link on which fogs you bought?
How do I aim my Fog lights? Mine are aimed way too high
Jonathan Lopez There is a open slot located under the fog light assembly. It is not the same hole as the one with the screw. Look underneat at far right side (driver) and far left side (passenger side) of the assembly, you will see an open slot where you insert a long screwdriver to adjust and aim the fog lights.
Your the best! Thanks man was looking all over!
DIY: Car Modz
Ok So I did what You said and was rotating but I couldnt see a difference is there any number of rotations you have to do? I rotated to the right and left countless times and it never stopped rotating but still saw no difference in output....the fogs are lighting up the wall higher than my headlights
It's the first time that you showed your face in your video at 12 seconds~
You should be able to see me in some of my older videos. I shoot and record the videos myself so it is difficult to be in front of the camera and record at the same time. I'm saving for a DSLR that has a flip screen so I can see what I'm recording while not behind the camera.
Great video!!
Jeff - Anyone try to convert the 2013-2015 Honda Accord foglights to the circle/oval style?
Not that I know of. I know people have installed 2016 2017 sedan fogs on a 2013 - 2015 sedan but not use a coupe for the sedan. The dimension and cutout is completely different. You probably can make it work by swapping out the front bumper with a coupe. That was done before for 6thgenaccord.
@Justin Kim turn to page 516 on your owners manual. It will show you have to remove a similar clip. All you really need is a slotted screw driver. However, I highly suggest you pick up the trim removal tool: Something like this.. www.amazon.com/Lisle-35260-Plastic-Fastener-Remover/dp/B0002SRCMO/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1420260758&sr=8-6&keywords=trim+removal+tool or this www.amazon.com/ABN-Premium-Auto-Trim-Removal/dp/B00KQPJSVQ/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1420260758&sr=8-7&keywords=trim+removal+tool
Thanks man!
we have auto fog lamp for honda accord 2013
2013 is the same as 2014. "auto fog lamp".. are you referring to your DRL lights? The lights that turn on with your car and goes off when you turn on you low beam?
sir we can produce auto fog lamp for honda accord 2013.we are auto fog lamp manufacture.
Or thats only for 55w ?
you should show the finished product at the end of the video!
This video is a DIY on how to remove and replace the fog light bulb. This video is not a how to video on led or hid foglight bulb upgrade video. If you want to see that.. check here: 2013 2014 Honda Accord Coupe Stock foglight bulb output and here: H8 30W CREE LED Fog Light on 2013 Honda Accord Coupe
very helpful homie
more vids on accord sport sedan!
hemipwr321 The videos for the coupe and sedan are pretty much the same. If you have any thing specific you want to see let me know.
VERY NICE THANK YOU.
Appreciate the know how.
This is awesome but i dont have a jack
If you do now own a jack or a ramp... You should be able to access the bulbs by pulling back the fender liner.
Drive up a driveway or incline 👍
I show it in the beginning of my video
Gives you enough space to slide under
Thanks!
my clips wouldnt unclip on the left side
ua-cam.com/video/epGZhY9MoXI/v-deo.html
+DIY: Car Modz i watched the end of the video and was like wow. i just assumed both sides would be the same.
@@kingofkickass1 Give it a little tug or yank a bit through that little hole, or slide a plastic tool under the black fog light cover to give you space to slide your fingers in to pull
@@Striker50_ bro this was 5 years ago
@@kingofkickass1 You never know who might be reading your comment in the future 😏
Just made a vid on this too so was doing research 🤙
Good shit thanks
Thanks for the video had to take out a stripped bolt to find out they glued it shut fuck
Good
Now I understand why my local Honda dealer quoted me $80 to replace a fog light bulb lol
Are you serious! Dang ripoffs, this takes about 5 minutes once you do it once and all you really need is a Phillips screwdriver and a flathead
Thanks!!
I'm planning on buying these for my 2015 honda accord sport:
www.ddmtuning.com/Products/H8-15x2323LED.W.H8-15-x-2323-LED-White
Do I NOT need a ballast for the fog lights ? Just the bulb?
Thanks a lot for your videos
Yes, those are straight plug and play. No ballast required. Simple remove the stock bulb and replace it that led bulb.
Dealerrt trying to charge 200
You're kidding...
Then again they tried charging me $20 for the $1 key fob battery that takes 30 seconds to replace
Am i the only asshole that just sticks my hand back there, unhooks the harness, and twists and pulls the bulb out? I have small hands but i havnt seen one video that does it that way
For the passenger side you can, driver side is blocked
The damm screw won't go back in. Smh
Which screw?
I've been driving for years with just 1 screw just fine
Dam you japaaaannn
Helped a lot. Thanks
Very helpful. Thank you.
