Anya Taylor-Joy and Chris Hemsworth star in Academy Award-winning mastermind George Miller’s “Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga,” the much-anticipated return to the iconic dystopian world he created more than 30 years ago with the seminal “Mad Max” films. Miller now turns the page again with an all-new original, standalone action adventure that will reveal the origins of the powerhouse character from the multiple Oscar-winning global smash “Mad Max: Fury Road.” The new feature from Warner Bros. Pictures and Village Roadshow Pictures is produced by Miller and his longtime partner, Oscar-nominated producer Doug Mitchell (“Mad Max: Fury Road,” “Babe”), under their Australian-based Kennedy Miller Mitchell banner.
As the world fell, young Furiosa is snatched from the Green Place of Many Mothers and falls into the hands of a great Biker Horde led by the Warlord Dementus. Sweeping through the Wasteland, they come across the Citadel presided over by The Immortan Joe. While the two Tyrants war for dominance, Furiosa must survive many trials as she puts together the means to find her way home.
Taylor-Joy stars in the title role, and along with Hemsworth, the film also stars Alyla Browne and Tom Burke.
Miller penned the script with “Mad Max: Fury Road” co-writer Nico Lathouris. Miller’s behind-the-scenes creative team includes first assistant director PJ Voeten and second unit director and stunt coordinator Guy Norris, director of photography Simon Duggan (“Hacksaw Ridge,” “The Great Gatsby”), composer Tom Holkenborg, sound designer Robert Mackenzie, editor Eliot Knapman, visual effects supervisor Andrew Jackson and colorist Eric Whipp. The team also includes other longtime collaborators: production designer Colin Gibson, editor Margaret Sixel, sound mixer Ben Osmo, costume designer Jenny Beavan and makeup designer Lesley Vanderwalt, each of whom won an Oscar for their work on “Mad Max: Fury Road.”

5 max films and no animals with Mounted weapons. Even damnation alley had giant animals that posed a threat down to bugs
You just recently saw Anya Taylor Joy in The Menu.
And also in the Viking movie The Northman
she was in the horror flick the VVItch
Split...The Queen's Gambit...that woman is amazing in everything
She looks more the part than I was anticipating. The CGI polish over the film looks a little strong at times, but I know the movie will be a gosh darn romp! It's just a trailer overall (a pretty darn cool one, at that).
I notice this with other movies as well. Movies shot during Covid have an offness with their CGI...
Sometimes this is due to these trailers being released before all of the post-production is done. I'd wait for the final release to make a final judgement.
Took me a second to recognize Hemsworth, until he spoke.
The first movie i remember seeing Anya Taylor joy in was Split the middle film between Unbreakable and Glass. She was also in the Netflix series The Queen's Gambit.
Three men of culture, i see. Good to know you guys are deep into the lore as well.
The old man inside the cage with child furiosa has his skin tattooed like ms giddy from the first movie. So he is a history man; he keeps track of historical events, and his very skin is a like history book. And since he looks older than 45 years old, he was alive long before the downfall of civilization. He could be the first history man, the man who says the quote that appears at the end of the first movie.
The swaddle dog, which is furiosa’s clan, seems to be running in the green place fully dressed in old world clothes and with a horse. We never see animals, let alone horses in the wastelands.
I call the feeling we get from witnessing the creativity of George miller as “the sense of wonder”. It’s the contrast and harmony of different ideas that tickles the brain, just like poetry. His movies are badass visual poems. He’s clashing of history with our present all the time in these movies. The bad ass vehicle of old times “chariot” driven by a bad ass vehicle of the present “motorbike”. The martial music of the past mixed with the bad ass metal of the present. The old weapon spear with the present weapon grenades. His world feels lived on because the details are there, whether you see it or not.
That’s not child furiosa in that cage
The only problem is the movie's intro: "45 years after the collapse, a young Furiosa is taken from her family".
So if Mad Max was a young cop during the collapse, how is he still young when he meets adult Furiosa?
Doesn't make sense, by that math he would be around 80years old
Fist of the north star,while being a mad max rip off, did that before then so maybe they're taking cues from that or got the idea from one of the many Italian knock offs

That first shot of Hemsworth just makes me cackle! I can't wait to see what Miller brings out of him. I think this looks like an epic win all around. Can't wait to hear the Warboys 'Witness'
This trailer may have reaffirmed something. Furiosa wasn't always under Imorten Joe. Is it possible Imorten Joe may have been her savior before turning into a villian? 😮
I think if worse comes to worse, she has nowhere left to go and she is forced to take sanctuary there. Taking it a little farther, her saying her name is Furiosa might be telling the guys that control the elevator platform in Immortan Joe’s base to let her up.
This looks pretty epic and can’t blame Mason Quinn for seeing it in theaters haha

Oak mentiong the good ole "dollar theaters" just reminded me of all the fun we had going to those while also reminding me im getting old. Lol. This gen never got to experience saving few bucks that way & the fact we even have to explain what those theaters even were just shows us even more how old we've become. This movie looks like a must watch for sure!! I'm pumped!!!
There used to be a second run theater in my small city, right up to a few months before the pandemic hit. They managed to get the movies about a month after they were released (I think it was still less than $5 a ticket by its end). Saw Fury Road 3 times there, each time with different friends. It was awesome.

