Lyrics :
Seems I got to have a change of scene
Cause every night I have the strangest dream
Imprisoned by the way,it could have been
Left here on my own or so it seems
I got to leave before I start to scream
But someone's locked the door and took the key
Chorus :
Feelin' alright, (uh oh)
I'm not feelin' good myself enough, (uh oh)
Well,feelin' alright, (uh oh)
Well,I'm Not feelin' good myself,(uh oh)
Boy you sure took me for one big ride
Even now I sit and I wonder why
And when I think of you I stop myself from cryin'
I Just can't waste my time I must get by
I got to stop belivin' in all your lies
Because there's too much to do before I die
Well,
Feelin' alright, (uh oh)
I'm not feelin' good myself, baby, (uh oh)
Feelin' ooooo,(uh oh)
I'm not feelin' good myself, (uh oh)
Piano Solo :
Intro Part :
Don't you get too lost in all I say
But at the time you know I really felt that way
Cauze I said that was then and now you know it's today
I can't escape I guess I'm here to stay now
Just until someone comes along and take my place
With a different name and a different face
Chorus with ad libs then fade
Two greats, Joe and Leon. ❤❤
One of the greatest here.Joe Cocker belting it out AND Leon Russell playing guitar and it just cant get much better! Takes me back to happier times and that's a good thing!
Indeed…! Some of the best times ever. Listening to the “Mad Dog and Englishman’s” album with my buddies, sitting around with our guitars….DAMN..those were GREAT TIMES..Thanks for the memories….!
Oh my goodness I missed such concert 😭Wow! La creme du rock💕Joe Cocker, Leo and the Saxo guy 💕✨💕✨I’ve watched this video thousands of times 😂
Agreed!
yes indeed!!!
exactly!!!!
What a version of this song! Leon Russel, Chris Stainton, Jim Gordon, Carl Radle and of course Joe Cocker on vocals, INCREDIBLE BAND. What a GROOVE
Stainton has been a great keyboard player since ..... well, forever.
our generation...babbby yeah
Joe never played with Leon again after this but they sure made Magic for a minute
Jim Gordon AND Jim Keltner on drums. Wow.
And a generous pinch of Bobby Keys....
Fell in love with him at age 14 in 1969. Saw him at a concert at Soldier Field. Saw him throughout my life. His poster above my bed. Woo hoo. Adored this man his music and lyrics. The best.
Wow I grew up with this stuff too thanks to Mom, You are so lucky to have seen him with the Grease Band in 69. I was only 8 in 69 but have all the memories.
@@joannah1477 most of the lyrics were not his. Love him. Hung out with him.
@@susanedrington4878 really. And whose were they?
The voice, the soul, the herky jerky movements, man, I just love me some Joe. This is real music, when talent and ability counted. Its sad to think Joe would not make it today in the corporate sanitized music world. Glad I grew up in the 60’s.
I also grew up in the 60's and I agree with you totally. I did manage to finally see him in London later in his career and loved it. His version of "Whiter Shade of Pale" was magnificent. My sister and I had his first album when we were in high school - still love his songs "Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood", "Sandpaper Cadillac" and "Do I Still Figure In Your Life" - can never forget them.
This "good old days" mentality happens each generation, regardless of the quality of the music. What such commenters are lamenting is not the lost music, but their lost youth.
@@johntechwriter you are absolutely correct. When I listen to the music of my past it takes me back to those days, conjures up happy, and sometimes, sad memories. We mostly view our youth as full of happiness and the music of the time adds the themes. Still doesn’t change the fact music was better then. It is what we heard in our formative years that influences us throughout life. Good comment by you.
@@roberthickerty390every generation has its great music and its WTF music. I grew up listening to Joe Crocker, Dusty Springfield and Aretha Franklin. I'm also listening to modern groups like Durand Jones and the Indications, Ghost Hounds, and Nightwish just to name a few. We have more ways to access good music than we've ever had, and if you're judging today's music by what is readily available rather than using the tools available, well no wonder you're feeling melancholic. Good music is still here waiting for you to find it. Have a great day 😊🎶.
@@geminigrrl66 it is not so much that there is not as much good music it is rather the lack of individualism. I myself like Nightwish and a lot of the younger blues artist are great but innovative groups like these don’t get on the radio much or onto Spotify like recommend lists. I am sure there were guys my age in the 60’s complaining about the new music and how they just didn’t have talent like Benny Goodman or Artie Shaw. My main complaint is the corporate nature of music now. Also, could you imagine Joe Cocker, Bob Dylan or Rod Stewart trying out on American Idol?
The “Mad Dog and Englishman’s” album is one of my lifetime favorites. So much energy, so much groove.
One of my first albums.
@@mr.d8214 Pour moi aussi, énorme!
I bought it after I saw the movie.
