She brings her worlds normality, the normality stemming from Simon, she is drawing the essence of her home universe to these others. The side effect being anti magic effects, which tend to be more dramatic, but also turning a more exaggerated post apocalypsy knife into a regular pre apocalypse knife, even if it isn't magic, it's just not a common item in her mundane universe.
Then I suggest Fionna to get back in her boring dimension and grab some normal classic weapons like a regular axe 🪓 from the fire department, a bigger and sharper knife from a butcher that sells meat in her town🔪 and maybe ask Hunter to make her a normal wooden 🏹 with arrows. What? Theses items exist in reality and they have a big potential to be good weapons. In world of warcraft classic starting weapons are simple like the ones from reality.
That made me wonder. What would happened if they used this anti magic on Betty/GOLB? Would Betty and GOLB just change back to their original versions or GOLB would end up in a new form?

Like, they aren't parents or some other overly domestic role type in the show and theyre very explicitely young adults in a relationship. Idk you don't really see that much I guess.
Yeah this is hella rare, especially in animation. Feminizing homosexuality has historically been the only way to get it syndicated. Steven Universe made all gems some level of effeminate, avatar paired off two female characters, same with adventure time even. Anime in general has no qualms about girl romances but you’ll rarely see a gay person as anything other than a quirky joke, much less a relationship. Marshal and Gary is the kind of ship I would often make up in my head growing up, and I’m shook at how it feels to Actually see it play out for real

I think the Gary and Marshall subplot, with them building a relationship here and now without the magic baggage, is going to be one of those things Fionna could potentially destroy if the magic comes back to her world.
Who says? his universe is free of any "canonical Events" as explained by Prismo. Besides, here they probably only become good friends, it doesn't necessarily have to be interpreted as such.
@@gimo6881 it’s canon that they are fated to have a relationship (relationships can be platonic) regardless of changes or even character deaths. They were together platonically in the marshmallow world. It may not be a romantic relationship (yet?) but it certainly is a relationship :)
Marshall might be the punk of the duo, but he is absolutely the biggest dork. Bro was so smitten he started talking to his mom again after just a DAY hanging out with him. He wouldn't do that for Fionna, his bff 😭 Man I wish gay people were real, this is so cute
Fionna didnt just commit murder. She straight up went full genocide route TWICE! (Yes I do count the ice/snow creatures as people). I also have to wonder, why did the Winter King allowed Candy Queen to just roam free instead of just freezing her and putting her away ? Could it be that his "perfex=ct wonder land" became way too perfect and he just kept her around as a way to distract himself? The character becomes more interesting the more you think about him
She had no way to know that she could drain magic. Maybe it’s because she and Cake don’t belong to the multiverse. Or maybe because they were accidentally summoned by a Golb ritual. The fact that it took a short time for her to realize her mistakes compared to Finn makes a lot of sense to me. She’s already an adult for all her childish behavior, so she has a lot of experience and can pick up instantly the “not so nice” implications of the consequences of her actions
He may have needed her to be active for the madness to continue channeling into her. If she were in stasis he may have needed another vessel and having only one was more convenient.
Candy queen is a candy elemental (yes, that's a thing) whose power is on par or more powerful than the Ice crown. Also I don't count ice people they were glorified imaginary friends.
Are we gonna talk about the fact that the Winter King most definitely murdered Marceline to put his madness into PB and replaced her with a child ice clone that is now ALSO dead? I don't think he forgot Betty cause he's more focused on the magic, I think he's more focused on repressing what he did to Marceline and what he was currently doing to Bubblegum at the time
Personally, I think Marceline might've ended her own life, largely because of how we saw he grappling with thoughts of mortality in Stakes. This more sense to me than Simon killing her bc with Simon and PB being the way they were, I really don't think Marceline had anyone genuinely close to her anymore except... maybe LSP? Finn and Jake were nowhere to be seen in the WK universe either...
The show is fantastic and I do like that we get to pop in into Fiona’s universe to see how things are going there. Seeing farmworld again after all these years was great and the universe where Simon “conquered” the crown was very interesting as well to see PB act like ice king but even more psychotic. Marshall Lee and Gary had some good moments so far but I need more chemistry and screentime for them.