I guess the trailer gave away the final shot of the movie.
Remember Fury Road's final shot with Furiosa looking down at the crowd and Max as she was on the lifting platform.
Here in the new trailer a very similiar shot right at the end with short haired and full geared Furiosa as we know from Fury Road.
We had two $1.50 theaters here when I was a kid and over the summers my friends and I would all go with someone’s mom to the theater nearly every weekend. Sad to see those go.

I haven't gone to a theater in ages, but I'm shelling out for IMAX for this one. Anything with George Miller's name on it these days--Fury Road was a masterpiece.
Now that you're in the Anya train you should really see The Queen's Gambit for the channel.
I think it’s interesting that in fury road Furiosa is wearing the same gauzy white fabric that the wives are wearing, albeit tucked behind a war boy’s leather gear, which made me think in her backstory she was a wife initially, maybe until she lost her arm and wasn’t as attractive anymore, at least by Joe’s gross standards. I think I caught a glimpse of that fabric in that last shot of this trailer-Miller is so conscious of details that it can’t be an accident, so I’m super curious now as to what that detail of her costume means.

I knew Oak was gonna love the tires on that Monster Truck 😂... Still cracks me up when Oak was doing the breakdown of the tires during The Batman reaction. Movie looks epic! Great stuff gentleman!

So hyped for this, I have not watched the old ones but i went into Fury Road with no expectations and it blew me away. It became one of my favorite movies and i am not too much into action or driving movies. But this was something different. It's in my top 5 movie franchises.

It looks good, but one thing I hope they enhance is the weather / atmosphere. Compared to the last movie, the sky feels too happy and the air feels too clear. Unless there is a reason they made the setting look so polished and peaceful, a sandstorm or two would be nice.
for some reason, i got the opposite feeling, i'm loving the 'clean' look to it, I suppose the world becomes more 'wear and tear' in Fury Road, but this feels refreshing to me in a weird way
That was my problem too. It's probably why I prefer the black and chrome version. The colorized version was exactly that and the cg helicopter shot of the dessert reminded me of early veggietales
Looks great! They did Hemsworth like they did to Colin Farrell in The Batman.
It seems to me Hemsworth is playing the big fat Gas Town leader from Fury Road. Unless he dies in this movie of course. Fake nose and elegant dress are what make me think that.

I am absolutely hyped! I'm not much of a fan of the classic Mad Max films, but I loved Mad Max: Fury Road. And to get a backstory to one of the most badass women in cinema is so exciting. I'm sure Anya Taylor-Joy is going to crush this roll

Mason quinn is the best man!! Always so invested in everything he watches, all the boys are ofcoarse! But masons attitude towards every single movie or series they watch is always so positive. Hes Always super interested in everything, even better its not forced. Not a single Mad Max movie except maybe the first one focus on him, it's kind of the point. And Miller said from the start that he wanted to do a Furiosa movie. Maybe in 5 years or so?

Oh! Come on guys! Let's be honest, the trailer is disappointing!!!!! First and foremost, the aesthetic is horrible! 👎 All CGI and it shows a lot. If the masterpiece of "Fury Road" stood out for something, it was because of the wonderful practical effects that evidently don't exist in this trailer. Second, everything is fine with this actress but "Furiosa" is Charlize Theron. This girl is not even close to her in terms of character strength. I hope it's not a failure because "Fury Road" is perfection, and this looks like a low-budget movie or a video game. A shame for "Mad Max" fans. And from what I saw in the comments of the trailer, in the different languages, everyone is complaining about the obvious excessive CGI they used and that makes it horrible! 🤷🏻♀️😔
The CGI is very noticeable in Fury Road, more so in its trailers. And although this is just a teaser, it's very clear that ATJ's Furiosa is pretty tough.
@@brotherjohnnyxXxX I don't agree that ATJ is good for the role. It's also almost irrelevant compared to the fact that the CGI is extremely evident. And it is not true that in "Fury Road" it is more noticeable. Not only is excellent but also it's minimal. In "Fury Road" "practical effects" prevail, which are of excellent quality. Also, this is not just my opinion, but that of the vast majority of people who comment on the trailer, whether in English or Spanish. Many say that the film will be a failure, I hope not, because I love this saga. But really what they have shown us so far is very bad.
@@karinag.752 I thought the same thing when I first saw the Fury Road trailer, my guess is that they were still working on the CGI. Same thing could be happening now. Although the use of CGI is very minimal - Fury Road - it still is very noticeable. And since this is just a teaser, you don't really know that the practical effects won't prevail.