Saw them live at the Fillmore. Best show ever.
@@ecobuilder508 Lucky.
I have friends who don't like Joe and his flailing around, but for me it is the best part of his performance, to get really into the song he is expressing the guitar, piano, drums, playing with his hands and body movements, and the groans of agony that we humans experience "you sure took me for one bad ride, even now I sit and wonder why" Never be another like Joe!
He felt it everytime performed, this is his probably his best band but was great with the fusion jazz band stuff in the late 70s
He is the essence of the 60;s and some of the 70's with the "flailing" around. He's a free man. He doesn't care what anyone thinks. He allows himself to feel everything and express it all. He's free where it counts -- in spirit.
He had synesthesia, which occurs when someone translates one sense into another sensory experience. In music, a person more typically would say they really saw colors or images when they hear the music, especially if they closed their eyes. Cocker’s version converted it into a physical, feeling sense.
@@HughCorbyCruick I had that synth... that snyth ...that thing that you said in the 1970s.
Every time I dropped acid.
@@stephenpain9236 You therefore had drug-induced synesthesia.
Real singer, Real musicians, playing REAL music. It was so great to listen again again to this. Loved watching the video. Joe has the wild eyes as he pulls every note from his throat and the jerky conducting moves is so classic.
With Bobby Keyes, best sax player, Leon Russell and Chris Staiton on piano, OMG
l agree with you, indeed Joe Cocker is a great and
talented artist who's songs never goes out of style,
he's one of my favorites artist, he's songs still and
always heals the Soul, I pray God gives you lot of
beautiful days.
hello pat how are you doing i hope you are doing good
You gotta love Joe......and this was a KICK ASS band with Leon and those incredible background singers.....why this man is not in the rock and roll hall of fame is beyond me
Long overdue. Totally deserving. True rocker with numerous masterpiece covers. headCases @ Hall of Shame have zero credibility like piss poor Oscars. Both organisations just trash themselves with idiotic decisions and are past their 'use by' date.
Já está.
Rock ‘n’ roll hall of fame sucks anyway
Right, nice one camera man, not one single shot of the Space Choir..........................
best version of this song WAS DONE BY RARE EARTH!!!!!!!!
How is this guy not in the Rock and roll hall of fame ?
Hard to believe that he is not!
The Hall of Fame should be trying to get into Joe's world, not the other way around.
Jann Wenner
Cause it's crap? Go rnr Dolly....l
Smh
BECAUSE DRUGS, DEMENT, PARKINSON,,,,,,,
Joe Cocker had the ability to take any song and make it his own. Did it with so many, including the Beatles, Randy Newman, Traffic, and others. Gone too soon.
Hahhah! I forgot how great Joe Cocker was, Thanks for posting this.
Simple two chord song. Nothing terribly fancy going on there What a groove !!
This was some concert Joe Cocker singing and Leon Russell on piano and guitar. Miss the 70's. Getting old sucks.
l agree with you, indeed Joe Cocker is a great and
talented artist who's songs never goes out of style,
he's one of my favorites artist, he's songs still and
always heals the Soul, I pray God gives you lot of
beautiful days.
hello suz how are you doing i hope you are doing good
I have seen Joe Cocker live several times over the decades and I never was disappointed. What a singer. Always delivered. And always accompanied by great musicians, especially on keys!
Always on Time and on Pitch...every time!!!
Truly one of the best grooves of any song in my lifetime. In my top ten that I just have to get up and dance to! The recent version by Dave Mason is also TOP!!
this band is just alive with life, just cant find old school anymore and the new music is border line crap, all produced to death , just to market and make cash, this is life and artistry love it.
He felt, lived it . Thanks to his visual I felt it too. God bless him.
I love Traffic, but this version Is really outstanding
This is the secret to a great cover- you take a good song and you MAKE IT YOUR OWN!.
Dude was such a talent. RIP Joe...we all miss you.
When Cocker began to sing a spirit takes possession of him and you got something more than human.
great keyboard
l agree with you, indeed joe cocker is a great and talented artist who's songs never goes out of style,he's one of my favorites artist, he's songs still and always heals the Soul, I pray God gives you lot of beautiful days🙏🙏🙏
This is how a real band should play!!! Every component is talented and spot on. Excellent combination of instrumentals.
joe cocker is a Portal.. the true meaning of " Feeling the music " . love this guy ~
And performed also by magnificent artists, God Bless Them All !!!
There’s my old band mate ‘Don Preston’ playing guitar and singing. He was with Leon’s group for years. A nice guy and a phenomenal talent…
I feel sorry for any vocalist whose hit song is covered by Joe Cocker. Because from the delivery of the first line, that song is HIS.
The Beatles got paid every time they played Joe’s version of With A Little Help FMF.
He sure did; phenomenal talent.
