I love that in episode 2 marceline asks what would she be without Simon, and Simon says she would be thriving, but than you see in episode 7 that she really did need Simon
As PB explains in the episode, almost all the people for the vampires has been wiped out and they will soon starve, even being pampered while going down isn't thriving if you think about it...
@@ajnodurft-faught2039 Well that may be true that the humans are almost wiped out but Marceline is smart. She did after all figure out how to devour the color red instead of blood in another dimension. She'd probably get around to it again in desperation.
I know Marcy was a villain, but she was SOOO FUN as a villain. It kinda reminded me of when we first saw her in AT. She just loves being evil & having fun, and i gotta respect it
she wasn’t ever evil in adventure time. she’s always had good nature, it was just under layers of suppressed emotions and trauma she never dealt with. she messed with people for fun sure, but it was certainly more from her unresolved punk anger and in prank-like nature. she definitely gets softer as the show goes on but only because she finally allows herself to deal with her issues and open up to the characters around her. but she’s definitely badass and fun to watch in fionna and cake fs 🗣️
To be fair, Adventure time ended with the main characters getting their ending. I am honestly fine with seeing these multiverse's and how these characters can be changed by their surroundings.
Nah, Adventure Time ended with the two main plots getting their most important twists. The protagonists (Finn and Jake) got their ending in Together Again and the other protagonists (Marcy and Bonnie) got their ending in Obsidian, and now the main character may get his ending in Fionna and Cake.
I feel like Bubblegum and Marceline were less enemies to lovers and more lovers to enemies, since they seemed to have had a close relationship beforehand (possibly) but now they (but especially PB) seem to hate eachother
@@tanandalynch9441 that's true, I do think Bubblegum holds more resentment then Marceline may, however, as PB is pretty against the idea of even the suggestion of being in love with The Star, even going as far as to give up her life so she can 'poof' Marcy
I don't think they were ever lovers in this world. In the main adventure time world yes but here they are just rivals. Marceline not wanting her servants to kill Bonnie could be a rival always wanting to fight them themself.
I think the Lich letting them go is a result of him finally seeing the planned obsolescence of his existence. He kills things and that's it. If there's nothing to kill, he just stops. When he arrived in that world, he probably just popped into that skull cave and stopped, with only BMO to check in and braid his beard. He probably could kill Simon and the girls, but then what? Wait until someone killable maybe shows up again? Then why do it at all? This show really is all about the 10 different ways your existence could be made pointless, isn't it?
Also, he doesn't just want to kill things. He wants to kill EVERYTHING. Why bother killing a small group of people if sparing them might let you find a way to make a portal, so you can kill more people?
That, and the fact even if he doesn’t kill them they’ll die anyway seeing as there’s no food or way to repopulate. I’m hoping he gets an interaction with Golb. He IS the OG lich, afterall. He’s the one that wished for the extinction of all life.
he didn't just let them go, he shut down entirely, mid sentence, like someone flipped a switch off. I think Golb deactivated the liche because it was about to kill Simon, and Betty's wish - "keep Simon safe" - still holds sway over Golb and Golb's creatures.
I see Fiona's situation as similar to Subaru's from Re:Zero. The two are normal people who felt useless and unachieved in their normal world who, after accidentally being thrown into a new world of fantasy and magic, see an opportunity to be something more and live an adventure, only to end up having a reality check and realize that this new reality is much more dangerous and difficult than they expected, with real and frightening consequences.
You can actually see the crown in the damaged drum set before it’s revealed that fionna snagged it. When I saw it I was like “GRAB IT DUDE!”. That was amazing foreshadowing that you could easily spot
personally i think that the reason why golbetty was able to create a portal to simon was because of the crown. Betty's wish with the crown was the power to 'keep simon safe'. since Betty saw the ice king as the death of simon in the show, the act of simon putting on another wishing crown would probably be what gave her the power to teleport him.
I was hoping for more chemistry between marshal and Gary before they kissed but it’s cute. These past 2 episodes were once again amazing. Seeing Marcy being evil as a follower of the vampire king was pretty cool and seeing Martin act like a really nice guy was shocking. Jerry being the Lich was something i expected the moment BMO said everyone turned to skeletons after Jerry showed up who was the Lich from the original series who made the wish to kill all life which is the gag of the episode.