My favorite part of Marshall & Gary getting their moment to shine is the romance is shown in it's very early stages. We didn't really get to see PB and Marceline go through that, outside of very vague hints. It's nice to actually see the very early stages of their relationship. Because they're gender-bent characters it kind of fills in the blanks I wanted from the other two. It's a two... four* birds with one stone situation.
Taking a second second from how the gays are absolutely winning in The Winter King, I do like how Fionna is slowly realizing the consequences of her actions around the other worlds she's visiting. I think she's slowly realizing that this isn't just a power fantasy just for her and that the people that she's hurting are real.
One odd current theme we see in this new spin-off is the use of blood. We have Finn murdering that river monster, Simon getting cut, Cake giving Fionna a dead rat and Little Destiny cutting the arm of a gang colleague. Not only that, there's also the odd detail of most (if not every) Finn alternative having a prostetic arm, except for Fionna. What i'm trying to say is that, not only we might see Fionna's arm been ripped off onscreen, it might actually be way more gore-y and traumatic than it was with Finn in Citadel
I love how Marshall hesitates to call his mom when his best friend asks him to, but immediately does so to help a cute guy he just met without him even needing to ask first. What happened to bros before hoes?
Im ngl, seeing Marshall and Gary together is giving what it needes to give😂. Ik there's a lot more representation these days but bi men, i feel like, don't always get a spot light, and when they do they are in a straight passing relationship. That's not an issue, and it's normal to real life but i feel like sometimes its just the safe choice speaking from a media perspective
Bi male characters end up with female partners because it's "representation" with less pitchforks involved. They don't even show a single hint of attraction towards another man; that's when you know they just slapped a "bi" sticker on a straight-intented character for woke points
I'm convinced the development of Fionna's universe is going to play a major role in the outcome of the series. I think the show is trying to get us invested in the non-magic versions of these characters so that when Fionna has to make a choice about whether to bring back the magic or keep her world the way it is now, we actually feel torn about it instead of just going "well bring back the magic, ob-v". They may even be trying to get us to root for Fionna to keep it as it is for the sake of the people she cares about, just as we're all rooting for Simon not to wear the crown again for the sake of the people he cares about.
I had those same thoughts too, and I genuinely hope when Fionna gets back (IF she goes back) to her normal world, everything's gotten a bit better, and she can see that magic is not needed for her to have a nice existence.
i honestly also love exploring fionnas non magic world tbh. They didnt do it so much that it disrupted the rest of the episode so i think its a perfect balance!
Marshall definitely talked to his mom. The Lemon Ks said this was the place SHE mentioned. So he likely made a deal to have dinner with her or something so she'd make the connection for Gary.
I think that would’ve perpetuated gay stereotypes as men being into men for s3x. I would love that for them, but the slow burn is definitely the best route to go :)
given how tuff finn seems to be especially with how well he faced off against the scarab for his first encounter, i imagine he likely is alive, injured, but alive
12:11 he is most likely alive. If you remember the reason the humans wear those hats is to be resistant to vampires so they usually are pretty sturdy. Though I don't know if vampires existed in this version of ooo due to the mushroom bomb not going off but maybe it still protected against other things
the winter king is my favorite version of simon so far. i don't even care that he's messed up and forced his insanity onto bubblegum (i mean, i do care, that's obviously terrible, but still), he's got the perfect bdg energy. i love him.
I think I wanted you to comment on Marceline's guitar being in the Winter King's castle near a puddle of water, implying that she melted/is dead. As for Fiona and Cake, I don't think they're anti-magic. Rather, they're pro-normal. They're carrying their world's essence with them, which infects anything they touch.
I like it when a show/film shows a gay romance without trying to pat themselves on the back for it. For example, whenever Disney includes a gay relationship, they make it a massive PR move, add it into the film to get internet points (at least that's how it feels to me), then act like they're so amazing for it. But here, it's just two people who love each others company, that's all there is to it and it's so adorable to watch.
I'm binging all your fionna and cake episodes breakdowns and I'm loving it, the show is AMAZING, I'm so in love with this. Also yes, the ice prince assistants reminded me so much of Pearl too lmao, I couldn't not see it. AND I'M SO HUNGRY FOR THE MARSHALL & GARRY PLOT AND THEY'RE FEEDING ME TO IT, Like finally. I've always wanted to see them together ever since Marcy and Bonnie started to be a thing.