He was one of them artists…all the while complimenting the original
Beatles songs being done used to be my worst nightmare, but hearing Joe Cocker doing them I'm good! ❤
Still like Traffic's original better.
Joe Cocker is terrific my husband who’s English says he is one of a kind !
No one seems to mention Leon's Brilliance with the Guitar... His Unparalleled Music/ Songwriting sencablity is on Fire in Feeling Alright with The Mad Dogs
For real leon russel ❤❤❤❤❤❤have seen him in essen with invaluds on stage joe doing his spastic hair..😊❤❤❤❤
Leon was probably the most under-rated musician of all time.. People in the business knew and respected his work, but most of his career was spent making other artist's sound a lot better...
And the piano!
Leon is amazing what a man WOW love him❤😊❤
Elton's wet dream.
One of my life's fantasies is to have been a back-up singer for one of these Joe Cocker & Leon Russell revues, like the greatest honkytonk party ever!
Dave Mason composed this song with Traffic. All this version has is Chris Stainton, Leon Russel, Bobby Keys playing with Joe Cocker singing lead vocals and Rita Coolidge, etc. singing back-up. Amazing. Why don't we have talent like this anymore?
The drummer Jim Gordon murdered his mom.
Ah, Traffic! Dear mister Fantasy was an iconic album!
@@VictorRochaGaming Two great drummers; along with Jim Gordon there was Jim Keltner too
Oh. I was wondering who the great piano player was; I didn't recognize him since I've only seen Stainton as an old (but still great) guy.
Carl Radle and Jim Gordon from the dominoes. Greatest stage band ever assembled.
WOW -that is a young Joe Cocker
Still sounds as FRESH as Ever!! 💃🏻 Still makes my body move & groove! Play it and I'll shake it.
🪘🥁🎷🎸🎙
The best version of this song I have heard.
Leon and Chris are just killer here. Of course they are all excellent!
Leon Russel and Joe Cocker, I still listen to them regularly. This is fantastic.
Great voice. Perfect phrasing and time. One of the best.
So hip. So funky. Decades later, and this track still puts a foot in my ass. Figuratively speaking, of course. Joe was like no other.
Turned one step next to the four-score age today and "not filling too good myself..." I love this song and Joe (RIP friend) wails my feelings every A-FIB beat of my heart.
l agree with you, indeed joe cocker is a great and talented artist who's songs never goes out of style,he's one of my favorites artist, he's songs still and always heals the Soul, I pray God gives you lot of beautiful days🙏🙏🙏🙏
One of the best pieces of rock music ever...❤
He may not be the greatest dancer, but he is one of the greatest singers, backed by one of the greatest bands and choir. RIP Leon Russell and Joe Cocker
greatest rock and roll voice
🎼 Mr Joe Cocker Fantastic! From Cucuta city in Colombia 🇨🇴 South America
Leon Russell in this video as well.
He was one of my childhood musical heros, Leon
This is the music that revitalizes a stagnant soul.
Spectacular!
Saw him back in the early 80's in Adelaide South Australia. I spotted a cute little hippy chick, who happened to end up my wife of nearly 37 year. Still going strong. Thank Joe!
Blessings and kindest regards David from Australia.

🙄☝️
Looooove it!!! 😁💕✨💕💕Joe Cocker forever ❤💫
Wonderful, amazing. I love this guy
Some of the best music of the day!
Le corre la música por las venas, trasmite mucho yo lo he visto dos veces en directo ,q privilegio

Joe Cocker sempre será um deus da música. Sua voz e enrrgia são inesquecíveis. Matavilhoso ser humano
Saw this tour in movie around mid-70's (as far as I remember), and it was (and still is) simply WOW!!! ❤
Que cantor , que banda , que back vocals. Que show memorável . Quanto talento e genialidade musical juntos. Obra prima do rock/blues.
Verdade.
to be on a plane as high as these 2 guys were in there prime and be able to function at such a superb set and i dont care what anybody says aint nobody as cool as mr leon was nobody
I do believe that is Carl Radle on Bass. Remember him with Gary Lewis and the Playboys. What a phenominal bassist. Died way too young!
Yes, that is The Great CARL RADLE.....the ubiquitous Carl Radle..... one of the best bass players in the history of "real"rock
Yes, very sad about Carls early demise; know it bothered Leon terribly. He was also phenomenal with the Concert for Bangladesh with George Harrison and Leon.
Back in the Day my Pop's who was primarily a jazz Cat, loved Koe and this song. He got off on his soul and his feeling. Man my Pop's dug all my records, Jimi, Sly, Cream, the Beatles, Marley. 😂
Good times!
The best rhythm section in rock & then they bring in the legendary Bobby Keys
Nicky Barclay (just before she joined the awesome rock band Fanny) playing amazing funky keys and not getting enough props here. God I love her.