I think maybe part of the reason why Gary and Marshal seem to be speedrunning their relationship is because Simon already knows Marceline and PB are in a happy and healthy relationship which results in Gary and Marshal being more innately compatible
I think you misunderstood. The lich was stuck in a universe where everyone is dead for years while the lich we see in the after life is seeing a constant place of life with the reincarnation. While he accomplished the goal he has nothing going for him and the years alone is wearing him down with BMO being his only company. Also, I think it more imply that the memory of Simon had before trying to put on the crown supercharge the ritual to go to Betty now
This would be correct, remember the "emotional supercharge" moment in S10, this is that -- but now with a battery that won't explode and could sustain it (The Lich could handle it without flinching, Evil Choosegoose would have also exploded had that supercharge happened)
Personally don't believe that Lich was actually depressed because of the lack of life (and death). I mean I get it, the moment he felt true sadness was when he succeeded but with no effort, it's cathartic, ironic, and such a satisfying "defeat". But I still don't think that lich is actually depressed, I mean Simon said it himself but what does he know (genuinely speaking). Simon know that he's the last scholar of Golb and his connection to Golb but I don't think he knows what Lich is in the grand scheme. PRISMO was the first and last person to refer to Lich as a " machine" serving one purpose, death. Now, it could be just a metaphor, and it has some holes like, if Lich is truly a Machine then he would not display emotions like that time when he was shocked to see that sweet pea didn't side with him, or the many times he was defeated. But honestly it doesn't really stop him from being a machine of death. I personally beleived he would've killed the gang without a second thought, yes his last words were "I would've given you death a thousand fold" but he was cut briefly by shutting down, further proof that he's more machine than living. We never even know what he's gonna say after that. Fuck, I don't know man, tbh I just like this theory more than "Lich is depressed". It's a valid point, I can see why people think this first, but I think this theory is more interesting
*It was clearly foreshadowing, all the humans were wiped out due to Marceline not saving them in this timeline. Having the baby Finn here means that he’s gonna be the vampire hunter of this universe while Peppermint tank watches over him!*
It was pointed out on Tumblr that Simon has white eyes in all the flashbacks to his and Betty's relationship, even though in a couple of pictures of him from before the crown, he has the normal black eyes, and that maybe being an indication of an unreliable image of events. In both directions--Simon idealizing his and Betty's relationship developments because it was a thousand years ago and he misses her desperately, and Simon maybe also putting his own good qualities down. He doesn't even consider that the difference between normal Marceline and the Star was HIM until Fionna points it out.
Would that be a reason why the Betty designs here have different glasses? Cause Betty’s design from Holly Jolly Secrets to Come Along with me, she has a consistent essential form. Though Simon always had white eyes as Simon,Transition phases, and as ice king, though the newspaper clipping from HJS was black dots. eyes. EDIT: Also could you link the tumble post very interested if it elaborated more.
Honestly I just think the Lich just realized how unfulfilling ending all life is, I mean he ended all life and had about twenty years to reflect on how boring it is to acconplish his dreams all at once, so thats maybe why this lich didn't end the gang the moment they appeared
The other thing as well, we saw the effect happened instantly -- so in reality, the Lich didn't get the pleasure of killing anyone, just a shortcut to the finish line. Even with his wish to satisfy his goal, Prismo still robbed him of that feeling by just making it happen instantly instead of the Lich being the direct cause.
he just shut down mid sentence though. he didn't trail off or change his mind, he just stopped. I think betty/golb acted to stop the liche from killing Simon.
Honestly both theories work in tandem. One, it's established that Lich is a literal death machine, so having him realize there's no purpose after killing all life kinda makes him more "alive" in a twisted and ironic way. Two, Golbetty having direct control of This specific lich in the last second kinda reinforces the machine idea, it really showed how golbetty sort of indirectly saved the multiverse just by merging with Golb and probably "reprogramming" the lich to chill tf out. How much control she has is unclear, but it's there
how amazing this show has been almost feels surreal, like i can’t believe we get to see these grown up adventure time-y stories and how desperately heartbreaking they are, and how beautifully it’s animated. I think the phrase “grown up with its audience” is so overused for things that are just returning in another form but for this it feels so accurate. I was 13ish when Adventure Time came out, I’m 27 now and those last two episodes shook me to a whole new level, maybe it’s how i felt when i saw Come Along With Me for the first time, but who knows, it feels so long ago that i just feel lucky to experience it again now.
