  • Hi guys, since people asked me to do a basic tutorial about Houdini so they can get familiar. I decide to make this quick setup for the Rock cliff.
In this tutorial, we only need a bunch of rock from Megascan then scatter them on a curve or line. It's so easy to understand and follow. Hopefully everybody can make their own stuff with this way.

i love that you chose the most epic music possible, like it's the dramatic ending of a fantasy film or something haha

This was more like mountain climbing than building. I never knew Houdini could be such an emotion experience, but that's what Art is and suppose to be. Thanks for sharing the link to the music. Oh and learned some great technology while I enjoy the musical experience. ❤️🔥⭐️👏

Hey! I found your channel a week ago and i'm blown away. Your videos including this one have helped me resolve issues i've been having with Houdini and Redshift since i began my journey almost a year ago. I wanted to ask, is there any chance you will upload an extended ocean sim with RS? Besides that, keep up the great work, this is one of my new favorite Houdini channels :)

Really incredible walk through, Super helpful and great background music as well! One thing I wanted to know - do you know a way to convert albedo maps into ACEScg as a node in RS? I know how to preconvert in another program such as Affinity Photo but wondered if there is a way to do that inside Houdini on the fly. Keep up the incredible work!

Thank you. Great question for me too. Honestly I only use Nuke for convert those maps to ACES. If you could find out other way to do that inside Houdini, I would love you to share that with everyone :)

Hello, great tutorial, learned a lot from it.❤
At 15:26, you imported grass assets from the bridge into houdini. Video shows, there is a grid, Packed_Primitives, instance1, Instance_Freeze nodes, etc.
But I only have Var0-20 models after import.
Are there any options I need to check to import bridge assets from houdini?
For example, use megascans scattering, enable LODs, Use Atlas Splitter, Apply Motion (Plants)?

You don't have to care about it. It's already setup when you use Megascan bridge to export to Houdini :)

@@cgknight6349 I am not sure why but, I don't have that node in Houdini when I export/import from bridge. I also don't have the megascan livelink button in the megascans dropdown.
