Yep, some of the other guys called it in the comments. Your meter was reading in "nf" on the old capacitor. And "mf" on the new one. Very good call. Saved the customer a bundle. It always pays to be an honest technician. 😎👍
If a capactor reads high it is because it is internally leaking. The meter reads capacitance by timing how long it takes to charge. If it's leaky it will take longer to charge and show a false high reading.
I have just started watching your videos. I’m hoping to learn how to fix my Train package unit. Summer of last year the A/C went out. My neighbors worked dial one. He came over and got it working. Replace the capacitor and charge me 600 bucks. I think that was way out of line. So from now on I’ll see if I can’t fix it myself. I’m hopeful that I will learn from your videos how to DIY, thanks for putting it out there
Gd job! Can't count how many 2nd opinions I went on and found same scenario! Stay honest, charge a fair price and you'll have Customers 4 Life!
I really like you're videos as an hvac tech, really informative, and refreshing the mind
You were reading in the nano farad range on the old one.

new meter! 👍
Nice view. I think your meter had n f instead of u f. My hs36 does that.
That’s a great honest job!!!😀👍
I would have definitely checked that heat exchanger before I pronounced it all good.

Great job Nighthawk. Whoever was there before you was a rip off hack.