So something that was brought up in a few different videos was Simon's "why would I." Which some have seen as Simin not being willing to make sacrifices for Betty. For me though, i see as a representation of how different their characters are. Where Simon was cautious and pragmatic, Betty was spontaneous and a little reckless. Of course Simon didn't get on that bus, that's crazy. Who decides to go live with someone in a different country for 6 months after just confessing. Even when compared with what Betty did, which was a less than week long expedition with a colleague, that's insane. I find this is demonstrated best in their confessions and Simon's response to Betty's. "You need to be careful where and who you leave letters." Yes, it was cute and romantic, but it was pure luck that Simon didn't miss it. I think this episode really highlights what was wrong with their relationship. Being with Betty made Somon a little more spontaneous and reckless. It made him a better person. Being with Simon didn't do that for Betty. It didn't help her be more pragmatic and cautious, it made her more reckless. Simon did do crazy things for Betty, even before this show. Biggest things i can think of is her main introduction. Man is willing to rip through space and time just to give each other closure and then, when she does something even more spontaneous and reckless, gives up the chance to die as himself so that she could try and save him. They're both crazy for each other. Its just that Betty is even more so and since in the past it kind of lined up with her personality, Simon didn't see it as bad, he saw it as Betty. And what's worse is that Betty almost got there, twice. Before the Elemental stuff she was ready to give up going to the next extreme to get Simon back and just try and be happy with Ice King, making his life a little easier. Then she almost got that she maybe gave too much up for Simon, begire doubling down harder and bringing Normal Man back into her crazy. Writing this all out has given me a theory of why she was always doing this. Because in the past her reckless, impulsive, spontaneous behavior always worked out. She got to go on an expedition to find a magical artifact. She didn't get sick or got leaches walking into a river. She didn't get bitten by snakes. Her romcom letter in a book confession got her the guy. It wasn't until later that consequences started happening. She jokingly suggests Simon put on the crown. She jumps through a time portal without thinking and now she's in magic land needing to bring back her loves madness so she doesn't have to watch him die. Snd then she goes to extreme to next extreme eithout someone, pethaps someone who's pragmatic and cautious, telling her she's going too far. Because we know from A.I. Betty that she would have listened to Simon telling her she needs to stop. Man these guys are tragic and i wrote way too much.
i agree but i also think there is still that huge lack of balance in who is making sacrifices in their relationship. i think both can be true, thats those sacrifices were reckless, yes, but it says something that betty is primarily making those sacrificies. i don't think simon necessarily even wants these sacrifices, but it says something about betty alongside their relationship. i think if the mushroom war and the crown had never happened, that might have either been something they would have matured out of and mellowed out or something they would resolve in couples counseling. same thing with what people have called their codependency. they have a good relationship but its realistic in that its not perfect. i could also make some commentary about how often women are made sacrifice their own dreams and goals for men while men aren't expected to do so but idk if thats what they're going for so i won't.
I didnt really get enemies to lovers for this universe of PB and Marceline. They seemed to be flat out enemies, contrasted by Fionna's world Gary and Marshal
What's interesting is that PB knew Marceline's real name when she confronted about Simon knowing it... I'm curious as to why. Marcy seems to not want to kill her just yet... Hmmmm
For the Lich, you forget Simon's comment of the Lich "seems really depressed". Likewise, the Lich doesn't say that he's different now specifically, just that "in olden days"; i.e. when life still existed. It's possible that the Lich has become depressed upon finally achieving his goal now that there's nothing he can do, and that he realised what killing Simon, Fionna and Cake would mean; going back to having no purpose, which is why he couldn't be bothered to kill them. He got the Monkey's Paw like Prismo said, he got what he wished for but it's came at an ironic twist to show that it's not what it's cracked up to be - which also reflects with Fionna and her wish for magic and adventure but finding out it's not quite she hoped it was, and well as with Simon being devoid of purpose to the point he is willing to sacrifice himself to end it. But who knows, maybe in the next episodes he realises the infinite multiverse means he can continue to end life forever and goes world-hopping.