Marshall 100% talked to his mom to get the Karens to come. He mentioned she's the one that knows them, then when they get out of the car you can hear one of them say "this is the address she gave us".
Anyone else think it was surreal hearing Brian David Gilbert's voice in Adventure Time? I had to immediately skip to the credits to confirm before watching the episode. That was wild.
Just want to point out that the winter king had an ice Marcy and i think there's a whole spectrum of possible significance. From Marcy being possible dead considering when Betty was brought up his response to Simon was to just make an ice Betty. And if thats the case when did she died, as ice Marcy is depicted younger that what she would have been at the time but W.K some how got the guitar(something she wouldn't have until later. really just the fact that W.K has no emotional attachment to Betty ,but enough for Marceline to warrant making an ice clone and a keepsake.
The stuff with the boys is so nice actually because I went into the show expecting more like what we're seeing with the fionna and Simon plot but after the first episode I found I actually really liked the down to earth take it had on the world and was sad to see it go when the story moved on
The one thing I didn't like in the "Winter King" is how they benched the Scarab. Dude was built to be a threatening overarcging presence only to be worfed by the Winter King and be sidelined the entire episode. Like they've shown that he couldn't get out of the ice, instead of, I don't know, showing him slowly cracking it from the inside. The Scarab is such a cool villain in the previous episodes, especially on how he immediately beats down Farm World Finn and this just damages his aura of intimidation. He doesn't feel like as powerful as before.
They trapped the lich in amber originally, so extremely powerful magical beings can be trapped by rather mundane sounding materials and ice can be rather hard. plus it seems they were there for like a day.
@@jarnold Scarab is shown to be the cosmic hunter, who hunts those who have escaped the Citadel, so gods and the like. He's such a big deal, even Prismo the Wish Master is afraid of him. So him being permanently thwarted by an ice wizard just didn't feel right.
Theory; because Simon was Resetted by Golb, Fionna-world was also Resetted by Golb and since Golb breaks down matter to it’s basic form, anyone from Fionna world is infected by Golb’s essence bc Simon was, tho unlike Simon, it infects them on a level where whatever they interact with for a long time will “reset” jus like Golb did with Simon and Betty Side note; I think Simon’s immortal because of Betty’s Wish bc dude is 1,000 years old and not weak
Oh yeah, and something I realised is that the winter kingdom is actually what the Ice Kingdom used to look like in the early sketch/pitches for adventure time! I loved noticing that the second i saw it!
I love how the show is showing real consequences of Fiona Cake and Simon traveling through all these worlds. It gives a sense of real meaning to each episode as opposed to everything just being a fun episodic romp.
My bet is that we'll have 5/7 main incarnations of simons across the multiverse, each representing a part of grief. Our simon is bargaining (trying to get back what he lost), Winter King was denial, where he denies the consequences of his actions and projects them onto others (physically and metaphorically, since he literally projects his problems onto princess bubblegum), he also denies the truth in general since he lied about his past.
The winter king episode might just be my favorite thing i have ever seen in adventure time, that crown makes for the most insane stories and i love where it's taking our simon
What I really liked about these episodes, and honestly this series in general kinds of explores the idea of long term consequences. In the original series was Farm World's Finn's time with the crow was tense their was kind of a he get cured fixes what he's down and everything goes back to normal. Sort of how we might have assumed despite some hints (his visit to Prismo in the final season's epilogue montage, and seen in Obsidian with him where his Ice King get up) that Simon had just accepted Bettie's death and moved on. We are really seeing how that is not the case in either example. And the end of episode six while we see PB get better they don't let us go before reminding us just how much damage Fiona and Cake did. And the last see show's Fiona still struggling with what she did. Depends on the show, and especially if it is more episode verses serialized, but their can a tendency to rush past large scale traumatizing events, as act as if they get resolved without issue. It's nice to see the show subverting that reminding us that not only do actions have consequences but that even when we try to make up for mistakes, we can't entirely erase the effects of those mistakes.
One little detail that i spotted, that Winter Prince created an Ice Marcy, is that mean the marcy on that universs is dead? He also created her in the child form, that means she hasnt become a vampire, and probably died as a child. Maybe this have something to do with what turns this version of Simon to a sociopath Also.. He didnt remember Betty, but he still remember Marcy. Its that mean Simon loves Marcy more than Betty?
