I volunteer with a program helps Ukrainians improve their English through conversation. That motivated me to try and learn some Ukrainian and it’s been great. Love these videos, the slow speaking is perfect for me!
for me, my reasons are number 7, 5 (my husband's family), 3, 2 and 1)) I greatly appreciate that you speak only Ukrainian in all of your videos -- it's very helpful for listening practice
That's fascinating that multiple reasons interwine! Thanks for sharing! I do speak only Ukrainian in the videos and I'm happy you appreciate it :) However, there will be an educative video soon where I speak English, please don't get disappointed!😊
Some of your seven reasons are true for myself, but my original trigger reasons were: 1) Knowing how to pronounce toponyms properly; 2) Being able to read UA news sources. #1 is largely completed, albeit with accent. #2 I'm still working on, but has been partly successful.
Before the full-scale invasion I thought it would be interesting to buy property in Ukraine and spend part of the year there, perhaps start a business. Now after the full-scale invasion started, I still think so. Understanding the language will help. Then, after the full-scale invasion started, and I learned that russia is suppressing Ukrainian culture, I started learning about Ukrainian culture including the language, on principle, as resistance. I would support Ukraine against russia even if Ukrainians had no personal appeal for me, but the more I learned about Ukrainians, the more I found them charming and delightful for a long list of reasons, and in the process I wanted to understand and support them better including those not fluent in English yet accessible on social media. In the process I made some Ukrainian friends online who are okay in English but more able to hear it than to speak it. So I can imagine that during a visit with one of my Ukrainian friends, I might speak English and she might speak Ukrainian and we would communicate better than if we just used one language, since understanding from hearing is much easier than speaking. Also, after Ukraine has defeated russia, there will probably be a lot of rebuilding in Ukraine, and potential miscommunication between the people giving the money and the people using the money, so as a requirements engineer professional who helps to improve interpersonal communication on IT projects, I figure I would be more helpful if I can understand the Ukrainian language better ... and learning the language while learning the culture is better yet, so I'm doing both.
I like videos in Ukrainian with subtitles. It would be cool if you could add subtitles in Ukrainian to the video as well (so they appear when clicking on the button in youtube), so that external tools can be used to read them.
The video has already the embedded Ukrainian subtitles, why do you need the additional Ukrainian subs in a separate file? I can do that, just wondering! If you could explain again😊
@@Ukrainian.Language Certain tools such as LingQ or Language Ractor allow the lookup of individual words. They operate by reading the subtitles of the video (the ones that yu get when you click on the subtitle icon on the bottom of the video). It also works with the automatic generated ones. But the automatically created ones do not have any dots or commas and contain errors which makes them annoying.
@@Ukrainian.Language I find the separate subs that Win-rz8kp mentioned useful too, for the same reasons. Also, it's nice to be able to turn the English subs off. I love your channel, Hanna! Thank you for making these wonderful videos!

This is the content that I need. Slow and easy words. Pls keep doing this.

I like this Ukrainian w/English subtitles. Thank you for this format. 🫡🇺🇦🙏🏽

Hey that's just awesome! :)
Good job!
Numbers 4 and 3, in my case :)
Я люблю вчити мови і тепер я тепер вчу українську мову. Я вирішила вчити українську, бо я хочу підтримати Україну.
вдячна за підтримку

@@Win-rz8kpOk, got you!
I'll try to do that for this video, otherwise all my other videos have subs and you can use them for now.