Slight obvious thing you didn't comment a lot on - the whole journey, Simon's effectively being told by every universe how bad his idea is. It was most obvious in the Vampire universe, where he gets a DIRECT reality check of how his absence is the one thing that caused said universe to happen, and how HE MATTERS.
Every time I feel like Fionna and Cake can't get any better, it tops itself. Episodes 7 & 8 were the two best episodes of the show so far. They just continue to blast grand slams out of the park. I really hope the final two episodes can live up to what came before it.
It's so ironic how Simon got the spell to work the way he wanted earlier when he summoned Fionna and Cake. Also, it feels catharsis that the Lich is depressed like other people in the show.
I think that the Lich acting as he does has little to do with Betty being the new boss and more to do with the Lich finally succeeding in his quest to destroy all life... and finding it utterly meaningless. After God knows how many centuries after destroying the world, he's probably so depressed (like the series says) that he finds no reason why he should continue killing. He's basically the dog who manages to bite his own tail. And now he doesn't know what to do with it. It would also fit the series theme of what you want (Simon becoming the Ice King or seeing Betty again and Fionna wanting to return magic to her world) not being what you actually need.
It's actually only 17 years of everything being gone. He was sent to his wish universe when finn was 14 years old, and he was there for the 3 years of that plus the timeskip of this show, so around 17 years of nothing but BMO and skeletons. I can see why he got so tired, it didn't pay off so he realized he committed to nothing, and became desolate just like the lands he wiped the life out of
My interpretation of Jerry is that as a scholar of Golb, the Lich causes mass death to spread Golb's nature as a being of chaos and discord. But after killing everyone he realized the Extinct World is one of complete stagnation and stillness, basically near-perfect order. So realizing his life's mission basically resulted in the opposite of what his god is broke him
I personally think that Fionna and Cake's "Glitchy nature" as you called it has something to do with GOLBetty itself rather than Multiverse stuff. That last clip you showed, where Ice King is going back to being Simon and Magic Betty turns back to just Betty, they glitch out in a way similar fashion, less effects, but might be just a change in style after so long. I feel like Simon's ritual at the beggining infused a little of GOLBetty's mojo into Fionna and Cake.
It's honestly astounding how, so far, Adventure Time just hasn't missed, generally speaking, even after changing hands. It seems like the current show runners are careful and know to pace the series, not diving too hard or committing to any long running spin-offs, at least for now. Good writing, fan service maybe just a smidge gratuitous but not hardly bad, low quality, or over done (Definitely not tired of Bubbline and Fintress yet.), yep, still astounded. At this rate, AT will go down in history as a legend of animation, up there with Avatar, The Simpsons, South Park, and others who have been lucky to run as long as they have and still have a well, fondly remembered legacy. Honestly, it's amazing how the land of Ooo, with how weird and creative it is, still feels like it has nigh infinite potential to explore more stories and ideas. They could keep showing us Finn and co's. journeys as time moves forward and they age, or give us a brand new cast of characters, with cameos from old friends, and with this level of quality I'd still be on board. At this point, I think all I could really ask for is one really good AT video game. This teams writing, a dev team with experience who's allowed to cook and take all the time they need for quality assurance, and tons of content and both familiar and new crazy areas to explore and play and fight around in with a ton of creative enemies and overall content that'll takes somewhere between tens to hundreds of hours to complete (Maybe higher end of 50 hours but lower than 70+), and I'm sold.
regular bubbline/gumlee: cute, healthy relationship that explores their dynamic in a satisfying yet realistic way vampire au bubbline: psychosexually obsessed with eachother
You know what is quite curious? I wonder if our Simon isn't an anomaly, from what we've seen so far there's no universe in which he and Marceline have managed to be together. Farmworld Simon died when Marceline was young, Winter King Marceline presumably also died, Vampire World Simon never met Marceline, Lich King Simon and Marceline died. Only our Simon can live with Marceline and temporarily get his Betty back. And this anomaly was caused by Golb's summoning in the final season, meaning that it seems all the Simons are destined to be alone, with our Simon being the only exception so far due to tge fact Golb and Prismo have directly/indirectly interfered in his destiny. Apart from that, the story of our current Simon literally mirrors the same as the tale of the Magic Man.