Just found your channel and im in love with your whole vibe and editing. And its great to here someone agree with my Marshall Lee takes and new point of views 🔥🔥
For some of you weirdos... the Gumball and Marshal stuff isn't just THROWN in there just because. Fionna and Cake have a life and friends free of magic, and they are actively trying to change their world in their quest. It's showing what there is to loose if they start messing with other people's life's. The newest episodes only prove that more.
Farm world Finn should be alive. here’s my reasoning, so back when The stakes miniseries in normal adventure time was airing one of the episodes showed Marceline with a bunch of other humans, and all those humans wore animal hats to protect from being bitten. This may be a stretch but I believe that’s why Farm world should still be alive, because of his animal hat.
I am in love with every aspect of this show. From Simon's arc especially to all the worlds we've seen, I get so excited to see it all! In regards to Gary and Marshall Lee, I get the feeling that their subplot is going to evolve into trying to find out where Fionna went in later episodes. Since they never met before, ep. 6 was their way of getting to know each other, and now that that's been established, they'll be brought gradually more into the plot. As long as I get to see more of them, I'm happy
Also Gary and Marshall's plotline serves as a window for Fionna's world so if, for example, Simon does put the crown on for a few seconds, or he gets magic through other means, we see how it affects the world from their perspective
@@yosholauI think that maybe the reason why Fionna is removing the magic from things is because now their universe is getting slowly connected to the rest with their presence, and direct interaction is letting magic be transfered from one universe to another. With Fionnas universe having no magic, magic gets sucked there, in a similar way that connecting a container with a vaccun to one filled with gas will make the gas move till both are filled with the same amount of gas It would be interesting if that happens and we have to see the chaos that magic slowly returning has on that universe.
And people are still denying that they are together romantically.. like.. they literally kissed. They held hands. Flirted with each other. Ah yes.. friends. What does it take for those people to acknowledge that Marshall and Gary are dating? A bed scene?? Then again I am glad most of the fans of this show are not stupid like those people..
12:10 I think they’ll probably have fw Finn return at some point because he’s wearing one of the “anti-vampire” animal hats, so that might have protected him from the scarab at least a bit
I feel like the whole normal world will effect the main plot with either Simon trying to return the main two and instead sending in some other normal world citizens to the madness or maybe Fionna will learn to appreciate the normal after realizing she’d have to erase everything gained here to created a magical place for her
Already posted this on another video but for me Gary anf Marshall's subplot helps emphasize you don't need magic to be happy like Fionna belives, or something like that
Finally watched these all. Hope you see this despite it being so late. But did you notice the ice marceline the winter prince had? After telling Simon it'd be unethical to make an ice betty? and then when he lost his powers she was melted? I know it's just a small detail but man was I upset about it
Tbh tho Finn didn't even have a girlfriend/true relationship. He had a crush, an obsession with PB, then Flame Princess. When he was dating Flame Princess, he fked it up. He pretty much fell in "love" with the next girl he saw. Finn didn't really have a true love of his life like Simon did, all Finn had were crushes
The winter King sequence was from Smallbu! They did the final fight in Owl House as well! They've been on a roll lately and I can see them becoming more and more of a power house.
I really love the silent wordbuilding in these episode. Two things though: First, I thought the beggining of the fifth episode implied Finn was taking care of the children he orphaned. and Second, It was pretty messed up Winter King having an ice Marceline. In my head, it tells the story of how he had a fight with the real marceline after what he did to bonnie, and the basically surrounded himself with a bunch of imaginary friends. Also finn is probs dead in this reality after facing a powerful and "sane" Ice King. PS: Brian David Gilbert was GOATED.

Marshal and Gary is the kind of ship I would often make up in my head growing up, and I’m shook at how it feels to
Actually see it play out for real
Yeah that's true. The two guys in Nimona are probably the only other 2 I can think of that fit that role.
Just say gay. Do not say mlm
Just to note: The soup made by Farmworld's Finn's wife, where it's the same batch she made before she died and they just keep adding stuff to it, is called Perpetual Stew, which also has the name "Hunter's Pot." So I think you know what conclusion to draw from that

It could've also been guilt of what he did to her in his subconcious.