I saw Joe live only one time. Shortly before he passed away. He opened for Steve Miller that night. What an incredible evening. So thankful for the opportunity to see him before he passed. I can only imagine how great he was back then!
Even Leon is smiling!! ❤
I always find it interesting to see what vocalists do during that portion of the song when the instrumentalists take the lead. Joe's hand motions are unique.
It beats the singers of today
l agree with you, indeed joe cocker is a great and talented artist who's songs never goes out of style,he's one of my favorites artist, he's songs still and always heals the Soul, I pray God gives you lot of beautiful days🙏🙏🙏
the song I put on at our parties when I say time to really get down..and start dancing....feeling alright....
Sensacional!Maravilhos0!
I was so very lucky in my generation I got to see firsthand the movie Mad dogs and Englishmen. It was a terrific movie. I enjoyed it thoroughly.
And, of course, Joe Cocker man he was terrific
True communion! This is the way it was done. No auto-tuners or lip syncing ! Bravo
Saw Joe at Festival Hall, Melbourne, Australia the night before he was deported for having possession of a joint. This is one of his classic live songs that never failed to have the room a rockin, great soul man. Best times were with Leon Russell no doubt.
Painful to watch 'wasted' Joe, just show how much tolerance the body has towards destruction, wanting to live. Besides Woodstock, this is the best. thanks- Glad Cocker made it into old age
then you can’t watch 75% of the bands from the 60’s and 70’s.
This was MUSIC!!!!!! Also, I think all those movements are him feeling every note of every instrument (including backup vocals).
❤🔥GREAT FOOTAGE ! ❤🔥Don't make 'm anymore, but that's allright. Thank you for sharing.
In 1970 some friends would imitate Joe Cocker. Great nostalgia!
Is that when this is from?
l agree with you, indeed joe cocker is a great and talented artist who's songs never goes out of style,he's one of my favorites artist, he's songs still and always heals the Soul, I pray God gives you lot of beautiful days🙏🙏🙏🙏
Chris Stainton (not credited) does the job, fantastic piano player !
I watch this video for 1 reason, Chris Stainton, nice to know somebody besides me remembers him
Gene Clauson Caught Joe, next tour after .MD&EM.....it was Joe Cocker and Chris Stainton and the All Stars. And yea they were.
G0K3001 never was much of a Cocker fan but I envy you getting to see Chris
..........."too much to do before I die"............ Profound statement.
Not many reasons to be proud of coming from Sheffield but Joe is one of them> Thank You Joe🙏
Such exuberance is just 😋
An extremely young Chris Stainton, who's still playing strong today, I think mainly for Eric Clspton, but has played session for so many more
Leon throws down some good riffs there & i recall that Mad Dogs & Englishmen was the first *Great* rockumentry/tour film i'd seen.still holds up to this day!
insanely good !
This should sent into space as record of funk we are.... match it...
leon jamming on the guitar, quite brilliantly.
Still amazing.🎶
A mi gusto y entender esta fue la mejor banda que acompaño a este genio y estaba rodeado de genios,León Russel,Don Preston etc ❤
Joe is the only vocalist I ever asked the question of, "Where the hell did that voices come from?" Netherworldly, would be a good way to describe his vocals.
Joe Cocker... From Woodstock Till Eternity.
Saw this movie when it was first released. Matinee show. There were probably only about 6 of us in the theater.
THE ONE AND ONLY ( JOE COCKER) 🎶💫🎶💫🎶💞
l agree with you, indeed joe cocker is a great and talented artist who's songs never goes out of style,he's one of my favorites artist, he's songs still and always heals the Soul, I pray God gives you lot of beautiful days🙏🙏🙏🙏
One for the Historical Audiovideo Books.
Those pipes! 🏆
Just a bunch of sweaty, stinkin' hippies. God it was fun back then! 😊
Loved Joe from the very beginning to the very end. Even now, this clip takes me back to the beginning. Like, it's all right; the Queen has died, & I'm not feelin' too good myself. It's all right, uh huh, feelin' the life grove, and gettin' on with more things I want to do before I die, Joe kickin' it still. Thanks AA for getting it on.
Ahh yes, the days of safe drugs and good music. How I miss you so
I ben there and done that in the 74 years on the planet the music of my generation is hard to beat RIP Joe rock on.
So glad to be from Tulsa, all this & more! Thanks Leon for my house!
There are certain songs that just "make you move". Well, this is one of them!!!
KMOD 1974. Leon Russell's somewhere over the rainbow. Brought me here. The Church aka Leon Russells studio. Tour it if you ever get the chance...
Wow Nicky Hopkins on piano and Leon Russell on guitar and Joe on vocals what a great BAND.
That Chris Stainton on piano