I feel like I’m the only one who took ep 8’s last scene as Simon doing the exact opposite he did in episode 2. He wants to send F and C back, but at the last moment, he’s reminded of Betty and thinks of her- finally opening the portal to Golbetty.
The adventure encyclopedia has the exact same picture as the one in that episode where Simon gets out with the enchiridion keep in mind the book was written 7+ years before this episode the absolute attention to detail they put onto this show with the adventure time lore is insane
I’m a millennial, a shop steward and a safety captain for a federal job, I feel for Scarab SO MUCH. Man is just trying to do his job while every body around is just slacking. The problems that are going unaddressed are going to lead to some serious fall out but no body is taking him seriously and are taking side based on likability. Too relatable 😢
I was actually thinking about this. Prismo couldn't put Fiona and Cakes Universe in his head anymore. Betty's wish was for Simon to be safe. I think the Betty statute in his head prevented the crown from ever working on him. I think in the next episode the statue might come for Cake. I have a feeling if Cake touches someone they're going to turn back into their Ooo equivalent since she is magic now thanks to Prismo. The following the story of everybody's favorite boys I think they're going to get changed.
The most terrifying The Lich has been and he essentially won in this universe but he's without purpose now and he's in depress mode. Interesting how The Lich behaves in a very machine-like manner, always yearning to fulfill their task, and after accomplishing it they just, shut down until something happens
I think the reason gold Betty interfered at the moment she did is because he was about to put on the Crown more so. Cause this whole time he's been going universe hopping and not really ever finding a crown with no damage/hard obstacle to over come to get it. The Jerry universe had it easy to grab and ready to use, so this made her come grab Simon because of how she tried so hard to get him to return to normal just for him to undo and undermine her sacrifice
I love watching things like this bro because its just random people who go out and ramble about shows or things they enjoy and I think its really cool.
Seriously, I'm waiting with as much hype your analyzes than the episodes! It makes me love the show even more! And there is so much going on in this 10 episodes that it's hard to grasp everything on the first watch, so you always surprise me with one of your point in a "Oh my god yes! He's 100% right!" way
Although without Simon she was an obvious villain, Marceline seemed genuinely happy with the Vampire King, and he seemed to have a lot of genuine care for Marcy. Simon in episode 2 he said Marceline would thrive without him, he wasn’t entirely wrong…
I'm honestly interested in Marcy's bond with VK mainly because I never get to see villains that can have healthy relationships while being bad guys, which I find compelling (only Arcane gave me that). I have doubts that we may see vampire world again, and as far as I can see in fanfics no one seems interested to try the idea of VK being a potential caring dad? Unfortunately.
0:25 Adventure Time gets a pass for refusing to end because that’s basically the theme of the show! The fun will never end, and neither will growing up. Everything and everyone is growing and changing, yet still staying the same in many ways. The same franchise, but seen from a different angle as time goes on. The underside is lighter when you turn it around. (Maybe if I keep shoving as many references as I can into this comment, they’ll keep making Adventure Time spin-offs)
I just love thinking about how the alternate universes are born from wishes, like we saw in the original series, so it’s like.. who made the wish that made the Winter King? Did an ice king wish to be like Bubblegum? Did a bubblegum wish for ice king to be sane? I kinda lean towards the latter bc, like we saw with Farm World, Prismo’s wish universes come with ironic twists, like jake becoming the new Lich after being exposed to the nuclear explosion- so if bubblegum wished for ice king to be sane, having that wish come with the twist that she would be the new version of ice king. And for the Lich’s wish (pre-jake-wishing-to-change-lich’s-wish) giving him a world to obliterate, leading him to have no purpose for the rest of time. So who wished for the vampire apocalypse universe? Possibly VK, but where’s the ironic twist in that?