He may have needed her to be active for the madness to continue channeling into her. If she were in stasis he may have needed another vessel and having only one was more convenient.
I'm tired of adventure time adding in all these gay guys. Get a grip on life gentlemen please.
Candy queen is a candy elemental (yes, that's a thing) whose power is on par or more powerful than the Ice crown.
Also I don't count ice people they were glorified imaginary friends.
Marshall was down bad for Gary immediately lol
“WHO ARE YOU??!!!”
“Who….are youuuuu???…..”
I absolutely loved these episodes. Especially the winter king. All the stuff with Marshall and Gary was *chefs kiss*
Are we gonna talk about the fact that the Winter King most definitely murdered Marceline to put his madness into PB and replaced her with a child ice clone that is now ALSO dead? I don't think he forgot Betty cause he's more focused on the magic, I think he's more focused on repressing what he did to Marceline and what he was currently doing to Bubblegum at the time
Or Marcy died while she was just a kid
@@Hanmacxshe has the bass she would've gotten during her teens
I think winter king hinted that he never actually got together with betty.
Marshall and Gary are the best parts of this show. You can't change my mind. You can't. Lol
"Gary is worried, Marshall is shirtless, already off to a great start."
A+ script.

This will be more than ACCEPTABLEEEEEEE!
I'm just waiting for one or both of them to say, "who is your manager?!"
I love that we got to hear Jeremy flex his range and do a gruff, stoic Finn.
Winter-King flirting with Simon was hilarious.
Also... Marshall and Gary are EEEEE!!!!!
“Pearl from Steven Universe” was by far the most funniest comparison I’ve ever seen in my life 😂😂
I was so happy to see them together!! I was waiting for them to meet each other and it couldn't have been cuter
The last two episodes we got were unbelievable amazing, I’m glad we got this series.
I had those same thoughts too, and I genuinely hope when Fionna gets back (IF she goes back) to her normal world, everything's gotten a bit better, and she can see that magic is not needed for her to have a nice existence.
I LOVE THIS NEW SERIES BECAUSE IS A BUNCH OF AU FANFICS COMBINED WITH GREAT STORY
This makes me think that every AU the fandom has created is part of the multiverse
i honestly also love exploring fionnas non magic world tbh. They didnt do it so much that it disrupted the rest of the episode so i think its a perfect balance!
Marshall definitely talked to his mom.
The Lemon Ks said this was the place SHE mentioned. So he likely made a deal to have dinner with her or something so she'd make the connection for Gary.
I don’t have HBO Max so I’m searching for this content! BRO I was SCREAMING when they were canon I’m so happy 😭
i like how simon still thinks of others like with marceline he can sacrifice himself to help fiona and cake

I went completely feral whenever the Gary x Marshall subplot played. Its kinda nice too see them just starting out. Really cute absolutely love it!
I DO wonder about ice Marcy in the castle, though. Ice King sayed that "you can always create an ice betty!", so she's probably dead.
CQ: "I put you into a Blender with me"
Simon: "what a nice metaphor"
CQ: "not a metaphor"
😅
The whole time when Marshal & Gary were together I was just waiting for "romantic" times to go down
I think that would’ve perpetuated gay stereotypes as men being into men for s3x.
Vampires existed before the apocalypse in the OG ooo timeline, so it’s safe to say they’re probably around somewhere in farmworld universe
Knowing Adventure Time, I'm pretty sure the Marshall Gary side plot was a build up to them being brought into the main story line.
the winter king is my favorite version of simon so far. i don't even care that he's messed up and forced his insanity onto bubblegum (i mean, i do care, that's obviously terrible, but still), he's got the perfect bdg energy.
I was waiting for this vid for what felt like years
I'm binging all your fionna and cake episodes breakdowns and I'm loving it, the show is AMAZING, I'm so in love with this.
The stuff with the boys is so nice actually because I went into the show expecting more like what we're seeing with the fionna and Simon plot but after the first episode I found I actually really liked the down to earth take it had on the world and was sad to see it go when the story moved on
I literally could not stop thinking of how you sound exactly like the ice prince while I was watching the episode
We know Scarab's arms were sharp, but did Farmboy Finn's animal hat protect him, like it does with vampire fangs?
