In Jane Austen’s “Emma” they play a game with letter tiles when they are on a picnic during which Mr. Churchill spells out the word “ blunder” for Miss Fairfax. I think the mystery tile could be one of those type of tiles!
Grand adventure! If you all ever decide to write a book about your mudlarking, you’ve uttered a perfect title for it today: “Mom’s Had a Marbling Day!” Thanks for taking me along on the treasure hunt and find! 💙 Kathleen, USA
Congrats on your domino Kate and marbles and pipes Fleur! You were already told scrabble piece which is the first thing I thought of, I have no other guesses. I am looking for ward to December on your channels. Thanks so much.
I found a 1902 pottery advertisement on ebay for James A Cox at 42 Old Compton Street. It was for Whiskey Urns ( a type of lamp) that could be piped for electric or gas.
So in love with the mother and daughter relationship, my daughter is 18 , please send good thoughts our way as I’d love to do these types of things with her! Thanks again for another great video! Lisa- North Carolina USA
I don’t mind a little cold weather but I can’t abide the wind. We haven’t had sunshine in days in lower Michigan. No snow here but very dreary. Stay warm! Thanks.
I have had trouble with quickly knowing left from right too, & when I once mentioned it in a comment online a couple of years ago, somebody else turned out to have the same trouble for the same reason. Therefore, I am mentioning this just in case it applies to Fleur, although I’m not sure that she’s old enough to have this sort of history. I’m 63 y/o, & when I was at primary school back in the 1960’s (in Australia), we were forced to use our right hands to write with, rather than naturally use our left hands, or alternate our use of hands, if we were ambi-dexterous. Being forced to use my right hand has made me - & the other past commenter (at the very least) - “chronically confused” (as you so aptly mentioned) - about which is left & which is right, unless given plenty of time to figure it out. 😂 I also sometimes kind of do the gestures of writing with my hands (unobtrusively) to help me figure out which is which, but I still get it wrong, especially if having to say quickly or with no advanced warning.😊 Back in older times, the right hand was the “good” hand, & the left was “sinister”, belonging to witchcraft or the devil or such, & the custom carried on even when it had lost the meaning behind it. I don’t think they do this anymore, which is good.😅
Ohh no! I was "working" (i.e. falling asleep in front of my document) and didn't notice your video earlier! I'll have to leave it running while I take the dogs out then go to bed, but I've "liked and commented", so will be back to watch it again tomorrow... it looks very exciting!! Good night to you ladies, kindest regards, k
Your tile looks like it might be out of either a small kiln, a live steam model railway engine, or, what's left of an electrical fuse after the steel part has rusted away. The thing that makes me think "kiln" is that it's curved.
Could the mystery find actually be the key to a cash register? I was also wondering if the marbles could be bullets for muskets? I actually am doubtful, because it does seem that your finds have to do with games, so maybe they are game marbles. But I just wondered if there might be a possibility of being a musket ball. I suppose though if it were metal, it might be unlikely to wash ashore? Anyway thanks for the fun video!

Thank you for going out in the cold. The rain made mud larking much easier to find things to share. Be safe and stay warm.😊
Thank you, such fun being with you both 😊😊 xx
I researched scrabble tiles, but they were made of wood and then plastic, and it wasn't invited till 1939 in New York.
Hello from Brazil estou assistindo um vídeo fantastico gosto muito de vocês ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

That metal piece looks like a sunflower
Wonderful video, thank you.
I found objects online similar to the mystery piece. Might not be it but a small mould for pouring hot metal in to make jewellery parts.
감기 조심 하고 행복한 하루 보내요!:)

I think if you mad a pub you could put those dominos pieces as a feature wall.but also your idea was good.
Yippee no 1 again. I've been waiting for the show to begin. ❤❤

Great finds on a windy day. Stay safe and keep warm.
You could copper wire your glass stopper into garlands for your christmas tree. Then you can collect even more 😂
What a great day for finds. Definitely a game day, love the walk along the beach. Take care and thank you for sharing 👏🙏❤️
That looks like a fishing lure.

Great finds! Thank you for sharing all of this with us.😘
For old bone I have always oiled the bone to preserve it longer, I suppose too wax would help to preserve it as well.
Always interesting and relaxing. You laughter brings smiles. Thank you Fleur and Kate.
😮very brave yo go out in the cold❤
It’s winter
@@Nathan-lj4ds
It's still autumn.
Your green stoppers look like my green stoppers. I find them digging in the yard, but not so many. I save them in a jelly jar to show in sunlight.
What happened to your chandelier piece, Kate? Is that Mudmass project ready for this season? Looking forward to it!

Possibly Victorian anagram game letter tiles. Although they were mostly made from wood
I got cold just😊 watching your video. Sending warm wishes from the USA ❤

Hello from new York very nice finds fleur and kate🙂
Awww..I loved the shrimp 🍤❤
Very interesting finds!
Sorry I can’t resolve your mystery finds.
You could use or make a holder for your dominos like the ones used for scrabble

It's a leg!
Looks like a letter from scrabble

THE alphabet game played about 1800 -- 1850 ..
Looks like a Sqrabble tile...
How many knuckle-bone game pieces do u have now? Thanx!
Brilliant as always! Made me laugh at the spun cotton I have just finished making some xmas mice out of spun cotton ❤
Could the mystery piece be for casting an O for a typesetting piece, for printing
You could restore that domino very easily. I wonder if that's a regular marble not a red cod, marble
Dimples in the dice
I think the dots on the dominoes may be called dimples .
I was trying to remember what they are called.
@@sapphonymph8204 Pips!
They're "pips"
❤❤❤

Small clay square are tessera that make up part of a mosaic.?
How about a clay tester tile?
Could the mystery fine be the “O” from the BINGO game? What a lovely, albeit chilly lark!