11:36 - My theory is that The Lich is that way because in the end, he didn't get his wish. The Lich, being as attached to Golb as he is, has always seemed like his reason for doing what he does is to be closer to Golb---at the very least, see him (because it's never clear if he's ever seen Golb). However, in the world of episode 8, it seems like while he did his work to appeal/appease/please Golb, Golb-Betty didn't come, rendering him unfulfilled, much like Fionna who imagined one thing and has had the carpet swept out from under her.
Guess I'm one of the few people who thought the Gary/Marshall kiss felt...sudden. Like, no big confession, no talk between them...I was a little underwhelmed.
they also only know each other for, what? 2-3 days? They never met before Fionna vanished and we know a day passes when in farm world and maybe another day at most with ice, baby and part of vamp world. They were told they would need to stay a week in the ice one but they didn't even get to stay half a day, baby world was a quick stop while trying to flee and they spent a bit longer in vamp world. It felt sudden as hell that they made them kiss since it feels more like a spur of the moment thing and neither truly know each other, and especially since PB is known for spying on people and being controlling, Gary could too secretly and that's probably the worst that can happen to Marshall. Imagine he thinks he found a sweet dude and even risked talking to his mom again who wants to monopolize his life and tell him what to do only to find out the guy has stalker tendencies.
@@mesousagaby740 true. But they also fused together within the same hour which does also allow them to know each other more intimately than a regular relationship, they didn't get together properly until later when the fusion finally settled since the appearance seems to be based on the relationship of the pair itself (cotton candy garnet was clearly divided, she struggles between being sapphire and ruby but willing to find out what it meant to be someone different alongside the other and regular garnet has gone through all of that and finally knows herself and the individual parts of her). But personally I don't like rushed relationships in stuff, I feel like unless the characters make an effort later to know each other they won't work. Idk if that makes a lot of sense or if it's a valid reason but that's just what I think.
@@audreyharris7643 yeah, it is doing a pretty good job considering the amount of episodes they have and the stakes rn. Until now they actually felt like a pretty natural attraction and I feel that if they didn't rush it and maybe wait for season 2 if they could, it would've been perfect. But they are wrapping up the season and with the possibility of no other season I get why they did it. We can just pretend that in a world where they had more episodes, they actually had more of a cute and natural slow burn. Gary seems like the type to overanalyze his feelings and question whether or not what he's feeling is reciprocated for months before Marshall just goes for it. Kinda like how he worked with his pastries.
A friend of mine had the idea that Curses are unable to stack on top of each other, or at least curses of a certain variety. So since Vampirism is already a curse that massively effects the body and mind, perhaps the Crown can’t add onto that and simply grants the powers alone
What honestly kills me about The Star is at the end, when Bonnibel and Marceline are presumably falling to the death, the way it is edited with Marshall and Gary implies just before they met their end, they still kissed anyway, whether it was as a distraction to stake her, or if it was just a “fuck it“ moment, or something else is up for interpretation. But it just goes to show regardless if they are in love, enemies, married, friends with benefits, playful (and probably sexual lol) rivals, they will always find each other, because they were **made** for each other. Sometimes, destiny is inescapable. I don’t make the rules, I just say it as it is🩷🖤🩷🖤🩷🖤🩷🖤🩷🖤🩷🖤🩷🖤🩷🖤🩷🖤
Ngl I can’t be the only one after episode 7 to feel that it wasn’t a “enemies to lovers” vibe but more of a “they just despise each other more than anyone else” vibe right?
I wasn't a fan of Bonnie's buzz cut but I like the way they styled her and the one eye. Just me personally would have loved to see a short messy cut maybe pixie cut like. I loved Marcy's outfits. The Vampire Universe was very interesting I loved it. I wonder if tank peppermint will protect baby finn and he'll grow up to be a vampire hunter or will he get sent back to his proper universe I think it's the former from the intro we see what may be a toddler/young finn running through the vampire universe
they fr did a kiss speedrun and I’m not complaining, I was on Pinterest and the first pin I see was the pic of them kissing lmao I ran for my iPad to watch the new eps
Honestly I like the idea that this Lich fufilled his purpose and got nothing out of it. This one completed its task, he successfully ended all life. But after that... he just sat on a dead planet for decades. I like to think that, while he realized he could hop to another universe and end it, what would be the point?