God I'VE been wait forever to see them canon! FINALLY🎉
THEY SO CUTE ❤
The one thing I didn't like in the "Winter King" is how they benched the Scarab. Dude was built to be a threatening overarcging presence only to be worfed by the Winter King and be sidelined the entire episode. Like they've shown that he couldn't get out of the ice, instead of, I don't know, showing him slowly cracking it from the inside. The Scarab is such a cool villain in the previous episodes, especially on how he immediately beats down Farm World Finn and this just damages his aura of intimidation. He doesn't feel like as powerful as before.
The thing Is, the crown is more powerful /:
They trapped the lich in amber originally, so extremely powerful magical beings can be trapped by rather mundane sounding materials and ice can be rather hard. plus it seems they were there for like a day.
thats the point. the Scarab can so easily overpower the trio and yet the Winter King can just freeze him. hes meant to be more powerful
@@jarnold Scarab is shown to be the cosmic hunter, who hunts those who have escaped the Citadel, so gods and the like. He's such a big deal, even Prismo the Wish Master is afraid of him. So him being permanently thwarted by an ice wizard just didn't feel right.
Theory; because Simon was Resetted by Golb, Fionna-world was also Resetted by Golb and since Golb breaks down matter to it’s basic form, anyone from Fionna world is infected by Golb’s essence bc Simon was, tho unlike Simon, it infects them on a level where whatever they interact with for a long time will “reset” jus like Golb did with Simon and Betty
Side note; I think Simon’s immortal because of Betty’s Wish bc dude is 1,000 years old and not weak
Dude your audio is shockingly normal and fine? I didn't even realize you were recording not in a nice, good studio this entire time, so props to you.
LITERALLY my favourite episode by far, i LOVED episode 6, although i'd say episode 5 was pretty mediocre.
Seeing ice Kid Marcy, then seeing her melted puddle remains after WK dies was such an unnecessary hit to my heart. Not fair lol
Let me make it worse. That was Marcy’s actual guitar not a copy.
The winter king episode might just be my favorite thing i have ever seen in adventure time, that crown makes for the most insane stories and i love where it's taking our simon
Okay, now I want prime Finn to also have a pack of kids (preferably with Huntress wizard).
I think finn and huntress wizard indeed are the endgame from all the hints that were dropped lmao!!
Given the trend, they'll have at least 2. One named after Jake, one named after Princess Bubblegum
I'm not sure if it's connected, but the entire time Simon was in the Winter Kingdom, it was snowing in Fionna's world
What I really liked about these episodes, and honestly this series in general kinds of explores the idea of long term consequences.
Maybe this have something to do with what turns this version of Simon to a sociopath
Also..
I would be disappointed if we didn't get one musical number with Marcy and Marshall, just cause.
With Fionnas universe having no magic, magic gets sucked there, in a similar way that connecting a container with a vaccun to one filled with gas will make the gas move till both are filled with the same amount of gas
It would be interesting if that happens and we have to see the chaos that magic slowly returning has on that universe.

No mention of the implications of Ice Marcy in the Winter King Universe? I thought that was so messed up and broke my heart quite a bit.
From the constant reference and the canonical delivery, fionna and cake is a great show so far!!
12:10 I think they’ll probably have fw Finn return at some point because he’s wearing one of the “anti-vampire” animal hats, so that might have protected him from the scarab at least a bit
I feel like the whole normal world will effect the main plot with either Simon trying to return the main two and instead sending in some other normal world citizens to the madness or maybe Fionna will learn to appreciate the normal after realizing she’d have to erase everything gained here to created a magical place for her
Already posted this on another video but for me Gary anf Marshall's subplot helps emphasize you don't need magic to be happy like Fionna belives, or something like that
4:33 yeah this makes sense because like Winter King doesn’t really seem like a Simon to me if that makes sense.

Tbh tho Finn didn't even have a girlfriend/true relationship. He had a crush, an obsession with PB, then Flame Princess. When he was dating Flame Princess, he fked it up. I really love the silent wordbuilding in these episode. Two things though:
First, I thought the beggining of the fifth episode implied Finn was taking care of the children he orphaned.
and Second, It was pretty messed up Winter King having an ice Marceline. In my head, it tells the story of how he had a fight with the real marceline after what he did to bonnie, and the basically surrounded himself with a bunch of imaginary friends. Also finn is probs dead in this reality after facing a powerful and "sane" Ice King.
