  • We stumbled upon a very young fawn in our upper pasture. It was quite the surprise for the both of us! Mother deer will hide their newborn fawns in tall grasses during the daytime and loop up with them in the evening. After 1 week the fawn will typically stop bedding down in tall grasses and remain close to its mother. With this knowledge and the appearance of wobbly legs, we guessed that this little one is a week old or less. We did not touch the fawn or follow it once it hid in the woods, as we have a deep respect for nature and did not mean to interfere. We are thankful for this beautiful close-up encounter.