My theory differs a little bit, I don't think Golb gives direct orders to their subjects like a DND god, I feel like it's more like this: -Golb is a god of chaos -in a world full of life, life going on is the natural order, perpetuating itself for all time. -the litch sees life as orderly, and therefore causes death on a massive scale to shake things up for his patron diety. -in this universe where he succeeds, and is forced to sit with what he's done, death is the norm, death is order. There is no life which can be perpetuated. -when he witnesses life again, the ice wizard being effectively reborn from his impossible, death filled existence, this is chaotic to him. Its a shake up of the norm. -therefore he lets them live, to mix up the new natural order as they see fit, as that's what he, the last scholar of a god of chaos, would want vicariously.
In terms of the "Big Boss" they could be a middle ground from pPrismo and orbo's slacker natures and Scarab's adherence to the rules as a whole; which may be why they allowed scarab to continue pursuing them because "just because Prismo's likeable doesn't excuse his violation"
As someone who has Marcelina and BMO as their first and second favourite characters, these two episodes broke me. “YOU RUINED MY GIRL. Well at least I still have BMO’s pure image clean in my hea-“

I think it actually makes this darker because part if her musicality came from Simon's songs.
It does make it seem like Marceline fell in love with music because of Simon.
Fiona and cake definitely expanded its lore in the best way possible

I feel like Bubblegum and Marceline were less enemies to lovers and more lovers to enemies, since they seemed to have had a close relationship beforehand (possibly) but now they (but especially PB) seem to hate eachother
Yeah they just seem to flat out hate each other. Apocalypse PB even almost killed Simon when he told her that they fell in love in another universe.
Marcy did get mad when one of the servants suggested killing Bonnie
@@tanandalynch9441 that's true, I do think Bubblegum holds more resentment then Marceline may, however, as PB is pretty against the idea of even the suggestion of being in love with The Star, even going as far as to give up her life so she can 'poof' Marcy
To be fair Marcy did took PB's right eyeball, if my gf did that I'll probably harbor some resentments.
Maybe the Lich spared BMO to see him run out of batteries.
We have seen BMO open electronic devices for new batteries.
@@genericname2747Simon literally opened a portal to a new world right in front of him and he didn’t do anything

I think Golb deactivated the liche because it was about to kill Simon, and Betty's wish - "keep Simon safe" - still holds sway over Golb and Golb's creatures.
I see Fiona's situation as similar to Subaru's from Re:Zero.
The two are normal people who felt useless and unachieved in their normal world who, after accidentally being thrown into a new world of fantasy and magic, see an opportunity to be something more and live an adventure, only to end up having a reality check and realize that this new reality is much more dangerous and difficult than they expected, with real and frightening consequences.

personally i think that the reason why golbetty was able to create a portal to simon was because of the crown. Betty's wish with the crown was the power to 'keep simon safe'. since Betty saw the ice king as the death of simon in the show, the act of simon putting on another wishing crown would probably be what gave her the power to teleport him.
I thought it was also because of the Bug guy that was behind Simon and about to stab him that triggered Golbetty
Either option works tbh
Man it’s sad what happened to Martin, a universe where he was a genuinely nice guy and loves his son and he paid the price
He was genuinely a nice guy and loved his son even in our world he just got brain damage that changed his personality
@@nathanblackburn1193you know what? That’s so true. I tbh forgot that Gary and marshal are still technically in the “made up” world in simons head.

@@nathanblackburn1193Vampire world is still kinda left in the dark

The thumbnail "make it gayer" is most classic Sarcastic Chorus thing Chorus has done

Hmmmm
I think Marcy had a crush which is why she got mad when the prols asked why she hasn't killed Bonnie but Bonnie just wants her dead.
ngl it feels more like lovers to enemies to me. world in which they remained bitter exes
Enemies to enemies with chemistry
They are both enemies, but Marcy has a crush, and wants Bonnie to join her
For the Lich, you forget Simon's comment of the Lich "seems really depressed".
This series is SO AMAZING!!! The art of each world is so beautiful and the characters are amazing and I need more!!

I can see why he got so tired, it didn't pay off so he realized he committed to nothing, and became desolate just like the lands he wiped the life out of
This series is awesome! They feed us so well!🎉🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤❤
My interpretation of Jerry is that as a scholar of Golb, the Lich causes mass death to spread Golb's nature as a being of chaos and discord. But after killing everyone he realized the Extinct World is one of complete stagnation and stillness, basically near-perfect order. So realizing his life's mission basically resulted in the opposite of what his god is broke him
Ice king suddenly turns into skeleton for a few frame actually jumpscared me lol.
You bringing up Fionna's fear of change got me wondering if "Not Myself" is going to come back/have a deeper meaning in the next two episodes
Okay but the thing about adventure time is it doesn't come back the same. It truly ages with its audience, and twlls new stories.

The underside is lighter when you turn it around.

When Fionna gets home she’s gunna be retramatized by her alarm clock
This episode's au is basically the lovechild of Skyrim's Dawnguard and Fallout 4's Nuka World DLC and it just so great!
Is no one going to talk about how baby Finn Is just stranded in a universe with deadly vampires
Oh my God, they left baby Finn in the vampire world. 😢

@@j.a.r.5974that's a great reason this show doesn't have enough episodes to develop there relationship for it to feel more natural
I hope we get conclusions for all these alternate worlds.
Like what happens to poor baby finn, he just got left in the tank
A friend of mine had the idea that Curses are unable to stack on top of each other, or at least curses of a certain variety. So since Vampirism is already a curse that massively effects the body and mind, perhaps the Crown can’t add onto that and simply grants the powers alone
I cried so hard when Fionna and Cake were fighting. Like dude, it's so much reletable what the heck :|
Martin was literally the guy who wanted to stop and help strangers in this universe. He’s totally different
I don’t make the rules, I just say it as it is🩷🖤🩷🖤🩷🖤🩷🖤🩷🖤🩷🖤🩷🖤🩷🖤🩷🖤
Ngl I can’t be the only one after episode 7 to feel that it wasn’t a “enemies to lovers” vibe but more of a “they just despise each other more than anyone else” vibe right?
i love how fionna and cake add to adventure time's lore while not making you need to watch it to understand everything in adventure time.
8:04 also, he's voiced by Dave McCormack from bluey. Bandit is a bowling ball and that is absolutely perfect.
Same and its really didn't help that they refused to give her ears. I get she doesn't need them but she's literally had them in the past
Why bother watching the actual episodes when you can. Just listen to this guy
There is a difference between other shows that won't end and Adventure Time. Adventure time grows with its (intended?) audience.
they fr did a kiss speedrun and I’m not complaining, I was on Pinterest and the first pin I see was the pic of them kissing lmao I ran for my iPad to watch the new eps
Honestly I like the idea that this Lich fufilled his purpose and got nothing out of it. This one completed its task, he successfully ended all life. But after that... he just sat on a dead planet for decades. I like to think that, while he realized he could hop to another universe and end it, what would be the point?
Well that is the only point, to end all life, that’s it
Somebody pick up that phone! Because I CALLED it!
If the environment reflects the world inside Simon head just imagine what happened to it when he was in the Jerry world
wait i totally forgot about baby finn being left in the vampire AU poor kid
My theory differs a little bit, I don't think Golb gives direct orders to their subjects like a DND god, I feel like it's more like this:
-Golb is a god of chaos
-in a world full of life, life going on is the natural order, perpetuating itself for all time.
I was right
I was waiting for this and then it dropped when i was playing
Everyone keeps forgetting Marshalee mother is actually his dad
In terms of the "Big Boss" they could be a middle ground from pPrismo and orbo's slacker natures and Scarab's adherence to the rules as a whole; which may be why they allowed scarab to continue pursuing them because "just because Prismo's likeable doesn't excuse his violation"
I found this season to be super good. I mean, I thought that nothing would live up to episode 6 but dang. These 2 were bangers. For sure
My theory on why the lich let the gang live is just cause he knows they’ll die on their own since there’s no food or water
Seeing the Lich that made the wish was a big twist it means he won
As someone who has Marcelina and BMO as their first and second favourite characters, these two episodes broke me.
“YOU RUINED MY GIRL. Well at least I still have BMO’s pure image clean in my hea-“
